I’m in the camp that I never want to see the Blackwater massacre. It’s integral that Arthur (and you the player) doesn’t know what exactly happened.

John probably doesn’t remember her in RDR1 when the strange man says her name because it’s implied that by that time he has heavy PTSD and he prob blocked everything out
Title said “forgotten” Heidi McCourt but she wasn’t forgotten. In fact, her name bears a heavy weight on the fate of Dutch and the gang
John forgets about who she is in RDR 1. Her memory kinda died with Arthur.
I wish we got to see Mr. McCourt or something dealing with the loss of his wife and unborn child idk

I think her being the protagonist of red dead 3 could be extremely good. Strange man talks of her as « someone far more important » than he is, what if she actually was someone important? She could be related to this theme of outlaw and redemption, what if the game could end with us knowing that she’s about to die, killed by dutch in Blackwater? What if she was another example of person trying to do things right and end up killed, along john and arthur? I think we could have something extremely deep and interesting there.
Personally, that’s what i want for red dead redemption 3.
