the half function [like a dro] and mpg sim button are badass. don't know why other half million dollar machines don't have simple functions like these that would make every machinist life easier. i am always looking for my calculator
Hi Jesse Thank you for the update about the tool setter rotation. I learnt the hard way and crashed the face mill into the tool setter. I saw you manually centre the job when setting the G54 Y position. I feel that there is a better way. Use the "Manual Centre" button and enter the Y1 and Y2 coordinates - this automatically averages the readings. Then press "Latch Aux Coordinates" button. This will put the Y average AND the X average coordinates into the G54. If X was Zero it will put a Zero into G54. It will over-write any X & Y coordinates already in the G54. So always use this function first. It is designed primarily for manually finding the centre of a hole to act as the G54 reference. I use the out-of-the way USB port on the RHS side of the control panel not the front port. If you find this side port does not work it means the factory still hasn't added a connector cable. To fix, just remove the back panel of the main console and plug in a standard USB connector cable from this remove USB port to the main circuit board. I feel this is safer than having the USB drive plugged into the front panel. I enjoy your videos greatly. Cheers.
Great video. Thanks for going step by step and showing all the possible pitfalls. The only crash I ever had on my VF4SS was when I was first learning. For some reason Fusion did not use H7 for my T7 tool but instead used H0 (this was in 2015 when fusion was still new). I did not have "T and H must match" set in the HAAS controller. Ruined a new KURT 6" vise, 3" face mill, tweeked my spindle alignment and is surely the reason why I had to replace my spindle less than two years in. Why isn't that setting turned on by default? P.S. Do not use automatic when using PCD inserts. Spinning backwards causes the tip to hit and chips it. Took me 2 of those $200 Iscar PCD inserts to figure that out. Do it manually.
I just created a CNC startup business model for a university class. I chose the X5 for my machine and used Fusion 360 to generate my tool paths. The Titans of CNC Academy was a huge help. Many thanks
Any advice for entering this industry? I’m kinda old but took college courses in Mech Tech engineering, really enjoyed mastercam but we never did hands on. Or even doing it as a hobbyist?
Great video. Thanks for all the helpful information on the Syil x5. I actually own a older syil. My model is the Syil V5 from 2019. It has the LNC 5800 controller. Would it be possible to do a tutorial video just like this one? But using the LNC 5800 or 6800 controller? @TITANSofCNC
@Jessie: is that MPGSim the only method to verify the first run? has that Syntec the possibility to run in single mode and reducing the feeds by hand?🤔 how does MPGSim act in a tapping cycle?
i am interested in learning how to run a CNC machine like PUMA SMX 3100ST MILL . Do you have classes to be certified? Los Angeles here. I would like to have it on my resume.
They do not run classes for learning the basics of operation of CNC machines. Their classes are about making parts, once one got the basic knowledge of operating a CNC machine in general, and access to one. The basics of operation and coding are similar to many brands of machines. I guess a company will look most closely at job seekers general experience within CNC machining, and less at what speific machines/brands one have been working on. The company will give instructions on operation of their specific machine(s) if needed. A good machinist will quickly pick up the ways of operating a to him/her a new brand. But of course it dows not hurt having knowledge of operating different brands.
So one of the machinists has a 3 axis mill that only uses metric numbers regardless (Jingdiao) but his other okuma doesn’t what a pain in the rear to constantly convert
Steve has done a ton more than that to finish out the overall UI of the machine. Tremendous guy. Pretty much single handedly finishing out the development work that Syntec left incomplete. His work deserves more recognition.
There is no other place you will find this much detailed and thorough information on CNC operation. Well done Jess.
how is this channel consistently putting out the best content on this entire website! THANK YOU!
The removable toolsetter is slick. Well covered in every step, Jessie, thank you.
Titan is a good guy. Who else is giving free training? Nobody!

It’s good to see, that the Machining Industry is booming since the first type of CNC Machine was created. Is crazy to think.

Jessie, great work, the information in this video is invaluable! Slick machines from Syil 😎
Nice walk-about Jessie. That’s a sweet machine!
Just ordered my syil from keith!
Congratulations! That’s amazing!
@@donniehinske Thanks man i appreciate it.
I would really love to see some content with the Siemens control

That machine is awesome!! Great video! Love the chapters!
I've been running 3 axxis machines 30 years ago with exactly the same features
But, did those machines cost less then half of the median US annual family income to buy at that time? I am guessing not
Great explanation of the basic functionality. Thanks!

Nice work Jessie. Great machines👏
Great work. If you please do the same for the X5 since the tool change and screens are somewhat different. Thanks
Wish I saw this earlier! Good video Jessie!
Thanks learned a new way to use the relative coordinates
Good stuff. Keep em coming.
That was awesome Jessie! Loved it. Ciao, Marco.
this is a fantastic video!
I think this tooloffset thing taking much more time than others
Does it override MPGsim in a tapping cycle?
Any advice for entering this industry? I’m kinda old but took college courses in Mech Tech engineering, really enjoyed mastercam but we never did hands on. Or even doing it as a hobbyist?
Since I'm CNC illiterate I am only qualified to push the green button
I agree, same for me
Don't forget the red button 😂
@@BDASS-o6lthen the “Oh shit there goes my job” red button too
Don't be so hard on yourself... You could push the big red one too!
👍

You call the probe like germans next time dude - HAIMA DREI DEH TASTA 🤣
Good Video Thanks for sharing
Does Hass have a similar option as the MPG from syntec?

I am wondering how reliable in time is this brand Cnc machine Syil …..
When are you gonna get Syle 5 axis? I believe a lot of guys whait for that 😊
It's att their website, U5 5-axis. Says it will hit the market Q4 of 2024

@@Rimrock300 ..thanks for that info
@@Rimrock300 ...how does one learn the basics of running cnc machine? i have drawn plans for cnc..but not run the machine.
this is more like a beginner class for a machine most of us wont ever use.
you made a titan 1m sclaed up, now scale it down, a lot =)

This video is about Syil cnc
Any plans to sell the lathes?
They got lathes listed at their website
Did you face any machine accident by your mistake in your experience?
Whuuut
Jessie you need the insert tool measure screen for the X7 22MA th-cam.com/video/XLoHZWHCg4M/w-d-xo.html

Made in China
Like your Phone.
*Assembled in China with high quality Swiss, German, & Japanese components. Soon to be assembled in Texas!
And?
I say let Chinese companies undercut the US/European CNC makers. Make them scared so they are in turn forced to make a better/cheaper product
That door interlock would be the absolute first thing I disabled lol. Can't have that lol
Nice work Jessie, super valuable info here!
Fascinating, I have only used tourmach and haas control. This x7 control is different.

Muito bom !
Can you make a video for the spindle probe please. and some videos on installing your tool probe/calibration. Thank you.
Incredible machine for the price
More panel close ups 😁

These Machines are good For learning and Prototypen
and good suitable for serial production for some companies
G54P2(G55) at 26:31 is hurting my brain. Do you call that up in a program as G55 or G54P2? Do they also use G54.1 like Fanuc?
When i was working as a machinist, my favorite machines to operate was the vending machines while on breaks & lunches.
Great work. Do you offer macros for a Siemens 808d/A version as well that can touch tools off automatically?
