I'll never forget this day, a decade ago. It began like an ordinary day in T.O. and people were continuing to go about their business when 'all he'll broke loose.' The superstorm began with two severe thunderstorms joining forces. I could see the dark clouds gathering over the west and northwest, then I could see flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder, then it began to rain. The storms would intensify, with the lightning and thunder getting more frequent and louder. Next thing you know, the roads were turning into rivers just about everywhere. Some parts of the city lost power, including the Kingsway and Islington Village in Etobicoke, where I resided at the time of the storm and continue to do so 'Til this day. The subway trains turned back at Jane Station, and shuttle buses operated between Jane and Kipling stations *there was flooding inside that subway station). This video looks like it's taken just outside of Islington subway station. The is flooding under the bridge, and motor vehicles including TTC and Mississauga Transit buses (which ran out of Islington Station at the time) are splashing their way through the rain water.
