      He has a very high potential to drive happiness tears in my eyes, because he has all the words I'm missing and it's not like the classic religious kind of this, like he manipulates my emotions, mixes some basic truth, plausibility in an idiology which I believe then, but he is partly just a couple thoughts ahead of me, but in some parts not and it is already touching when he talks about what I think then, exactly like I imagine it but in more clear or words at all, because it was always a problem for me to put my emotions, thoughts and ideas into words. And in this interview he mentions almost every point which I think is extremely important and everything absolutely clear, rational and causal, down to open-source and what he tells all around it, just perfectly. But the interviewer, the host is also amazing, she is completely into the conversation and so is asking the important and right questions, points out important and right things and reacts emotionally real, no masks here, you even see it on Peter's non-verbal feedback, it looks like he feels home.
      But I still wait that he says clearly how we start off, this is the point how we can get people involved, I lived in a hamsterwheel for a long time, while I knew already about Jacques Fresco, RBE and the Venus Project, but you can't think when you are running in this wheel, you hear only what makes your life better, easier, you don't have the mental capacities, nor the time to even listen, that's also a very important thing for consumption, promises that consuming something will make your life better, pay for holidays and you will be fine, drink beer and you will fine, buy a relaxing chair and you will be fine, and so on, while everyone knows that while holidays we only wait for and fear the last day of it to get back into the wheel, that we feel bad after drinking alcohol, tired and done in the early morning, a relaxing chair is only good as long we sit in it. So we need to focus on basic income and sharing work, it must be one thing, always mentioned as close together as possible, no basic income without sharing work, not talking about sharing work without mentioning basic income. This is what all the people living in this hamsterwheel need to know and understand, at the moment they don't, they think they will just pay so others can relax all day, by what I experience most they don't even understand that they will get basic income aswell and sharing work means they would have more free time without losing anything, I think this is also very important for social stability, for the need, desire for fairness. Everything is there what we need to realize sharing work, there is temporary, subcontracted work, which is used for maximum exploitation, as soon as people can't fulfill the expectations, they get simply replaced immediately, from my experience many leftist women do all the human trafficking for the companies, they really think they help people and don't see the exploitation, if we get some of them involved, ideally one worldwide operating company, we could sign to them, together with the contract they make an online profile for us, which is used for a website and an app, where we are added into different groups by the information form our profile, information like which jobs we are allowed to do, which jobs we are willing to do, in which radius around our home we are willing to work, times when we can work and a filter for companies we don't want to work with, Mention! We don't want to work FOR companies, but only WITH companies, because we are the companies, the companions ;) Reality. In this groups we don't message around, but just type in the time when we want to leave, to go home, early enough for sure, and everyone in this groups gets a message or a call in case they don't use the app that there is something to do someone agrees, this agreement is a contract, which people make with this companies every time they go to another company, so everything is absolutely legal, in case nobody agrees, the system checks the informations and how many hours everyone worked, generates a list and one of those "leftist women" decides about the priority. This is actually doable even without a basic income, but since we want more freedom, we need to buffer the missing hours, so we definitely need a basic income, but I am personally against an unconditional basic income, to keep it short, people are used to decadence, laziness and greed, some would relax from the basic income, but I mostly fear that those with a job would be the bigger problem, many would just take that extra money and keep all the working hours, so there must be some basic conditions.
      From this point we can begin to build up a propper economy, reduce production, reduce work, but to do so we need to do needs assessments, which are completely realistic even globally, this was actually not even imaginable to do it even for small towns, but since there is internet, it is absolutely possible. Connecting through systems like SAP we could have a direct connection from a shopping-list app on our phone to production, we check what we got from the self-service warehouse aka. shop and everything else is done automatically anyways, the system checks how much is on stock and so on, the production could be optimized with basic algorithms like PID regulators. All it needs is an internet connection and something that has any kind of communication port, even if it is just a serial port, the user interface can be very basic and with some effort probably even work on Arduino, no one can tell me that it isn't possible, people in Africa inhale more computers in their short lives than it would need for a big part of Africa and it could even be central terminals with a profile system and delivery system instead of self-service warehouses.
      And you know what, this two basic softwares could be developed already in open-source, I have basic ideas how it would look, but I'm such a noob in programming, it would be great if Peter would make an appeal about that, definitely it would be nice if all of you would spread it, if you agree.

      Trade is not exclusive to capitalism. There was trade during slavery and fuedalism. Capitalism is only 2 things that were not present in slavery or feudalism: 1. wage labor 2. Reinvestment of profit for more production. The thing is that those two characteristics are antagonistic to each other, in other words workers want higher wage, but capitalist want more money to reinvest in other oportunities.

    Best argument against capitalism is to imagine how the Internet would change: 99.9% reduction in trolls, spam, ads, paywalls, malware, spyware. Infinite increase in free and better quality software, music, movies, games, and factual information!

    • @Dhumm81
      @Dhumm81 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @Gabriel Vincent Moon
      Why fewer trolls? Capitalist/corporate conglomerates have MASSIVE trolling operations.
      Why better music and movies? Both industries are overwhelmingly dominated by a few mob-like capitalists/corporations which all have the same objective: maximum profit from minimum investment.
      Systemic Capitalism ultimately rewards psychopathy with monopoly. Evidence: Edison, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, Ford, Walton, Gates, Bezos, etc.

    At the heart of capitalism is peoples' false sense of scarcity and thus their desire to hoard resources, which necessitates the creation of a financial system so that people can efficiently exchange those resources when they are no longer needed. If people could get past their false sense of scarcity, it would suddenly dawn on humanity that we don't need to own things, and therefore no longer need a market system, nor any economic system for that matter. It would further dawn on people that we also don't need to separate ourselves geographically into separate countries. A new social order would then emerge on this planet that would be far superior to what we have now.

But as his arguments stand from this video, Ben would demolish him within 5 minutes.

    • @mattgraham296
      @mattgraham296 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      darrentg6 capitalism was built on the foundation of slavery and still requires cheap labor to survive. How do libertarian philosophies account for a world that will barely need human labor? Shapiro can argue for a broken system all he wants, but the person defending Wall Street (the epitome of free market trading) can not win the argument. Peter Joseph is arguing for the creation of a system that is more efficient and innovative. It’s a very logical approach in a very irrational world.

Just say 100 years ago someone may have said everyone should be reading books but we would have to cut down all the trees , but now with innovation we have the internet. No need for CDs, videos , books etc. The capitalist system holds back certain breakthroughs that would help everyone. From what Peter is saying the ruling class may not have a choice soon if this civilisation follows the trends of all other civilisations , which is to collapse, just this time it will be on a global level.

    I think Peter Joseph is spot on regarding politics, the environment and empire. I was rocking along until he got into the standard unrealistic progressive dream of the sustainable alternative energy nirvana where we all continue to live large growing food in vertical farms producing hundreds of times what we currently do.
    Sorry, Not going to happen.
    Please understand, I am not a troll. I am a realist. I live in the country in midwest Merica. I work from home, have solar panels and a large garden that produces a lot of what I eat everyday. I do not participate in the grotesque consumer culture any more than absolutely necessary. Actually living the "sustainable alternative energy nirvana" I know what alternative energy can, and cannot, do.
    The thing that is never explained when you hear we can power our world with 100% renewables is that word "power" implies electricity only not transport liquid fuel. In the 2015 book, "When Trucks Stop Running: Energy and the Future of Transportation" by Alice J. Friedemann, she outlines in great detail how there is literally not enough material to get to 100% renewable energy if living the way we currently do is a constant.
    In raw BTU's of energy liquid transport fuel (which is used for not just cars and truck but the massive mining/extraction equipment, planting/harvesting equipment, processing/distilling plants, etc) is 80% of the energy we use every day. That's not going to be replaced by battery powered equipment. There is not enough material to make the batteries to do this.
    The energy density in liquid fossil carbon (oil) can not be replicated in any known technology-period.
    Yes, there are electric cars and even some experimental electric trucks but they are not going to scale up. Sure, the rich 1% might get to have them but not the masses.
    Vertical farming has proven impressive in the production of vegetables in limited space. The problem is there is no working model of vertical farming when it comes to grains-and grains are the largest need to feed the world. Plus vertical farming needs a ton of energy to run all those lights and pumps. Not to mention all the raw materials it would take to manufacture all that hardware.
    I know Abby remembers Michael Ruppert. I'd suggest reviewing his work product of the last couple of decades. After that I'd suggest Post Carbon Institute, Peak Prosperity and more. (all can be found here on TH-cam).
    We have to be realistic about our future. We are not going to live large and keep growing. Remember, less is really more.

    • @tzm_tvp_rbe5808
      @tzm_tvp_rbe5808 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tesla is going to be releasing an electric truck (electrek.co/2017/10/07/tesla-semi-electric-truck-prototype-elon-musk/).
      Remember, ICE is only 45% efficient (the rest is lost to heat), electric motors are over 90%.
      We have other sources of power other than solar and wind at our disposal. There is geothermal (look for geothermal powertube for more) which can power our entire planet many times over. We are also looking at the real possibility of fusion power in the near future.
      All of these technologies are held back by the Petro-dollar, you simply cannot take a $3 trillion a year industry and throw it out the window and expect the global economy to survive. That is the reason for the slow transition away from oil.
      As for price of those technologies, you have to remember that in a RBE, there is no money, thus, there is nothing holding us back but ourselves.

    • @joeblow7489
      @joeblow7489 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So, I really hate to be the Doubting Thomas in the comments but Tesla can't even build the cars people have made deposits on. Besides... As Alice Friedemann points out in "When Trucks Stop Running: Energy and the Future of Transportation" a perfect example of the inability to scale up electric trucks is in just one port in California, The Port of LA & San Pedro. There is a 1 mile stretch of road from the docks to warehouses that that utilizes catenary trucks to move goods.
      Researchers at CALSTART show that to electrify the 10,000 trucks for the full 23 miles stretch of roadways between the port and inland warehouses would take 1% of all of California's current electric generation.
      1% = 23 miles...
      How many ports? Now how about the millions of miles of roads necessary to deliver goods to all the stores, homes and business.
      You see it is not going to scales up!
      I do completely agree that the fossil Carbon industry has a choke hold on any attempts to work towards this goal but I really, really, want to make sure that everyone that holds this sustainable alternative energy nirvana so tight that it is simple not going to scale up to the way we currently live.

      I fear you may be right Joe but with the climate apocalypse incoming there isn't really much more we can do than to push these technologies and implement what alternatives we can in our lifestyles.
      Keep in mind that animal agriculture is responsible for more emissions than all transport combined. So to further lighten the global burden, I recommend veganism. Besides, animals are innocent and whole-foods plant-based diets have proven to be the most effective for preventing & treating chronic disease.

    Couples headed by 60 year old persons should own the following:
    * an owned residence, if only a 1 bedroom condo;
    * a median value of liquid funds (accounts in banks/thrifts/credit unions, money market funds) of about $50K;
    * around $500K of mutual funds indexed to the stock market.

    I like Peter Joseph. I think he has a lot of great ideas. However, he has made a career and garnered no small amount of wealth with his ideas, films, interviews and books. The issue i have is that "it's ludicrous that poverty exists".
    Guess what bubba, YOU CAN FIX THAT RIGHT NOW.
    Go pick a hobo, give them 100 k in cash. Or, fly on down to Africa and pick a kid, had them a giant check. Nothing quite like wealthy, able people complaining about problems they can directly affect, yet doing none of it.

    Automation of our society will bring about transition to a RBE.
    Not saying capitalism has been depressing the poor and middle class.
    Capitalism had its purpose but a new modern system is needed today as the convergence of technologies taking over mundane tasks.
    As innovation of technology ramps up exponetially.How will the monetary system continue with the 90% of the population not working they have no way of sustaining them selves. The implementation of a universal income can help with the transition to a RBE.Then as more work is taken up by automation then the system can change for the betterment of all.

    c´mon dude, they are poorer also because the west developed most of the innovations that brought about enormous wealth "creation" and , seriously, dont fool yourself , capitalism has been a major force in that respect. Sure, colonialism is a factor but check out the list of scientific, social and cultural advancements and tell me where and when they originated. A different story is whether capitalism still is a force for development and there i would argue that, no, it isn´t anymore. It never was idyllic (to say the least) but today it has become a hindrance in many respects. There, we agree

      Right? It's unbelievable how basic and stupid people defend this system, I have so many conversations about that and always read the same ridiculously shortsighted argumentations, like "Greed and egoism are natural, just look at the squirrels, they hide more food than they can ever find again" or "Theft is natural, look at hyenas, they steal the food from lions", but they are absolutely unconscious about the cause, about scarcity, that the squirrels do it only before winter when food becomes scarce, that hyenas live in the dessert where everything is scars, but even there mostly eat small dead animals or wait until the lion is done and eat what's left, that only if they are extremely hungry, they take the risk to steal the lions food", so scarcity is the reason again, it's unbelievable how stupid people became by completely losing connection to life, to reality.

    I agree with quite a bit of what Peter has to say, especially being critical of the consumer mindset, trying to build a more cooperative society, not destroying the earth etc; but the major problem with his arguments is that he constantly criticizes capitalism, yet fails to even acknowledge that the system we have is technically not really capitalism because government interference is so vast in scope & power in the system we have. In fact, many of the specific criticisms he levels against capitalism are actually just the result of government collusion & over-reach. Huge difference between crony-capitalism and real capitalism. If we had real capitalism we wouldn't have a situation where so much of every major corporations business model includes buddying up to big government for favors, and assistance in reinforcing their monopolies, those things are the polar opposite of a real free market.

    • @fuckenps3
      @fuckenps3 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      He doesn't make a distinction. The state of crony capitalism is just a part of the web that is our current economic paradigm. The reason the government acts as it does is because of the same fundamental economic incentives.

    Ever since Mr Joseph was involved in the Venus Project, I've come to respect his opinion on the future of humanity. The only flaw I can see in this argument about open-sourcing everything is the motivation for people to then innovate. It's a great idea to focus all the best minds on solving a single problem and open sourcing the results/methodology. But if no one gets that golden carrot (think in terms of a financial bonus) dangled in front of their face, what motivation do they have to finding the BEST result? Sure they can find a solution, but why would then spend more effort/time on solving the issue? All humans have a desire to solve things, but no one person goes out of their way to make something unnecessarily difficult on themselves.

      The question is: what are we going to do about it all?
      How exactly do we get from where we are today to a Whole New Way of Living rooted in Love and Wisdom?
      i don't mean solutions. We already have gazillions of creative practical solutions that have not been implemented yet.
      i mean how exactly do we get into a position where we can actually implement those solutions on a grand scale?
      Please present your proposal. Spell it out: step 1, step 2, etc., and be as specific as you can.

      We already have gazillions of practical creative solutions.
      What we don’t have here in the USA is at least 80 million individuals who are well-informed, free of disinformation and misinformation, on all the major issues of today AND devoting their time, energy, talents and resources to make sure that only the most Loving/most Wise among us become our public servants.
      Then and only then will we be in a position to actually implement them on a grand scale and finally begin the process of transitioning to a Whole New Way of Living rooted in Love and Wisdom, with little or no need for government.

      My idea is to implement self-sustainability practices on a local level (even as local as your own body/house) and then work outwards from there. The easier and more appealing we make the alternative for the average person the more the movement will grow.

      The dynastic plutocratic families, the corporate oligarchs and the international banksters, many of whom are zionists (like the neocons and members of AIPAC) and/or members of secret societies, dominate the mainstream media, the legal system, the financial system, the intelligence agencies, the police and the military which has secret advanced weapons.
      Some say: ignore them and their system, and we will build our own thing.
      Unfortunately, there is no place to hide. Eventually, their tentacles will catch up to you.
      Moreover, they are destroying Mother Earth's ability to sustain life, and they have weapons of mass destruction which can accelerate that process.
      What will you do when they use all their resources to undermine your good work as they have done so many times before throughout history?
      Do you really think you and your children will escape their grasp? THINK.

    I like the e-Trading documentary where they ask the 'quant' programmers at the end if they have stocks themselves - and they all laugh or chuckle and say "No!"
    Capitalism works if it is heavily regulated and forced to absorb it's external costs (environmental damage, living benefits and wages for workers, etc.). Without the regulation, it's just global fascism based on environmental destruction.
    Check out electronic barter systems. They do work. The only problem is they are taxed.
    According to Bill Moyers (Moyers & Co) in 2013, the US minimum wage would be $21/hour if it had been allowed to increase with inflation alone. Doesn't that clarify everything for you?

    • @robertparrinello1687
      @robertparrinello1687 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If inflation alone even contributed to a 1/4 percent of what the wage should be it would be way past $21 an hour! And so many MORE PEOPLE would be priced out of a job! Capitalism works great and anyone who is motivated can live comfortably. Those who are extremely motivated can do even better! Blame the low minimum wage on the government, along with most other problems average people face these days.

But atleast he does it whilst trying to change the system.

It's an example of what Adorno would refer to as "no right living in wrong life". A paradox bound to affect those advocating real change. A hypocrite it does not make.
