There is a glitch that people dont know about where if you use Aim mode for bow characters and enter paimon barrier, it confuses paimon and by aiming in right positions, paimon will lead you further inside paimon barrier, aiming at certain points also allows you to coordinate paimon so she would lead you to place you wanna go to, like if you aim down to ground paimon will make you walk right while aiming straight makes you walk left
the way celestia shrinks as you get closer to it makes me think that it's some kind of size adjustment, so that it always looks the same size in the sky no matter the distance. i dont think the 3d model would be visible from inazuma otherwise
I'm pretty sure Celestia isn't placed at a specific coordinate within the world map, but rather in the sky relative to your own position to emulate its actual location. And to avoid having to spawn and render a massive floating island, it's a tiny model instead to save up on resources.

@@Asm0sday do you know the definition of the word "maybe"? The very first word used in the original comment? This word by itself implies that it's a theory, it may or may NOT be the case. What we know NOW is that Dottore and Scaramouche said somewhat similar things about "the sky". It could be a metaphor (that's what I thought at first since Scaramouche's line was directed to Mona), but could be very literal as well, since shady stuff surrounds Celestia.
Who said anything about a bug? The Celestia model is functioning exactly as they intend it to. Which is for it to look relatively the same in the sky no matter where the player is viewing it from. This isn't some lore thing. Besides we already know Celestia is a real place. Nothing about that line implies otherwise.
It’s more likely they just appropriately assumed no one would get up there, and that celestia is programmed to stay a certain size to the player so that it’s always visible but never too large.
even if you were able to get there, it wouldn't be a solid object and would only be rough polygons that will be TOTALLY different if the place will ever be a destination for the traveler.
It looks to me like Celestia is designed to be a fixed distance away from the player, so that it looks the same size no matter how close you get to it. When viewed from above, this can cause it to be pushed into the ground. Given how quickly celestia went around you at 7:59 shows that you were very close to the center point (such that Celestia will always be in line with the camera and the center point). Probably just past the radius of a typical world boss arena.
Pretty sure this is what happened. It's never expected for us players to be above of Celestia as of patch 3.2 Also, they actually have Celestia's coordinate to emulate Celestia position and then emulate it to the player at a fixed distance. That's why its never getting closer to the Celestia. While somehow when you suddenly getting pass the given Celestia coordinate, Celestia is already behind you.
@@陈祥智-y3v I think we will never be able to move to it from the Teyvat directly, so it is it's final version, except the model of it can become more detailed. I think this will be separate location like Enkanomiya or Chasm.
It is certain that this is not entirely the case. When viewed from Inazuma and for example Sumeru, the island does differ in sizes. So its definetly not a fixed size
Celestia's position is in a specific 3D spot, but the 3D model is anchored behind it and orbits around it to line up with the player's position. This allows Celestia to be displayed around the game dynamically while maintaining its relative position. It's like a trebuchet: the traveler is the payload, celetia's 3D model is the counterweight and the rotation axis is the actual position of Celestia. Naturally you were never ment to see it that way. it doesn't "shrink" in size, it's always the same size, you simply got very close to that axis so you saw it nearby and broke the ilusion.
It's less we're not supposed to see Celestia from above and more it's pinned to the very edge of the skybox in game. Since the skybox is constantly moving with your character, Celestia will also constantly move with your character. Celestia isn't really "shrinking" in this case. It's just far out of reach no matter what parlor tricks you use.
As someone who also found the glitch Its really fun to mess around with, I personally put a portable waypoint on top of the desert pyramid, very cool views. 😎
My guess on the reason of it being smaller is that since we were never meant to get closer to it, it stays the same size? So as we get closer to Celestia, it gives the illusion of shrinking, but actually stays the same size. If that's confusing, think of something floating in front of your face, unmoving and unchanging in anyway. This object invariably stays, say, a foot in front of your face. Even if you walk forward, you aren't getting closer to it, therefore it's size stays the same in your eyes.

Basically, celestia currently is a part of 3d skybox, sort of like cityscape in HL2, that gets projected into your view based on math and your position in space
I guess this explains why I ended up with a hugely varying circle on where Celestia is after pointing a bow at the centre tower & looking at the arrow angle on the map from multiple locations.
A tip when your walking -if you get above celestia you can glide and then if you glide you are able to walk in any direction but you start going down and it takes stamina!
Further evidence that the way the game loads in is just straight up weird sometimes.. This to me is almost like the evolved form of every time I try to take a picture of Sumeru from Watatatsumi/vice versa and the actual island or land formations just disappear when I go to look at them directly.. But when you angle the camera away it seems fine. I can't imagine how lowkey agitating this journey was for you Moosashi, so thank you for the effort and I hope a later patch lets players like you finally reach Celestia.
I just figured out the transparency/disappearing of celestia. It's a visual effect tied to night-time. It's intended to be looked at from below so it gets shaded differently at night, apparently with a transparency. I found a baller spot in the desert to look at it from, wondered what the hell it was watched this video and looked back at my game to notice that exact thing. It might also still be 2-d ish. Thus the getting smaller as you get closer. A VERY weird game texture that's for sure.
I quit genshin a few months ago (weapon banner summons first time gone really bad), I'm telling you the truth as a player who addicted more than a year of his life to a game, once you quit, YOU CANT GO BACK I really like the game but its hard for me to get back to this "daily route" of commissions, and keeping an eye 24/7 on your reisen. YOU, and only you, from all of the about 15 genshin TH-cam creators I used to watch, is the only one that makes me motivated to go back and play, and the only one that actually makes entertaining content for me that makes me wait for a new video. keep it like that, and hope you will reach 100k very soon (BTW I'm here from I think around 5k subs)
if you mald out because of banners and routines i think it is better to stay away from gacha games in general (and its ok dw i understand). for me genshin is my first game with a fleshed exploration, combat and tidbits of lore so natural it is that i come back every patch. the resins and dailies do get tiring, but i never felt to force myself to it which is lucky for me. however i can definitely guarantee there are better selection of games on a similar genre out there that you can actually enjoy playing, maybe even more with friends
I think the real problem is Celestia is not getting smaller, but more like it's never getting bigger OR smaller. It's always the same size relative to where the character looks at it.
It call Parallax [mapping ? scrolling?idk], it just a way to make thing looks like it have depth but also doesn't need to actually modeling the whole thing, reduce lag. the image prospective move as the camera(you) move.
So from the look of it, they're doing a "moon simulation" with the celestia model. IRL, the moon is a very large object very far away from the person looking at it, so moving around on the surface of the earth doesn't really change it's apparent size relative to the viewer. It also has it's view blocked by any terrestrial object passing in front of it because it is behind everything. This creates some strange effects if you see the moon low on the horizon while traveling, as your brain will try to estimate the size of what it's seeing relative to what else it may be seeing. I once watched the moon "shrink" while traveling down a highway because it came up behind a relatively large building in the distance. As I got closer to the building, the building went from a silhouette with the moon behind it to a large thing that covered most of the moon in my vision. The moon stayed the same size in the distance however. These can be simulated in a game by fixing the size of the object relative to the viewing camera independent from the distance of the two objects, and having a flag that says the object has lower view priority than other objects. This could by why it seemed to be clipping through the ground when viewed from above and was the same size even when you got right next to it. You weren't meant to get that close, and the object was meant to look far away and huge from any distance. This is the only way I could think they could do this without printing it on the skybox again.
it's a 3D trick used in some places the places of the object changes from where you are looking, if you are looking from down, the object will be above the XY is the same, but Z is changing. if you are above, the object will be down, seeing how it gone underground, i think this is how it programmed. short answered, you can't reach Celestia ever for now.
7:55 it's not getting smaller, it's staying the same size. looks like what they did was just have a transparent 2d image be shown on screen between the character and some fixed point in the game world to create the illusion of the object actually being there, but being really far away.
in the version 2.8.5 (3.0 beta) a LOT of things were accidentally let in the game and a LOT of things were broken (the paimon barrier literally not being there is one of them) One of the things left in was a very low LOD model of celestia (LOD = Level of detail) and one of the things left out was the "protection", meaning you could, in fact, get to it. (don't ask me why it happened, it makes no sense) There's nothing to look at it, it's just a mess of polygons made to look like celestia :) If mr moosashi wants I could probably get some footage of it. But it's really nothing special
Developers: damn, these geniuses keep climbing and climbing into Celestia, we repeat: YOU CAN'T GO THERE! Random man on TH-cam: U can't stop me, I WILL.
As cool as it would be to visit, i would assume its similar to a skybox in that it doesn't actually exist beyond being relative math. Thats probably why it moves in strange directions, the code probably isn't dummy checked to keep working in those cases. It could definitely be real but still unreachable without something to bypass that
this is probably the case here, if celestia's 3D model is in a sky box, then it would be impossible to reach it by going towards it, as the sky is, quite literally, fake, moosashi would need to figure out where the sky box is, and odds are he will find a miniature celestia, that is, if it even exist, not really that familiar with all the ways to simulate a sky in games
If you go to Shirikaro Peak and look toward Liyue you can see a similar effect to the one you saw on Celestia. It seems to be a rendering glitch with fog effects. As for Celestia getting smaller, I imagine it's not really bound to the world, but rather coded to be rendered in screenspace.

Just wanna say I appreciate the proper subtitles on your vids
I guess this explains why I ended up with a hugely varying circle on where Celestia is after pointing a bow at the centre tower & looking at the arrow angle on the map from multiple locations.
With this video I discovered that a place called Celestia exists in Genshin Impact.
A tip when your walking -if you get above celestia you can glide and then if you glide you are able to walk in any direction but you start going down and it takes stamina!
I’ve been looking forward to this video for some time now, glad to see you Make one
I remember there being a glitch where you can somehow fly into the beginning cutscene of Aether and Lumine fighting the unknown god.
I wonder what sort of update Celestia will get next region, Fontaine... I have a feeling it might become a lot more substantial at that point.
I did wonder why no matter where I was on the map, it always seemed the same size.
It’s fine we still can’t reach celestia, but see teyvat from above was amazing how big this map expands
Albedo elevator while doing a pose makes you go high up lightspeed 💀
Peak genshin content right here👌
When Celestia was going underground it just wanted to visit Kheanri ah
I quit genshin a few months ago (weapon banner summons first time gone really bad),
I'm telling you the truth as a player who addicted more than a year of his life to a game, once you quit, YOU CANT GO BACK
I really like the game but its hard for me to get back to this "daily route" of commissions, and keeping an eye 24/7 on your reisen.
YOU, and only you, from all of the about 15 genshin TH-cam creators I used to watch, is the only one that makes me motivated to go back and play, and the only one that actually makes entertaining content for me that makes me wait for a new video.
keep it like that, and hope you will reach 100k very soon
(BTW I'm here from I think around 5k subs)
if you mald out because of banners and routines i think it is better to stay away from gacha games in general (and its ok dw i understand). for me genshin is my first game with a fleshed exploration, combat and tidbits of lore so natural it is that i come back every patch. the resins and dailies do get tiring, but i never felt to force myself to it which is lucky for me. however i can definitely guarantee there are better selection of games on a similar genre out there that you can actually enjoy playing, maybe even more with friends
I used to think it was the jade chamber
these shots look so pretty
"The sky is fake"
The 3d model at the start of the vid reminds me of the hyrule castle stage from smash
they really dont want us to go to celestia huh
I used the idle animation glitch to get my friend to inazuma far earlier than normal.
I think the real problem is Celestia is not getting smaller, but more like it's never getting bigger OR smaller. It's always the same size relative to where the character looks at it.
There is a video on TH-cam titled 3D Celestia and the false sky that gives you a pretty good up close look at Celestia
Can you give me the link?
I couldn't find it

@@RetroApo oh, thanks
If paimon didn’t exist or didn’t tell us that we can’t go there we would have went to celestia by swimming
THE ARROGATION OF MANKIND ENDS NOW!
- Celestia getting further away
Celestia is actually getting closer in each update, so we might go there earlier.
And that’s why it was going down
It call Parallax [mapping ? scrolling?idk], it just a way to make thing looks like it have depth but also doesn't need to actually modeling the whole thing, reduce lag. the image prospective move as the camera(you) move.
there's a glitch where you can use wanderer to infinitely fly without him using stamina, you should definitely try that out
hey, considering its been a year and we already have the area right bellow celestia, + a 3D model of it. you think it'll work now ?
WOW how does any of this even work? 😮🤯 I hear you, glitches but this is my first time hearing about them at all
Maybe the real Celestia is the friends we made along the way.
Thanks for your work,at least we all know what happen when you get closer to that celestia.
ooh a full moosashi exploration of the idle glitch? i can't be the only one who could not be more excited
i miss that kazuha main that glitched their way to 2d celestia hahahha
i loved the part where he reached celestia.
do this again. the court of fontaine is the closest to celestia so far.
This is the only way I could think they could do this without printing it on the skybox again.
it's a 3D trick used in some places
the places of the object changes from where you are looking, if you are looking from down, the object will be above
the XY is the same, but Z is changing.
if you are above, the object will be down, seeing how it gone underground, i think this is how it programmed.
short answered, you can't reach Celestia ever for now.
Remember guys, the sky is fake
i flew from liyue to inazuma using this glitch on ar 25 today
Traveler san is the best Genshin content ever.
7:55 it's not getting smaller, it's staying the same size. looks like what they did was just have a transparent 2d image be shown on screen between the character and some fixed point in the game world to create the illusion of the object actually being there, but being really far away.
Hey Moosashi, have you checked what Celestia is like since 4.2 came out?
can't do it now, the glitch has been patched
The size of celestia's 3D model is so small thats the reason why it sinks into the ground once you get close to it.
My curiosity for 2yrs is finally answered
If you go up you can see trough celestia, the moon also crushes trough the map.
in the version 2.8.5 (3.0 beta)
a LOT of things were accidentally let in the game and a LOT of things were broken (the paimon barrier literally not being there is one of them)
One of the things left in was a very low LOD model of celestia (LOD = Level of detail) and one of the things left out was the "protection", meaning you could, in fact, get to it.
(don't ask me why it happened, it makes no sense)
There's nothing to look at it, it's just a mess of polygons made to look like celestia :)
If mr moosashi wants I could probably get some footage of it. But it's really nothing special
one does not simply walk into Celestia
....
nevermind
@@OsqueOs Sky being fake is still not confirmed
@@goodplay3661 I could be wrong but I believe they're talking about game design, which yes, in this case it is "fake" (by gaming standards).
There's an elevator in Aaru village as well. Maybe it can work better?
If you go to Shirikaro Peak and look toward Liyue you can see a similar effect to the one you saw on Celestia. It seems to be a rendering glitch with fog effects. As for Celestia getting smaller, I imagine it's not really bound to the world, but rather coded to be rendered in screenspace.
this guy probably saw the future map of teyvat..
