- VICE went to Arizona to meet up with Brother Dean Saxton as he was preparing to protest the screening of a documentary about a rape survivor.
In August of last year, campus preacher Brother Dean Saxton caused outrage after preaching at the University of Arizona and holding a sign that read, "YOU DESERVE RAPE."
This is typical behavior for Dean, who believes, among other things, that women shouldn't be allowed to attend university, that feminism is evil, and that immodestly dressed women are asking to be raped.

@Saladdin I have to disagree with you. While wearing revealing clothes can draw attention to a person it should not be treated as a "risk factor" of rape. If someone chooses to do something as despicable as rape another human being, that decision was all theirs, and it has nothing to do with what the victim was wearing.
Clothing is just that, clothes. Material cut and sewn into an outfit, it's not something that can "protect" someone from rape.

I know personal experience doesn't account for much, but my modest clothing (including hijab) hasn't stopped any disgusting creep from saying/doing what they wanted. They're not foolish, they know I'm still a woman underneath. Pepper spray, tasers, pocket knives, ridiculous self-defense tricks, avoiding dark places and dangerous neighbourhoods.. THAT is being careful and most women already do that. This doesn't help when rapists are often someone we trust, and not the "stranger hiding the dark" we expect them to be.
