E tier? That's a first lol. DMSound- if you're able to test the new Bang & Olufsen system on the 2025 GV80 that would be awesome! Curious if it's better than the old Lexicon.
S tier, probably a Volvo S60 or a BMW i4. There might be a way to configure a MB with the high end burmester system for less, but I haven’t heard it or tried to configure one. And A tier? Probably the Mazda 3 hatch with Bose.
Yeah I have an AWD Pro S and the sound system is pretty bad. Thought something was wrong with it at first. Not sure if the problem is with the speakers or amp?
Thank you for taking the time (and consistency) with your reviews. Can you elaborate on what's not good about the sound? You mentioned it's "so bad ... doesn't sound right" (11:59). And later, with bass set to max it's "slightly more bass-heavy" (12:49). In your final thoughts "even vocals didn't sound good/right" (16:11). But why is it bad? Is it related to freq curve/dips, or freq range (lacking bass)? And therefore, what would fix this vehicle? e.g. Do your tests involve Bass/Mid/Treble sliders adjustment (beyond your one max-bass test)? Could it be corrected with an aftermarket sub? Door speaker upgrade? Or does it need more copmplex power/freq fixes via an upgraded amp or DSP correction? I listened closely to this video with earbuds and good speakers, and I'm feeling like this '24 ID4 has muddy lower-mids, and too loud upper-mids (compared with your S-tier reviews).
A better and more powerful amp, higher quality speakers, and a subwoofer could all help tremendously. I'm not an audio engineer, so I couldn't pinpoint exactly how to fix the system. However, I do know at this price point, the audio quality is severely lacking.
Hey Charlie, have you ever done a video where you compare numerous sounds systems that you have tested in the same video? Maybe you have and I've not seen it or found it. But speaking for me, when I listen to your videos, I do use a nice set of over the ear headphones. Not super expensive, but certainly not cheap ones. And it's difficult for me to hear what it is you are speaking about in your videos. For example, if I didn't see your rating on this VW and you didn't say anything till the very end, I'm not sure that I would guess that you didn't like this one. So if it would be possible, it would be great to hear something like this for 15 seconds and then the exact same 15 seconds of the song on something you consider a B tier and then the same 15 seconds on your top rated system. Doing that back to back may help us zero in on what is that true better sound. Thanks.
Eh find this over-reactionary, have been in many, many cars with significantly worse audio systems than the ID.4, the base system on IONIQs, the base system on the Bolt (hard disagree that you think it’s better) and other GM models, base system on many Ford models, many base Nissan systems, Toyota systems etc. The base ID.4 system is fine.
VW replacing Honda for the worst factory systems
I buy this for 25.5 dollars
It’s good price for it
Yeah Hondas probably a c+ maybe B- now with their bose system.
they usually had pretty decent systems for what they were but this 😟

@@esotoamore specifically, the Ioniq 6.
@@snakeeyes9246 Seems to be a trend then for base trim EVs to have audio systems?
@@Anonymous-bs8itseems like it, but the base tesla model 3 actually has a p solid sound system. It's prolly a mid B tier system if I had to guess.
@@Anonymous-bs8it for mainstream brands, yeah. There are several EVs with A and S Tier systems from the premium brands.
Two questions. What's the cheapest car with an S tier system? What's the cheapest car with an A tier system?
S tier, probably a Volvo S60 or a BMW i4. There might be a way to configure a MB with the high end burmester system for less, but I haven’t heard it or tried to configure one. And A tier? Probably the Mazda 3 hatch with Bose.

The speakers could have definitely been better but I did notice when I play music using Android or Apple carplay it sounds X 10 better
Perhaps a review of the revel ultima 3D audio system on the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus. 🧐

Can you review the new Mercedes E class with the Burmester 4D? Thanks! Also a Tesla Model S would be nice!
What about Volvo EX30 with H/K system?
Any chance to review the Audi A3/S3 2024 facelift Sonos system? Thanks :)
They put the Sonos in the new A3? Dang. I have a '22 A4 with the B&O, and it got a B according to Charlie.
@@snakeeyes9246 yes, and its interesting to see if there is improvement. Hopefully it can get an A 🫣😀

Right, but not at this price point. And, until recently, this was all you could get in the ID.4.
Have you heard an audio system in a modern car that you would unquestionably give F-tier?
Probably something like a base delivery van
Dear god the compression- jesus
bruh e tier lmao
Yikes
