Medellin, Colombia: Quite a First Impression

- It seems as though everyone has an opinion about Medellin, Colombia. Many times those opinions are based on news reports and what happened in the city in the past. I feel confident in saying that Medellin is a vastly different city than the one that was dominated by the drug cartels, back before 2000. There are still issues, of course, but I found the city to be comfortable, exciting and full of inspirational stories.
Take a look at some of the main sights to see when visiting Medellin. There will be plenty more from the city in the weeks to follow!

Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for TH-cam is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational. Perhaps you will come away from my channel with ideas about places you would like to visit or be inspired to forge your own way.
I travel slowly, spending four or five weeks in each destination. Hopefully, that will allow me to go beyond the surface to find the essence of each location. By the end of 2024, I will have visited 14 countries and five of the seven continents. Come along for the journey!

The Palace of Justice looked so interesting! Between the architecture of the building itself and the art on the upper floors, I feel like I could spend hours browsing there!
It was a total surprise! No one else from my tour even went higher than the first floor. I was fortunate that I made it to the fourth and fifth floors!

Parque Arvi looked like it could have provided some very interesting hiking. Sorry to hear you decided not to purchase a guide, maybe you'll change your mind. Glad you still got to experience the cable car ride. Great shots throughout the entire video. Medellin looks awesome!
Thanks! One other thing about the guide is that they only speak Spanish. Essentially, you're just paying someone to walk along beside you.

Thanks for another interesting video! Just curious--does Medellin have lots of churches as do the cities in Mexico you have visited?
That surprised me a bit.There are a few churches, but they don't seem to have the same stature or significance here as in Mexico.
