    I have always thought that it was weird that burning the dead weren’t more common, especially in places where the dead don’t rest so easily like Ustilav. You would think that by the second generation of having to put grandma back in her grave most people would just build a small shrine to there ancestors and be done with the practice.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Maybe it's a stubborn thing? Well, we can't just stop burying our dead, cause then the necromancers win!

    • @Morhek
      @Morhek 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I figure that's the fastest way to create ghosts. At least zombies and ghouls are corporeal, putting down a haunt is much harder. I do also like to think that the various funerary rites function as a very basic hallow ritual, and that mummification specifically is to prevent the accumulation of negative energy.

      Because incorporeal undead are more dangerous? 😅

    I can't not hear Jeb Bush. Given the Osiriani (Egypt) influence on Geb, it would be a hard G like God, not a soft G like Jeb. Love this though, very interesting.

    I like the idea that negative energy is essentially like a drug that alters the mind as well as the body.
    That being said, I dont like how one sided is. They should show how creatures of positive energy also have an instinctual hatred of the undead.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They very well may, perhaps in a positive energy book down the road it will expand on that! Would positive energy users be druids basically?

    • @misterion8920
      @misterion8920 ปีที่แล้ว

      But, what is better for you: adepts of life magic, who hates "death", or adepts of dark and destructive magic, who hates all of beings? I think this theme can be little one sided.

      This was specifically the lore written by Geb (Back when he was still alive to be precise for that section), and is thus biased in favor of undead very heavily.
