Great video, NinjaNerd! Thanks alot! Tip for Boozing students: eat some honey after a night on the town. As your NAD+ gets consumed to metabolize EtOH, you're depleted in it the morning after (hangover). You need NAD+ to keep your sugar metabolism going (glycolysis) By eating honey (high in fructose) you're restoring NAD+ levels (fructose-->glyceraldehyde-->glycerol, with the last step making NAD+ out of NADH) Or...just drink less ;)
Finally! Finally, finally; after literally years of searching for how ethyl-glucuronide gets into urine I have started to learn the answer. I am a drug and alcohol counselor whose only education in chemistry has been from self-teaching. As a counselor, one of the banes of my vocation is telling someone they have an EtG positive UA result. Actually, UAs in general are a bane. I don’t like not understanding something so important. So I searched for an answer. I know how the liver breaks down alcohol to acetate etc., but no clue to where the EtG or EtS came from until now. Well, more to learn so onward through the fog. Oh, and thank you for an easy to understand answer.
This video was the coolest one. In my opinion every med person need to know that part of biochemistry. It is essential for everyone. Its like one step and one giant skip. :) and you did it perfectly ❤
I think you also need to add " alcohol metabolism" to the title because when I searched about it , I didnt saw your that video. Great explanation, thank you so much 😌😌
Great Job as always. Please add to the hashtag or something in the description of this video that it is talking about phase 1 and phase 2 metabolism. I was searching for almost the whole day to find this video.
Thankyou so much sir... I seen many vedios of xenobiotic metabolism but I didn't understand anything,,,but you made me understood it in so easy nd perfect manner thank you so much sir... God bless you ❣
Can you put a blurb in the comments? I'm not a student I just find this very interesting. Your videos are so damn consumable and full of info I appreciate that they exist
