you prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Alonso Jaden Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thank you!! I repaired mine while lying on back with the freezer door loosened but not removed. It would have been a lot easier to fix if my wife and children did not decide, with me trapped by the rails of the door, that it was an opportune moment to tickle my protruding, and quite pale middle age belly.
So I just fixed this thanks to your video!! The top ice maker has not been having ice and I think this is why. I'm going to wait a couple of hours and see if I have ice in the top again. Fingers crossed!!
FYI The sensor wire goes under the ice tray, not the top. I wish I could upload a photo to you with this comment. Your video was great and saved me a ton of time. Thanks!
Thank you for the video. Because family stored frozen food in the ice cube dump tray it broke the plastic clip when the freezer draw was forcefully closed. Even though the clip broke I was able to fashion a paperclip through the holes in each plastic connector to secure the sensor unit in place. I'll probably order a replacement tray but for now I have ice again.
Excellent Job! A really great video, Thank you. Your narration and video were done perfectly so that I could follow along with you. I saved $100!! Thank you!!!
My lower ice maker stopped making ice automatically months ago. It works fine when I press the test button so I know the water line is not frozen and the tray mechanism works fine and the sensor is in the correct configuration. It's not being signaled to dump the ice and make more. Is this a bad sensor that I need to replace?.
I have an RFG296 and this vid came in very handy, unfortunately, I had to call the repair man as I couldn't find a video on how to take it off. Thanks for sharing this video it will come handy next time I have to remove it myself and save some money
Elleoncito66 No problem, even the smallest things with details help out. That's why I made this video because in other videos certain details were missing.
Did you end up having the wire for the sensor in the right place above the ice tray? Or did you have to move it to underneath? My sensor fell out and I figured I would ask before attempting this. Thanks so much for the video.
The lever arm that tells the unit to make or stop making ice broke on mine. If you look at minute 7:47 in your video, it looks like I should be able to remove the arm with a Philips head screwdriver and put a new one on. Samsung parts says that arm cannot be bought separately and I have to buy the entire icemaker. Seems a little drastic (and crappy design for sure). Thoughts?
my samsung refrigerator rfg298hdrs/xaa has dual icemakers. just started flashing 8e and 39e i reset panel but both icemakers quit making ice. i unplugged and plugged back in. bottom icemaker i can press the reset button and it dumps ice cubes but will only do so when i press the reset button. Top ice maker does nothing when i press the reset button but if i press the lever on the outside of the door i do here the thing turning that pushes the ice to the front. please help
Thank you! I don't care about ice but having icemaker bits dangling by wires in the freezer wasn't safe. I've fixed this. My icemaker arm broke, by the way, despite never have been used. Samsung quality - I expect shti like this at this point in my fridge ownership.
Thanks for the video.... I had an Issue with the sensor that made my icemaker turn to far & the ice tray got stuck in a twisted position on a tab on the opposite end where the tray pivots... weird how it happened but pretty easy fix thanks to ur video 👍👍👍
So if the ice is coming up to high so when you pull open the ice bucket it scraps the ice cube tray and damages it, then isn't the shutoff arm not shutting the ice making unit off early enough so the ice bucket doesn't over fill and cause problems?
If you want to save time & guesswork go to the Samsung website, punch in your model number and you’ll be able to order the accurate parts for your refrigerator. I have ordered plenty of parts from there and it’s pretty straight forward and accurate, they even have shop drawings with part numbers for future references.
You could first check if it’s been turned off on the control panel on the front of the fridge. 2nd you might have a blocked waterline or frozen waterline. 3rd check to see if someone turned the waterline off underneath your sink going to your refrigerator.
When i press the reset button on my bottom ice maker it turns and dumps, then fills, then i hear chime. But then thats it, it wont dump ice again. What could be wrong?
@@bteuscher6680 It is supposed to measure how much ice fills into the ice bucket. The arm sticks down and as the ice cubes increase the arm gets pushed up until the arm will shut down ice production so you don't have an overflow of ice cubes.
Great vid. Question, you mentioned that this is for a sumsung refrigerator but the part you are installing is sankyo at about the 0:07 mark. Curious to know if these parts are one in the same. I am tring to replace the entire lower ice making unit on a Samsng RFG298AARS/XAA and having a heck of a time Id'ing the correct part. I do not have the old part we are replacing. Any thoughts?
Mike H These refrigerators and appliances are like cars. One may own a Chevy yet the water pump in the car is made by Bosch, which is considered original equipment by Chevy because it was specifically designed by Bosch for a specific Chevy model or in our case a Samsung refrigerator. Or someone may have an iPhone but the chip in their phone may be a QUALCOMM or an Intel. As long as you have the right model number and make you should be able to go to the Samsung parts website punch in that number and it should pop up right away. I stress Samsung parts.com because these guys have it together. I don’t like guessing when purchasing things through the Internet on eBay or Amazon even though they may be cheaper, because you run the risk of ordering the wrong part. The way that I eliminate this is by ordering straight from the source, Samsung itself, trust me it’s worth your time. It will save you a lot of time and stress. That if you don’t like your time to be wasted.
Go to Samsung parts.com it may be a little more expensive but it will save you a lot of time because they have diagrams that show you where your part may be located and if you have the part number you can just put it in the system and it should show up right away.
I can't get water to flow when the solenoid kicks in. I've troubleshot and found out the water portal going into the ice maker is stopped up. Tried hair dryer and wire to get it unclogged. How do I get this thing out?
@ lphil6. On the front Control panel on the face of the fridge on the right lower corner above the ice and water dispenser. You have to press and hold the ice button for 3 seconds, the charm should ring. Once you hear the charm ring, press the button again once to select the top ice maker and twice to select the bottom icemaker and that should turn it off.
The Handyman Channel. thanks for the response. I finally figured out that when the icon is lit up the ice maker is off... kind of counter intuitive, but now I got it.
Has anyone use their RO and have the bottom ice maker make clearer ice cubes but the wall ice maker the cloudy. Is there something in the back to switch over, where the water from the RO not going to the wall ice maker?
Not sure if this answers your question but the appearance of the ice has to do with the speed at which the cubes are produced. Top one makes ice faster, the process cause more air in the ice and therefore cloudy. This is actually explained in the manual for the unit.

Dude! It took two minutes to take the ice maker out, pop in the new bracket and cover then reinstall. Thanks for the video 👍
No problem man 👍

Great video! I just assembled it with the wire on top. I'll see what happens before I tear it apart again. It worked when I tested it.

Wow, thank you, thank you so much for this detailed help video. It helped me fix the freezer perfectly.
Lol, you’re welcome. Detail is exactly what I needed and figured someone else out there may have needed the same. 👍
Our sensor was knocked loose. One quick search led me to your helpful video and I fixed it in minutes. Thanks for posting this!
Sweet. Glad i could help.
Thank you. I'd never figured-out where that sensor went without your video.
George McAdams Nice, glad I was able to assist.
The Handyman Channel Handyman, my ice maker actually works better than it ever did. Thanks, again.
Sir, thank you so much. Clear, concise, and useful.
You’re very welcomed.
Thanks for this video. I was able to fix my freezer with only a minimal amount of swearing! :)

Bro, this video helped organize my plan. Thanks for clip.
Any time 👍
Mine is just leaking. No visible holes. Is the water running over the top the tray, into the floor of the freezer? Great detail. Thanks.
Maybe your hose has disconnected itself or if you recently replaced your water filter perhaps it wasn't inserted fully.
My bottom ice maker makes ice that is broken and powdery. Any solutions. Took unit out and did all trouble shooting.
Did you end up having the wire for the sensor in the right place above the ice tray? Or did you have to move it to underneath? My sensor fell out and I figured I would ask before attempting this. Thanks so much for the video.
Thank you. This video saved me a lot of frustration.
I know the feeling. You're welcome.
Great video. However, my ice cubes are coming into the bucket in one connected lump instead of individual cubes. What is causing this?
Thank you. Honestly, been pretty busy and haven’t touched another fridge in a while.
My bottom ice maker seems tom8n working order but not getting water. Top one works fine. Any suggestions?

Rob S Yes, that’s correct. If you remove the screw you should be able to replace the lever.
Thanks for this, i've been looking to see how to take apart my Samsung ice maker (same as yours). One question, does this model have a water filter?
Yes, this fridge is on its last legs.

Yeah..... dangling wires aren't safe.
What does that sensor do? Mine came lose and I wonder if it will still make ice.
Thanks for the video.... I had an Issue with the sensor that made my icemaker turn to far & the ice tray got stuck in a twisted position on a tab on the opposite end where the tray pivots... weird how it happened but pretty easy fix thanks to ur video 👍👍👍
Happy everything worked out for you.

That could possibly be the case, therefore you may have a senor problem.

Its got a place for the wire on the top if you look thats what that groove is for
You could first check if it’s been turned off on the control panel on the front of the fridge. 2nd you might have a blocked waterline or frozen waterline. 3rd check to see if someone turned the waterline off underneath your sink going to your refrigerator.
If all else fails, try the reset button. 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks so much!!! Great tutorial
Does it have a reset button???
When i press the reset button on my bottom ice maker it turns and dumps, then fills, then i hear chime. But then thats it, it wont dump ice again. What could be wrong?
Yo. You really helped me out bro. Much thanks! 👍
Barney Trouble You’re welcome. I’m happy the video helped you out.
i assume you had to remove the front door to get access
You got it.
Yes, that’s correct, if you remove that screw you will be able to replace that lever.
What does that lever do anyway? Mine has been broker for who knows how long and things seem to be ok.

Great video. Where can I buy the sensor for this ice maker. I haven’t been able to find one, without buying the whole unit for $90. Thanks.

Sorry about that, it’s Samsung parts website.
Very helpful!

shadowgunammo I know right. Him making this video helped me a lot.

How do I make the no ice light go off
When I find out I'll let you know.
You can’t. It’s purpose is to let you know that it is off.
My bottom ice maker works. But I have no idea how to turn it off.
