This is the pique of Gundam design. It is absolutely perfect in all elements; from the proportions and features, to the weapons and even the colour scheme itself.
The fact it lasted until ZZ is testament to how well balanced it is, despite being essentially just a prototype by the Titans with no plans to get it upgraded or improved upon, it was already the perfect gundam just by the fact that it is very modular, with the right pilot it was very much on par with the more modern mobile suits of its time like the Zeta or the Double Zeta, they should have mass produced MK2's as well I'd like to see a refined version like an Refine Zeta but its the Mark2 so ReMK2 or remark 2 that sounds much cooler

1 I always love that mobile suit from Zeta Gundam, it's been through many tough battles against the Titans and Neo Zeon.
2 My favorite part of Gundam MK II Fired the Beam Rifle at the Marasai Beam Rifle makes a big explosion 💥.
The Mark-2 has always been my favorite Gundam, a good solid design, and with a good pilot it makes up more than any short fault it has.
My most favorite machine in the whole series. It's very underestimated in PVP games (Battle Operations and ZG vs ZZ)
Oh nah this thing is an absolute monster in the right hands in Battle Operation 2

Combination of luck and decent pilot's. I know what you mean, I was pleasantly surprised also. It had such a decent run.
Pilot skill can carry a MS far beyond what you'd expect. Yazan was using a MK-II against Newtypes in bleeding edge customs in MSV-R 0090

I've always been more a fan of these designs. Something like the Penelope is just too much, overdesigned and clashing. But the Mk-II is perfect. One of my favorites, next to the GP-01

well good to know in future they'll drop penelop design into smaller ms like f91 back 10 years later. the new crossbone gundam is ugly again..

I always wonder, what's the difference between Magnetic Coating and Movable Frame and what does it look like?
Magnetic Coating is as it name applies, a coating for the frames, specifically the joints that helps it be more responsive towards quick reactions. The RX-78-2 could not keep up with Amuro's Newtype reactions so it needed it to catch up along with few board upgrades.
The Movable Frame technology is a completely different thing. It's a completely new inner frame that allows much better stability and movement for the MSs. Initially, Anaheim had their own version for the Delta Gundam but it wasn't good enough, so they stole the Titans' version and improved upon it.
