    Why use this case if you're just going to jank it up with the fans on top? Why not get something just a bit larger that doesn't ruin what's supposed to be a clean, minimalist aesthetic?

      you are right it doesn't help much visually but it fits perfectly and it's effective, they are placed using magnets and I can remove them but it helps thermals during long renders. If I spend a long time without intensive renders I usually remove them.
      I've been running that velkase since the rev 3.0 came out and I usually try to stick to a case as long as possible. I have an M2 on order since a long time now, looking forward to switch to it.

    Yo I've been considering doing almost the exact same build myself for a while now and this looks amazing

      Cheers mate! That velkase is a joy to build.

    instead of that 4tb nvme, i'd buy a m.2 to 10gbe nic, and connect it to a NAS instead
    btw, i just gotta say tho, the front io extensions, for simple wiring, are GENIUS
    haven't seen anyone else do that

    Nice build. Any possibility of seeing some benchmarks? I want to build a new workstation rig for 2D Illustration and animation but I'm starting to dabble with 3D.

      about 22800 in cinebench R23. It's pretty good but I can't turn on PBO with that noctua cooler to get a better score. I'm doing a lot of 3D work and most of my work of last year has been rendered using that computer. you can check it here: www.artstation.com/artwork/qeY8Qz
      I'm upgrading soon to something else, I have a Ncase M2 on order and a fractal Terra to build a new system in, looking forward to upgrading!

    Great build and I'm definitely doing a SFF build soon so I'm just looking at different cases because I'm not sure if I'll need a case that will use the GeForce RTX 4060ti storm or the 4060 LP gpu. I like the Velka 3 case but you could have gotten the case by JoyJom which is the same size in specs but would have had to buy a second riser cable because the one included is a gen 3 but you still would haved saved about $90 when you look at the price of the Velka 3 and their riser cable together. I'll use the same mobo and cpu but with the all black version of the cpu cooler for esthetic purposes. The other case that I looked at but is specifically for the LP gpu is the LZMOD Mini A24-V6 and it's a inch thicker than the Velka/JoyJom but gives me room for a 54.5 mm cooler instead of 36 mm. From some builds that I've seen like yours the heat issue was more from the gpu because these single fan cards put out a lot of heat so in these small cases you my have to do a little undervolting of your gpu. Hope that helps so you can do away with the fans on top.

      Yeah velkase is not really a cheap option as you have to spend nearly 400$ for the case/power supply and riser if you get everything from them
      But build quality is outstanding, everything fits nicely, it's steel and it definitely has that premium feeling to it.
      Yep the L9A in black is beautiful! With a 54.5mm clearance you might squeeze a ID cooling is 55 ?
      The gpu i'm running (A4000) is running super cool as this cooler is overkill for that gpu TDP, even with the power mod it stays pretty cool.
      The single fans GPU like 4060s yeah they run hot... As it's more a workstation for me I'm not really bothered by running a pro GPU.

      @@smallrtech my sffpc using same CPU and mboard. Case I managed to get with build in 2 top fans in sub 5L build. 5.33L to be precise. Google up M24Pro if you looking for alternate case options. CPU I managed to undervolt it with some tweaking here and there, idle at 53c in room temp 24c. Max out under 80c. CPU cooler using AXP90-47 Full Copper with Honeywell PTM7950.

    I love Crucials minimalistic RAM heatsink design, too bad the timings on their kits are absolute ass... Not that it really matters for productivity!

    Where did you get the magnet screws? I wanna do something similar to my velka 3

    • @smallrtech
      @smallrtech  10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I did use glue to attach the small magnets on the small rubber pads of the noctua, in the chromax black version you get multiple of these so you can just use the color you don't plan to use and replace them when you don't want the magnet anymore!

    hows ambient and cpu temps? did you undervolt it? ive had trouble trying to cool even my 3600 in a beefier cooler than that. would love to know

      thats interesting, whats the temp
      like? i have axp90 x36 with 7800x3d and im only finding 1% 80c spike and temps hover at 65-75c

    • @foggleirum
      @foggleirum วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ralphytness8264 hovers around 70 to 80C on Alpenföhn Blackridge, with a single noctua fan. currently its around 30C ambient here, but im hoping something else is wrong on my setup but i cant put a finger on it.

      It's mostly a matter of luck with AMD processors. Sometimes you might get one that runs hotter than usual. I once had a 3900x that stayed really cool, but my 5900x kept overheating even with a good Noctua cooler (NH-U9S). On the other hand, the 7900 I'm using now is great; it's sitting at about 60°C when idle and goes up to 85-88°C (90 max) under heavy use.

    • @smallrtech
      @smallrtech  วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@foggleirum That 30°C is pretty hard! usually tests are made in 21-22°C environments.

    • @foggleirum
      @foggleirum 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@smallrtech those are really good temps for that CPU and cooler combination. i could retest it on ~20C ambient temps, but since 30C is the most realistic scenario i would work in, i guess i have to recheck and size up my cooling solution to compensate for that either way.
