The Zeitgeist film series has awoken millions of people, including myself.
I had always understood the pieces of the puzzle, but didn't quite understand how they all fit together.
Zeitgeist put them all in place for me. It allowed me to see the entire picture at once, and ultimately realize that 99% of the worlds problems stem from the SYSTEM ITSELF.
And almost all issues, including human behavior, are byproducts of the SYSTEM ITSELF.
Thank you Peter for taking the risk you did, and continue to take.
You have made a huge positive difference in this world. Can't wait to see this fourth installment!

However, personally I didn't notice the details of the presented connections, but it stuck to me how these belief systems are generated, shaped, and how memes - the bits and pieces - carry and builds on each other, joins with psycho individualists and suddenly we have a belief system.

Have you caught wind of the One Small Town Contributionism model? I highly recommend checking it out. Michael Tellinger has many videos on his channel about this. It's a community-led model of cooperation, collaboration and co-ownership to build such prosperity and sustainable abundance that we eventually would make money obsolete, which could be described as a Natural Law Resource Based Economy.
How do we get there? We need some platform that we can be part of that helps organize the projects and shares brilliant innovations in a safe way that won't be stolen and hidden by the corporations. That's what One Small Town Contributionism has been working through for over 10 years.

@@endthelogin The light side of the force is where bravery, cooperation, joy and passion should come together to create more light in the world, in the Universe even! That's what we can do in this era. This is the era of system change. Look at all the union strikes going on around the world! The people are fed up. The system of capitalism is fundamentally unsustainable and we are seeing it collapse day by day. Many people don't yet know the source, but they know the result and symptoms of the sickness of capitalism.
We can unite and get on a better path towards a healthy, sustainable and free society that makes poverty, politics, money and war obsolete!
      R. Buckminster Fuller, Jacque Fresco and many others would be happy to see it. As will the future generations be thankful, if we do this, that we didn't let the world blow up, because it wasn't cost-effective to save it.

    • @coolioso808
      @coolioso808 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@endthelogin I respect your world view is based on your research and experience up until this point. I disagree with your human nature perspective, not because I want to disagree, but because the research I've done and the evidence I've seen is to the contrary. 90% of human history, anthropologists will confirm, we lived egalitarian with no money, markets, social stratification or dominance. It was against our ethic of survival to pick winners and losers among humans. If human nature had to be such a dominance, winner/loser based condition, we wouldn't have made it this far at all. We would have killed ourselves off with our selfishness, perhaps like the Neanderthals did. Now, you may say that everyone was 'equally poor' in those hunter-gatherer days, which is a matter of perspective, once again. It was technologically primitive, sure, but it was highly successful to live in that sort of cooperative structure.
Maybe the reason you think in the modern day it is always a struggle for dominance is because all you've ever lived in is a monetary-market society that is dominated by capitalist forces. Capitalism is domineering by design. Winners and losers are Owners and Workers/Poor. Capitalism is thus unsustainable, unjust and unhealthy. That's what Peter Joseph and others like him have been trying to show and explain for well over 10 years now.
World wide peace, prosperity and modern egalitarianism might be impossible to envision in your lifetime, and unlikely to fully be realized in just 20-50 years, but I have no doubt in my mind some communities, some countries and groups of people will make it happen for themselves. They will show that cooperation is far more desirable, sustainable and healthy than economic competition, dominance and exploitation. You and I, and others, will have the choice along the way to join that or resist.
Winners and loser might always continue to exist even in a Contributionism, moneyless society, in areas like voluntary sports participation or sibling rivalries, etc. but the key difference would be that money would not be a means of enslavement and exploitation. People would live in localized abundance, getting what they need, all the basics and more. Because your suggestion of "someone always wants more" isn't for everybody. It isn't for most people, based on statistics. Once people's basic needs are securely met, it's not like suddenly everybody wants a giant mansion, 10 cars and a butler.

I'm also actively learning about and pursuing community development options for system change, along the lines of what Peter talks about in "A Viable Society" and I've found one organization that can help. It is One Small Town, based on the principles of Ubuntu Contributionism with Michael Tellinger. Have you heard of it? It's 100% free and voluntary, for the people, by the people, and with the goal in mind to change the unjust capitalist system through creating a better one. A system not of exploitation of other people and infinite growth of using resources for the profit of a few, but a system of cooperation, collaboration and co-ownership to the point each community can become sustainably mostly self-reliant, ending poverty, homelessness and many of the other problems that come with that.
All it would need is a few hundred to few thousand in a community committed to start it up. All they need is at least 3 hours per week to contribute as members and the ball starts rolling and everybody starts seeing the benefits.

In this trailer he laughs at Milton Friedman who in a separate video brilliantly explains how something as simple as a Pencil is created and distributed through markets; PJ cannot explain how he would do the same by micromanaging every aspect from mining the materials, logistics, manufacturing, distribution etc not to mention PJ promises "abundance" meaning everything available to every human at all times which means 8bn+ of everything. Amazing, important, excellent work of art here, Peter, thank you! Very excited to see and share this film when it is out.
I hope to see this as a motivational catalyst for true system change, community level co-operatives of mutual aid that pop up around the world with a new sense of spirit and passion.
With collaboration, cooperation and co-ownership we can create localized communities that put the 'unity' back into 'community.' One step at a time, one day at a time.
This is the era of system change.

Hard to believe it's been 13 years since Moving Forward came out! I was active in my local TZM chapter at the time, and I hosted a screening at my university. We actually had a good turnout of about 100 people followed by a discussion. One of the coolest things I did in college.

That's great! Wonder if you could get those community members, and more, to see a screening of Zeitgeist: Requiem and followed by a Q and A about actually establishing a community development organization that is capable of system change from the ground up through the strategies and ideas from the film and other sources like Peter's book, The New Human Rights Movement?
I find a lot of good compliments between TZM and the One Small Town strategy, based on the principles of Ubuntu Contributionism. And that system is already set up and ready for communities to use, as needed. For the people, by the people, 100% free and voluntary to join. That's the opposite of capitalism with wage slavery jobs. In Contributionism, it is always free and voluntary for anybody to contribute, but through the sharing of abundance built into Contributionism, and the collaboration to create abundance and prosperity, everybody in the town can start living better.

Why does this channel not have millions of subscribers?

    • @coolioso808
      @coolioso808 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Good question. Maybe it's too deep for a lot of people to digest in their daily life. I get it, you get it, and looks like thousands of subscribers get it, but there is a limit. This stuff can be actually pretty depressing if you are left with the dark truth and don't feel you have answers. I think this film is supposed to end with answers for how we can change this. But by the looks of the trailer, that isn't obvious just yet.
I could show this to my friends who have kids, who have various challenges in life, like we all do, stress, financial issues, work-life balance issues, etc. and they might just disregard it because it doesn't give them anything tangible to do after, even if it's true.
That's my assessment, anyway. I could be wrong. But I think there are so many caring, passionate people, and they need something at the community level to latch on to and then they can be more open to a broader education on systemic issues.
Let me throw out a scenario: A community adopts the One Small Town Contributionism model put forth by Michael Tellinger and his team. This town has about 50,000 people and 5,000 sign up as members of this Co-Operative organization built on the principle of cooperation, collaboration and co-ownership. They get investors, but the majority stake is always the people, at least 60% is owned by the people of all the projects, from food to energy to water to clothing, housing and more. It's a co-operative network unlike anything quite like it before.
This OST Cooperative does have a national Ambassador who helps the town start this organization, and it has several Project Managers who are paid as they manage projects or co-owned businesses that the people of the town need or desire. Everyone else is a volunteer member putting in at least 3 hours per week. They could be picking up garbage in the park, fixing bikes, renovating homes, growing food, tending to community gardens and kitchens, etc. All of them earn a 'token' that then gives them access to free goods and services created by the fruits of our collective labour. They also get dividends from the profits of the sale of the excess goods sold to non-members for the best price, better than capitalist corporations can charge who have to pay employees.
Now, imagine that set up in town PLUS the release of Zeitgeist 4. That would mean, I could say to my friend with kids, who is busy enough as it is, but tell him if he, his wife or teenage son can contribute 3 hours to any Co-Op Community project of their choice, they will get those rewards I talked about. That's a much easier sell than just showing the film and then ending with "Well, if that's true, I'm depressed now and have nothing to do about."
Even I would be much more motivated if I knew a Contributionism-like Co-Op was in my town that I could work with. I'd be happy to screen the Zeitgiest film and do a Q and A panel or something if I could also relate any questions about "What do we do now?" back to the Community Co-Operative.

@@ADyingFaith Yeah, I feel for ya. I see so many people in my life on the brink, whether they have a job they like (for the most part) or they are sick or injured and can't work, and everything in between. They are all beautiful people, with amazing gifts and talents that aren't being put to their best use and given the opportunity to have a healthy work-life balance. We can have that. We just have to build that reality, step by step.
It's hard to start, believe me. It's hard to get that support group to take the next step, but I'm trying, and I know that once a Contributionism Co-Operative starts up in my town, there will be people willing to pitch in because they'll quickly see the value and benefit in it.
What are your skills and interests you'd love to express and contribute to society? I'd love to provide education, mentorship, coaching, and some general fixing and cleaning projects with others. I'm not a great artist, so I'd leave that to the many amazing artists I know.
That's the beautiful thing about a real Contributionism Co-Operative. We don't say no to your passions, we say YES, please, contribute your passion, it makes our town better.

The solution is bottom-up, decentralized, emergent love. Do what you love, freely, whenever you can. Wean yourself from the dinosaur meme of life as a competitive point scoring game, and spend your time finding ways to take good care of yourself and your community using local, free resources whenever possible, so that we slowly, and surely, build a healthy world that supports life of all kinds. Find your niche. Tell your story. Ask others for their stories. And focus on real needs, rather than corporate addictions.

You follow a 'libertarian' view ... which in your words sounds like a positive approach to community organization (just like anarchy promises to do).... yet the common way people treat the idea, as some laissez faire / free-for-all Capitalism, like I think Milton does, is deeply flawed.
Unless we're focusing on everyone prospering at a healthy level, without cost to others, the mentality of 'freedom' is garbage.

After listening to everyone for years, the ONLY possible way I can see to transition us OUT of this insanity would be to make it financially worthwhile for people to SHARE the jobs that almost all of us would AGREE we NEED to have done and work much less. No more a system where everyone is primarily working and doing 'anything' FOR money but a system of SHARING the work that we agree meets our NEEDS. No more a system that demands infinite growth on a finite planet.

Could be! One Small Town Contributionism model of cooperation, collaboration and community co-ownership is already out there, with Michael Tellinger's long history of developing this strategy. That model, in tandem with the ideas and truths that Zeitgeist IV will put forth could really be a powerful motivating force.
The IT platform is ready to go with One Small Town and that means people in communities, if they have a country Ambassador, like USA already does, they can get started today, or very soon. Just as long as they have enough willing members, 1,000 or so for starters, and growing, would be good enough! Starting with local food projects, moving to water, clean energy, quality housing and then everything and anything else that invigorates a community and reduces exploitation and stress on the people by their employers.
With voluntary co-ownership, and only needing 3 hours to contribute each week, it means the transition has a good chance. It doesn't mean quit all jobs overnight and start a homestead outside of town. No, it is about using the tools of enslavement as tools of liberation. Poetic justice.
