- Medellin, Colombia is one of those cities that most of us have heard about over the years but few dare to visit. In this Medellin Travel Guide we hope to show you how much this city has transformed by taking you on a tour of the city through the neighborhoods of Comuna 13, El Poblado and up to Parque Arvi - a beautiful mountaintop park! MEDELLIN is fascinating, you have to visit it in August for the flower fair, which is beautiful, or in December to enjoy its Christmas lights, which are the best in all of Latin America and are among the top 10 in the world according to NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, even in 2022. They were made in collaboration with DISNEY, that's how relevant they are.

Spent months traveling around Antioquia and Jardín is BY FAR the most beautiful town in Colombia. Take the 3.5 hour bus from Medellin from south terminal. Stay between 8th and 13th st in Jardín.
That neighborhood with the rappers and dancers was so colorful. It's amazing that they turn it around like they did using art. We could use more of that in the world!

it is not safe anymore. the criminal gangs are targeting foreigners because they know we have more money. They are using Tinder and tourist areas to target us.

Been to Medellin several times. Well worth visiting, a great city for digital nomads. It's one of the cheapest cities I've been too. I'm blown away by how affordable prices are, even for Latin America.

Thanks guys! I was there in 2016 and some of those projects were just getting started, so it's very nice to see how well they've progressed. Medellín has done an incredible job revitalizing their city! After my visit, I took combis and buses down through Colombia stopping in Jardín, Manizales, and Popoyan-- highly recommend, if you keep on going. Looking forward to where you go next!

Communa 13 looks like such a cool neighborhood. I love all the colors and action going on. Those rappers were so cool! And I was really impressed with the public transportation! Definatly not what I was exception in the best way!

I'm moving there next month. I'm not old enough to get a retirement visa (ya gotta b 65) but you can stay 90 days and get a 90-day extension per calendar year. I'm going to scoot around to Costa Rica and other nearby destinations to flesh out my yearly quotas. I must say, I'm most excited about this place (El Poblado and Laureles, primarily) and maybe when I get old enough, l can do something more permanent and fulfilling. Sitting on my patio here in sunny Winnipeg with a cup of tea,my doggos and being entertained by the so funny Adam singing Raffi songs and beautiful Heidi doing a bit of salsa under a bridge. Life is good! I am amazed by this beautiful city and enjoying every minute of the journey with you. The ride up is nice, but you are warned not get off in any of stops and venture into the different neighborhoods. Enough with the rose glasses. In Medellin you are told to carry your backpack in your front, not on your back by the police in downtown, in the morning

It definitely has that La Condesa, Roma vibe. That Cafe Noir looks like my kind of spot. It's bougie but, still affordable. The art is fantastic. Some of the best food can be had at markets and grocery stores. This city looks absolutely amazing. The views from the mountain area are fantastic.
