No idea if this is true or not but on rum and tiki blogs I have seen said that key limes are essentially what limes use to be before they were cross bred with lemons to be bigger in the 20th century
Very well could be. I've heard that limes in Cuba are more like a cross between a lemon and a lime. So adding a little lemon juice to the average Persian lime brings it a little closer to the original Cuban Daiqueri.
Thanks for the comment! Margarita mix makes no sense to me. It only cuts it from 3 ingredients to 2, and doesn't save much money. The only thing worse may be the pre-mixed wine based Margaritas.
