I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. As of Beste zangers. Next Saturday april 12th Floor will be performing Phantom of the Opera with operasinger Henk Poort. He performed the Ducth Phantom in the past. I am very curious what you think of that performance next saturday.

For a year and taking this into account, her performance is very good, in my opinion. It takes years to become a great classical singer as far as I know.
@@Immortall1408 Yes it does, it took me several years of voice lessons to learn how to sing opera well, so the fact that she did this after only a year of training is incredible!

She start a Little tour in the Netherlands with the Marcel Fisserband. ( the band on beste singers ) sold out in one day
Only 3 months after joining Nightwish on tour, Floor performed this piece for the second time on this program. She first performed it here on "The Tenth of Tijl" in August 2010. This Dutch program invites non classical singers to come on to do classical numbers.
I am now reduced to a puddle... She released a sneak peek of her and Henk doing Phantom on this weekend's BZ on her own TH-cam channel. It is gonna be EPIC! 😋 ❤️

Definitely more Floor! I did listen to your version on Spotify and I liked it (even I don't usually love so much opera singing). But I found there also Ain't No Sunshine... that was pure love at the first hearing!
Oh, yes! This is a recording, i think it was 2012 or 2013, from a Dutch TV show about classical music.

It is not a competition program, just a celebration to the music where all the singers have to sing some song of the other or one song that means something special to them 😉❤️

You just gave a perfect example of "positive criticism" which on TH-cam, is rare. Many people feel it's easier to tear someone down or bash them for errors when, all it does is show one's own insecurity wrapped in arrogance. Thank you for the great review and I'm looking forward to your reactions to the Beste Zangers songs. They are great and show Floor's diverse talents.
Ofcourse it's a very sad song, so I understand why she chose to sing everything with the corners of her mouth downwards, as if she's about to cry. You have to smile to create that lift, and that doesn't suit the song very well. In your first reaction to her (Ghost Love Score) you actually complimented her on the use of lift, so you know she can do it. :-)
Yay you reacted to this! This was the second time she performed that aria on a show like this, IIRC. It’s a noticeable improvement from the first time, I think, but that’s definitely an layman’s opinion. Would be cool if you could compare them at some point, but thank you for your analysis and doing more vids on Floor!
There is also a recordinternational on TH-cam were she performs this live on stage with her former band Revamp. That one is even better. Here she was nervous. If you are going to react to the Beste zangers, you are a bit late ;-) as the final episode was last night. This is as always the duet episode. I’m not going to say much but Floor had the last performance and it blew the roof off. As well as the media explodeerde afterward. #Phantom 😎

I love Tarja, but the descending portamentos, beautiful vowels and control on this video, prove that Floor is also a better classical singer.
during her introduction to the audience in this show they showed a clip of her going full metal in concerts...then you can see a little girl looking confused from the screen to Floor thinking...that can't be her ! always cracked me up

I'm curious of what you would think of her performance of the Vilja Lied in the show Beste Zangers. Your opinion on this one was interesting. I thought that she looked a bit nervous, which is understandable, doing an aria, which is something she never does, on television, for an audience that did not know her and all that. I loved her version, and I think that's all that matters, in the end ^^
Floor isn't an opera singer in the real definition. She had a one year crash course on something the pure opera singers spend years learning. Its much more than just the mechanics of makijg that sound. So that Floor was able to do that then is even more impressive to me. She is a mix of every singing animal we know, mostly wolf though.
Nu the lack of tattoos we know that this must be some time ago 😊

opera really is a different beast. so much more expected from a singer. even if she prefers to do more mainstream and "heavy" stuff, i think she has benefited from her classical training (although limited one), no doubt about it.
but, we haven't seen her doing this stuff anymore for years. i hear we will get a glimpse of it next week (duet with Henk), but i'm a little bit afraid it won't go as well as many hope. she already did "phantom of the opera" once, and it didn't work out quite well. i wish her the best to nail it this time, it would be a sad ending if the last episode of beste zangers would end in a little disaster.
considering we have had a preview of that performance, including high note, a disaster isn't happening whatsoever :P

Her version is actually quite good considering she doesn't have a lot of classical training, let alone opera. Her vocal abilities are amazing, never seen anyone like her.

You should know by now Floor is going to sing in her own way. She fits every song to her way of singing.
Don't put her on a pedestal. She wouldn't want that and has even said she thinks she can always improve, and she does. This was 2013 and she sounds much better now than back then.

funny how people who are not famous or got a chance to get to the level of Floor state how would they could do it better,,,ok get famous and show us all ( the whole World how it should be done,,,but until then keep your remarks to your self.
You are you she is floor. I will have to compare your version with hers. If you can sing this better than floor you need to be singing on stages as large as the ones she sings at.
This is impressive in today's standards? A nasal, constricted, and core-lacking sound? Smh.
