Watching these scambaiting videos are hilarious because there usually isn't a single thing in the scammer's script that is based on the reality that anyone lives in, but then I watch Jim Browning's videos and I'm absolutely shocked at the number of people who believed the illogical nonsense.

So I pray that things have been better for you, and if they haven’t I pray you’ll continue to push through, have tenacity and hope and courage that they CAN get better as long as we’re still here.
I don’t know you my friend, but you are a kindred spirit nonetheless and I feel for you as this world can be so, so cruel but there are people that still care and understand and there always will be. I am so proud of you also for reaching out and not being ashamed of your vulnerability because it can ALSO be our superpower if we allow it.

They do this in hope that you may find them nice and sweet and then can build a rapport with them. If they can successfully build some form of a relationship with you, you then in turn become a long term target for them who they can exploit. That's why they also say things such as "I am like your son", "I am like your grandson". It's all BS to harbour some relationship so that they can exploit the person. These people are pure scum.

My parents were scammed out of $3000. My Mom almost got taken for $20,000 but fortunately the bank folks knew her ( small town) and they convinced her it was a scam and they called the police. FedEx came to her house to pick up the package. She was in early stages of dementia, they are scum.

They could just be defaulting to male pronouns, which they sometimes do by accident. "He" and "she" translate to the same word in Hindi.
