Hello......The hole/corner jig (6” FLUSH-TRIM HOLE TEMPLATE & RADIUSED CORNER) is sold out on you website. Are there plans to make more, have available for sale?
Haven’t experienced any tear out with this method. The issue is down cut would force all the saw dust, and there is a lot, down to the bearing where it rides along the template. Bearing would get gummed up a lot faster and a smooth flush cut might be compromised. This is my unscientific opinion anyway.
Love you video, thanks for sharing. Pretty new to woodworking so excuse me for this question. What kind of router do we need to use? A fixed base or plunge router? Will a compact trim router work?
So glad you enjoyed it, thank you!! Routers are one of my favorite tools. I own numerous, but if i has to get just one it would be a 2.25 hp. My router was part of a kit with both fixed base and plunge options and I enjoy my plunge. Palm routers are great!! But just for trimming (like a round over for the board edges) but will fall well short of a 2.25 ho when I’d come to cutting (like cutting the 6” hole). I hope that helps. Bosch is my favorite for routers
@@cornholecollective7116 Just to clarify, I ordered and received your corner and hole jig so my question is: Will a 2.25 hp fixed based router work with this corner and hole jig?
We’ve got a video titled “back away from the hole saw” that lays out the process, and then we actually made these in a fun Facebook live video in our new group!
Love the Cornhole boards you make. The overlap design is great looking. Would it look good with 1/2 inch plywood? Or would that be too thin to have for an overlap design?
Recessing the frames will always look better in my opinion. If your tops are high quality 1/2” go for it. If they’re cheap plywood, they might be more prone to damage if you recess the frame.
So, do you prefer the spiral bits over typical straight ones for rounding corners on plywood?
Spiral burns a lot less than fluted, bits last longer it seems too. You don’t get all the melted glue and pitch build up.
@@cornholecollective7116 Thanks!
Love this idea.
Pro Tip: The harder wood you make your template out of, the longer it will last.
Most definitely. Or, cheap and easy to replicate works too. Thanks for watching!
I did something similar, but used a router bit with a bearing at the top, and just clamped the template on top of the deck.
Absolutely, a flush jig can be top or bottom mounted depending on your bit.
Do like using the flush trim hole better than the template u did for the router base?
I like both. I got a plunge base for my palm router that isn’t the right size for the baseplate jig so I use the flush version for that.

I’m sorry Glen but at this time we do not plan to replenish. Taxes and shipping made it too unreasonable to produce unfortunately.
If your router is on the top of your board, shouldn't you use a down cut spiral bit to protect against tear out at the top?

Should make a video of making your template

Ok fine Scott lol. Guess I won’t be able to cheat. Thanks for letting me know.
Sold out huh can’t make more hole and corner templates I was really excited about it till it said sold out
Unfortunately we’ve chosen to stop making and selling jigs. The shipping expense became too great to make it feasible.
Why tape only at one end? Why not both?
That tape was just left over from cutting the decks from whole plywood.
Hey
