I’m in a situation where the adoptive mother doesn’t understand trauma and she has decided to erase me.
It’s heartbreaking but I’m strong and don’t let her ignorance get to me.

My number one reason why I hate adoption:
I’m a birth mother who was promised an opened adoption. The adoptive parents told me everything I wanted to hear before I signed the papers however, the adoptive parents and I had some issues, I suggested going to an adoption specialist but they did not want to work anything out, so they decided to block me.
The trauma my son has experienced has been largely ignored, I have been educated on the trauma. The adoptive parents have decided they are better than me and I should be erased.
Recently, I reached out and my son blocked me. As heartbreaking as it is, I’ve grown stronger and learned to love and appreciate myself.

Hi Winter! Hope you and your family are having a wonderful Christmas. Just had a quick question about adoption/foster care. In the state of SD how many kids are allowed in a room? What's the rule of a little boy and girl sharing a room? When adopting two separate kids can they share a room or can only biological siblings share a room?
Thank you so much for sharing!

Great question! Off the top of my head these are the rules:
No kids can sleep in foster parents bed.
Boys and girls must have separate rooms after they are 5 years old. (Biological relationship doesn’t matter)
Every child needs their own bed and no one is allowed on that bed. Not even the foster parents.
For respite you can offer a couch or cot.
Pack and plays are okay for toddlers.
      I hope that helps!

I know it’s so hard. There’s definitely is definitely a dark side to adoption. Thanks for sharing your heart about it.

How much did you pay per kid? #adoptionsucks

I made a video about how much foster parents get ‘paid’ if you want to check it out! Normally you get $500 a month reimbursement from the state while the kids are in care. All the financial responsibilities go to the foster parent except for the medical insurance. I hope that answers your question.
