Been trying to get a sub 30 All Journal Entries run in Spelunky HD for about a week now, and finally got everything to line up! Unfortunate that the Machete cost me multiple minutes, but even the world record run loses time to the last entry. Oh well, might try to get a cleaner run anyway!

since it's probably going to keep getting asked, the line at the start of the video is in reference to me being publicly antagonized by another prominent S2 speedrunner for effectively just grinding the game in a way they found annoying, with not much pushback from the wider community. if you want the longer details you can check the vod of this run on my twitch channel since i don't wanna write about all this constantly. also don't get in a flame war or argument in the replies etc etc its good i'm just gonna play some other stuff it is fine

I had no idea. I've mainly been holding off on playing Spelunky 2 since I haven't been spoiled on it yet (yes, even after this long!). That's a shame that someone decided to suck ass like that, they sound like they deserve to burn in hell probably. I find your content very wholesome and enjoyable, keep blazing your own path and doing what brings you joy!

4:19 Sometimes I feel bad for the like, merchants in this game. All he wanted was to sell stuff, admittedly in a weird area, and some guy comes and blows up a good part of his shop just to complete a journal.
If you ever have this problem again, just remember, they kill you with a shotgun if you steal anything, and they sometimes sell slaves and women
this guy has completed everything I still haven't completed (for 3 years.)

For us youtube plebs, can someone explain the drama that made Spelunky 2 unplayable?
Basically for a while Hec was ahead of Ivyoary on several runs and Ivy talked every time he streamed about how he didn't think Hec was very good, that his times were undeserved and that Hecs playstyle was bad and annoying, idk just very weird jealous behavior. I haven't watched Ivy's streams in a long time, idk if it got worse than what I saw, but it was common enough that I noticed it and was bothered by it completely indepently of Hec talking about it here.

@@morganlak4337 ever since i was first introduced to Ivy i never liked their attitude, really disappointing to me to have such an impressive ability but really shitty sportsmanship
I was literally complaining a day ago that all the S2 runners i find quit right after i find them, and that was also my complaint with Ivy as they said they’d stop playing S2 a few days ago. Had NO idea that they were the one who made Hec feel pushed out of Spelunky 2, though needless to say I’m not very sad that Ivy isn’t playing the game anymore if that’s the case haha
