We have actually done two videos on the Blue Hawaiian, in June of 21 we made it using creator Harry Yi's recipe. We also did a side by side comparing the Blue Hawaii in May of 23
I used to go there every summer with my grandparents to pick at the orchards. Best cherries I’ve ever eaten. It’s one of the few things I miss about being a kid.
@@concerned1144 I am too! Hope you find some really great cocktails here. We also have a series of videos that we make the cocktail you ask for. It is called Fan Friday.
You get the smooth Tequila taste, rich and smooth from the cream. I use heavy/whipping cream it just adds to the mouth feel but you could use half and half if you choose. The surprise flavor and very subtle is chocolate coming off the Creme de Cacao. If I had to compare with another cocktail, it's very similar to a Brandy Alexander made with Tequila instead of Cognac.
Whichever you prefer. I like using half and half, my wife likes it better with heavy cream. After saying that I guess the correct answer is heavy cream. Thanks for watching.
That's impossible to sustain naturally as you'd eventually get sick or need vitamins to substitute juices because your body will start flushing the minerals, vitamins and electrolytes through your urine, I urge you to drink juices that contain potassium, salt, vitamin B, C, and calcium. Almond milk, and orange juice would be a good start to health improvement and longevity.
Quality ingredients make quality cocktails. That being said, It is an amazing sipper and I don't use it for shots. If it makes you feel better there isn't a bottle of Jose anywhere near my bar (I made a pact with God when I was 19.)
Fortaleza is bold enough to make cocktails. Price doesn't matter as much for whether you mix or sip, assertiveness does. Fortaleza is in the middle so it's good for both. You wouldn't mix with Milagro's flagship reposado, a much cheaper tequila, unless you're doubling the base because the flavours aren't assertive enough; Great for sipping though despite the smaller pricetag. You wouldn't sip Sauza blanco (I mean, you do you, but I wouldn't), a little cheaper than Milagro too, because it's very harsh and unpleasant by itself. I would say in the same vein the bottle doesn't matter (which I say because Fortaleza's and Don Julio's lovely bottles for example are certainly part of thejr reputation). Milagro looks like it would be the cheapest, nastiest tequila going by the label (which almost ruins the passable bottle design), while at USD 20 (14 at most state liquor stores) for 750 ML (honestly a good value, it's underrated) Cuervo Gold has a nice bottle and nice label, but Milagro reposado is mid-range in price (36, 32 at state liquor stores, for 750 ML) and high-quality for its price, as the company intentionally takes lower profits on its flagship line to make higher-quality tequila more accessible to the masses. It's the CostCo principle- All good packaging means is the supplier spent more money on packaging instead of product quality. It can still be a good product (design and packaging are probably still a small fraction of the operating cost of Fortaleza), but by having cheaper packaging you can keep the cost of your product down without compromising on quality. (In fact, consumers also perceive price as affecting quality- the layperson, trying a $30 spirit and a $60 spirit, will almost always have the preconception that the $60 spirit is much better, and if that does not track with their experience, they will rationalize it for example as their palate being inexperienced- blind tasters and truly experienced palates can usually tell if the $60 is poor and the $30 is excellent, though, because they have a lack of bias, a frame of reference or both.) I can't find the MSRP of Fortaleza online and don't have my price book handy but I'm seeing it on a major online supplier (meaning MSRP is likely lower) for as low as 66 USD for the blanco- which tracks with being high end (though "best of the best" is a stretch).
@CheapsKate77 great question. Fresh ice will keep your cocktail cold longer. If you use the ice that was in the shaker, called a dirty pour it will melt faster diluting your drink.
I Never Ever drink any cocktail that is blue…YUK! Don’t care what it tastes like to me the visual is just as important and blue is not an appealing color for a cocktail.
You can substitute the Blue Curacao with an orange liqueur and make it a white cocktail. Triple Sec, Cointreau, Citronage, and Gran Marnier are all substitutes that keep the flavor but get rid of the blue.
blue Hawaiians with coconut milk added are amazing, anyone ever had one? similar to this.

I tried this cocktail and it was great
It's been a real hit around here too!
the cherrys are from my hometown! glad to see others like them as well. tasty looking drink
Thank you for the complement. The Travis City Cherries are a great cherry and at a reasonable cost for good cocktail cherries. Cheers!

Very good.
It is a tasty one, Enjoy!
I could have sworn there was cotton candy in that glass 😅 but that looks wonderful 😋
No Cotton candy here, just looks fluffy from the cream. Lot's of body, smooth texture and deliciousness here. Thanks for watching.
wow, delish!
Thanks!
Did not know one could make their own curacao.
It's really simple and tastes so much better.
Interesting
It definitely isn't your average Tequila cocktail. You might say this one is certainly Blue Agave. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Is it heavy cream or half and half?
I prefer the heavy cream, that is what I used. I like the fuller body and texture. You can use the half and half it's all about personal preference.
