Really enjoyed this video. I'll have to look up the other. I had a friend back in college (long ago) who was a great storyteller and DM. Listening to the discussion tonight was so much fun for me. It shows that the game (D&D or Pathfinder) isn't so much about winning or having the most awesome character as it is about the story and enjoying time with friends.
At our table in the Kingmaker adventure path, Amiri was an NPC that I brought in when the players needed a bit of help in combat. She died in the fight against the troll leader in book 2 and was reincarnated as a dwarf. She is now and forever more "Dwarf Amiri" at our table. Amiri is definitely my favorite character in Golarion lore.
She does have VERY Dwarven energy doesn't she!?

Personal favourites :
5- Arazni : her story is so sad
4- Ameiko, just because of the Jade's Regent stuff
3- Sorshen, because she's the best of the Runelords and the Runelords are freaking cool
2- Taargick, first King of the Dwarves. Because the dwarf people needs a ruler. Many LotR vibes with the Moria.
1- Nocticula. Yes, I think I have a kink for powerful and sexy female characters.
Many have expressed shock at my apparently unforseen betrayal of demonkind and ascension as a nonevil deity, to which I reply: unforseen how?
You know, as a demon lord I could have chosen any appearance to suit my whims, but did I greedily give myself a set of massive honkers? No. I chose a modest, solid C cup. I mean, perfectly proportioned, to be sure, but if you think ya gal didn't strongly consider a bra breaking pair of gravity-defying mommy milkers, seems you just don't know me that well, do you?
I chose the middle ground then, and that restraint has guided my actions ever since. My actions may seem extrem to planar elitists, but I assure you: in the grand scheme of things, I'm a damned centrist, affording my own neutrality on a moving plane.

My personal top 5 is:
5. Tar-Baphon. An iconic villain with amazing presence.
4. Cressida (from Korvosa). My players really liked her and I ended up liking her a lot too.
3. Areelu Vorlesh (game version). The AP version is boring, has 4 lines of lore and isnt special at all, but the game version is an intelectual and a source of many questions.
2. Xin. I love his backstory, he was one of the only azlanti who could see beyond their pride but it ended in tragedy.
1. Sorshen. My favorite runelord, she is interesting, hot and their is a lot of lore about her arround so nice.
Areelu is a great character, like you said, she was utilized better in the games than the adventure, but the adventure could have the Gm spice her up a bit also!
Apparently the writers liked Cressida a lot because a recently-published high-level adventure has her as the queen of Korvosa.
Now that the first two episodes have been released I can definitively opine that Amazon should have set their show on Golarion instead of Middle-Earth. Morfydd Clark as Galadriel doesn't really work, but as a stoic Paladin of Sarenrae should would be absolutely perfect. It's not like Pathfinder has 0 brand recognition. It was the #1 selling TTRPG for a time.
I haven't seen Rings of Power, but I've heard it's a terrible show where none of the characters are likeable. Also, it's basically Amazon money laundering.
Just goes to show that you can't trust large corporations run by lawful evil people. They try to dictate what people should like, but fail to realize that fans of existing franchises deserve respect.
@@zenvariety9383 The main character is certainly unlikable and looking at the costumes and some of the set pieces one does wonder where the billion dollars is actually going.
@@themightypen1530 my guess is it's a tax write off. That and they want to pander to a toxic woke fanbase rather than give true fans what they want.
If you want to do diversity correctly you don't bash people over the head and insult them for having an opinion. You make quality content and don't comment about the diverse casting that's there on merit.
Heard Month Python series has better costumes than Amazon Middle Earth?
Seeing only King Arthur wears actual chain mail while all other actors are in wool painted to look metallic, I question if Amazon did worse than Monty Python.
What are your thoughts?
I agree there is some brand recognition. But I'd encourage you to look into the rumor about Pathfinder ever outselling D&D. I am a big p2e fan and believed that for a time, but on looking into it I found that several paizo employees have debunked it as only a rumor and said they never even came close to matching D&D. Still a great game, good lore and all, just wanted to share what I've discovered.

A shame the lore community of Golarion is not as prevalent as those of forgotten realms.
The only major flaw for golarion for me is pharasma and the end. Just knowing that made we want to cause her as much suffering as I can in WoTR
Mystra is wrapped in a shit ton of terrific stories and her Chosen are some of the most adventurous adventurers ever put on paper.

Wow, great video. Love the discussion. Really enjoyed that you two were learning just as we were. I recommend more videos like this. LDTG is great. Watched a great video he did with Nonat. New to P2e, coming from 5e. I really enjoy the lore and depth of characters in this system.
I definitely want to! I want to do a few more with others and with Ldtg again, I really enjoyed my collabs so far!

@@davidrenner6112 thank you. That means allot! I have taken a small break while work picked up over the summer, and with my kids home it was harder to find time to record, but I've got a few scripts that will be posted soon, and I hope to get back to a regular posting schedule ASAP!

Minkari i feel is a good example of a LG villain. Taking some thing good good in nature and meaning but taking it way to far.
It's "the end justifies the means" story arc that can lead an individual down the gradual path to a dark place when they start out with the best of intentions.
