    I was thinking of this setup, but I don't want to fit spacers. May have to go for the Macan setup now with 345mm discs

    Found your channel while I was trying to figure out why my 04 Jetta 1.8t was running hot I replace the fans cause one didn’t work replaced the radiator fan switch with 2 new autozone parts which ended up not working replace the thermostat 2 times and fan control module 2 times. All to find out that a 8 buck coolant cap was the issue Good news out of it found your channel.

    Just saw someone do this to their 8V A3. They used the stock 338mm rotor which fit perfectly. I believe 338mm is what the 2018+ Q5 uses.

    • @ERAutomotive
      @ERAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tired that first on my s5. But the backspacing on the q5 rotor doesn’t match the s5 so it’s a no go
      The 320mm rotor fits perfect

      @@ERAutomotive which pad did you go with? I'm trying to decide between this setup vs 2017+ porsche macan. Both lightweight. The macan uses a 345mm rotor which I can use from an MK6 golf R, but I'm really liking how the 2018+ Q5 brembos look

    • @ERAutomotive
      @ERAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m using Audi pads from the q5 currently
      But plan to get ebc yellow pads when they need replacement

      the newer Q5 has brembo made for 320mm rotors which is the same with ATE mono-4 as found is A4 B9 quattro. the brembo in this video has very little after market pads unlike the old Q5/macan 340mm brembo, also worth noting the older shape brembo came in 320mm spec as well. they look identical, just slight different in the mounting taps length.

      I’m keeping my eyes open for 345mm setup

    Just found this. Great vid. Question...Ive seen other's claim this is a direct bolt up and will work with OEM 17" rims without spacers....do you agree?

    • @ERAutomotive

      With good pads and rotors and installed correctly no reason for them to squeak

      My oem ones are terrible i figured the best way to fix the common audi squeaky brakes is to upgrade to a brembo style

    • @ERAutomotive

      Oh dam eh
      it’s definitely a great upgrade

    Do you know where the 320 discs come from? audi a4 b8 in 320x30 are good?
    Do you know if the calipers 80A615105AB/80A615106AB are ok ? or only the Q version ? Thanks

      Yes they are
      Only issue it from me sucking at painting

  • @matthewdixon5951
    @matthewdixon5951 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    so basically youve downgraded your brake set up by going smaller than stock discs to accomodate the calipers?

    • @ERAutomotive
      @ERAutomotive  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d say a lighter caliper with 4 pistons is an upgrade to a single piston heavy caliper
