      I was a military brat, and my father was stationed there from '86-'88. I don't remember much, but my favorite memory was watching the street lights from the barracks and being delighted when I saw snow drifting in and out of its beams. I also walked to school by sneaking past the guards and crossing the autobahnen. Got in serious trouble for that stunt 😂.

    Smoking factories in Mannheim are mainly those of industrial giant BASF which is placed on the other side of the Rhine in Ludwigshafen. Mannheim did not have greater industries left yet, or some like ABB or John Deere and Südzucker AG to mention some of those, ... Mannheim has a red light district for sure, it is in "Neckarstadt West" and in Lupinenstrasse, almost everybody knows about that,...

      I was stationed there in the early 70's, there was the downtown street, walled off, called Penastrausse. Not sure of the correct spelling. MP's would patrol fairly regularly to enforce off-limits designations that several prostitute windows had spray painted underneath them.

    "suprisingly its among the top 20 cities of germany" 😁 hahah bru i coulndt even name u 20 big cities in germany lol but maybe thats because im from berlin. but afterall germany is small man!.. so mannheim beeing one of the "top 20 cities" isnt a big suprise for me, when in reality mannheim might still be more of a "big village" or town rather than an actual "city city" if u know what i mean. (not trying to hate on mannheim tho 😂)

    Hallo mam. How to find an apartment utpo 250 euro

    • @TripleSalchow
      @TripleSalchow ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe in Neckarstadt-West, but watch out, its one of the districts with the highest crime rates, there are a lot of bordels, drug addicts and so on. There is barely nature, it often stinks. And even there it is hard to get an apartment for 250€, probably you'll have to pay at least 350€, but it's still cheaper than other districts of Mannheim. Since Neckarstadt-West is one of the cheapest districts, many students live there. I'm really sorry for them lol.

    I am not going to sugarcoat it, Mannheim is an ugly city compared with nearly every other German city. Even the castle is lackluster compared with the many glorious castles and palaces that you can visit in Germany. HOWEVER, there are lots of hidden gems, has very reasonable rent prices, excellent public transportation, and generally a good quality of life. I have lived in 5 other German cities, so I feel qualified to say that Mannheim is not bad! Another avantage is definitely the lack of hordes of tourists! 😂
