BRAND NEW McLaren ARRIVES at The Shmuseum!

- The brand new McLaren Artura Spider has been revealed, and I can share with you a full first look directly from The Shmuseum! With the first car being delivered to my garage, join me for a tour of the brand new open-top supercar in detail, including the roof mechanism and new upgrades!
From first owning a McLaren over a decade ago, when I had revealed my MP4-12C directly from the McLaren Technology Centre, to taking a first look of their brand new model right at my own private space, this was an exciting delivery. Along with the launch of the Artura Spider, McLaren have made a host of updates to the Artura line-up in general which cross over to the Coupe as well.
The 3.0 litre twin turbo V6 now takes power up to 700hp (over the 680hp before), the updates for which will be offered to existing customers subject to region via the dealer network. However, with the introduction of a folding hard top that opens in a mere 11 seconds in near on silence, a number of elements have had to be re-designed including the chimney for the hot-V engine, and the flying buttresses that like the 720S/750S, incorporate a clear view to minimise blind spots.
There's a lot to explore in addition to the roof as we go top to bottom over the new Artura Spider to take it all in. Thank you to McLaren for the incredible opportunity to tour the car in my own space!

It is a ready sexy spec. And yes, McLaren sticks with the same design language. But they don’t all look the same. But considering they use singular platforms and build different models off of it, yes there are going to be big similarities.

That was very cool. I wasn’t too aware of the atura besides knowing it exists, but this especially with Tim’s (hi)story with McLaren had me intrigued in the car and what a beautiful Maschine it is. The spec is also phenomenal. And how cool is it that they allowed you to show the car first!

It’s amazing where Tim’s hard work has got him. He’s clearly a valued, trusted customer, though im sure having such prominent customers is not lost on mclaren from a PR point of view. I’m sure just the fact that several of their products featuring strongly on the channel has done them no harm at all, especially as they’re known not to be garage queens!

I own 675LT Spider #180 (#680 of all LTs) and I absolutely adore it. For the price, however, this Artura Spider really has me excited and now starting to ponder a trade. The coupe is interesting, but this new spider is so much better looking and includes all of the benefits you've noted (i.e. the rear window). I'm looking forward to test driving one.

Tim, awesome you got to be the first to review this. I have to say, it looks phenomenal. I dunno i saw an artura other day and thought it was boring, but I have changed my mind. People need to get over the less than 8 cylinder thing, that engine sounds great , but interested to hear vs the 296 which sounds amazing. Frankly car companies need to figure out 6 and 4 cylinder sound, there's no reason those engines can't sound better. 600 hp is 600 hp.
