From stitching to knitting
Proud of you Kari! You’re growing your business intentionally. Good for you!! Happy 2024
Great job taking care of yourself! 🎉
Cute lamb pillow a friend gave you.
Kari, you make my week!
Thank you so much!
Love all your wips
Good for you for giving yourself some grace. Shop updates will be as wonderful as always when you do them. You could hear it in your voice that you were a little sad about the decision, but you do need time for yourself and your family. Keep being amazing!
Great video have a wonderful evening 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
❤❤❤❤
Happy New Year 🎉
Happy new year
Wow ! Just phenomenal 🤩🤩 I’ll be watching for all the things, Intentional is a word with so much meaning behind it…..💕
Awesome show…love it all!❤
Thank you!
So many good things to see. You were going to give the name of the sweater you had on but I didn’t see it. Happy for you cutting back a bit. Time to give yourself more fun time. Enjoy.
Hi! Absolutely love your videos! You are so amazing and creative! Love your word of the year! Love knitting too and a beginner. So happy you are doing a knitting and birthday sal! Take care❤️
Love you and all you do. Happy new year
Happy new year!! You are so kind.
Great bubbly joyful fun watching you 😂❤🎉
Super excited about all your plans 👏🏻 especially the beanie along!
Yay! Thank you!
You do so much and you need to do what’s best for Kari! Love you so so much!
Thank you so much Christy! Love you right back
Harriet Hey is amazing!! Love all you do, and never bad to make changes for yourself!! I was thinking about the cross stitchers try knitting and could not get stitchers take a stab at knitting out of my mind. 😂
Looking forward to the new things coming!! Happy Making!!!
Yes! Thank you!
I live in MD. I just made my first trip to in stitches. It was amazing.
Oh yes! It's jam packed fun.
Thank you for another great video! Your finish of "Harriet Hey" is awesome! I'm a January birthday person also. I do want to do the beanie but so hope you will take care of us newbie folks!
Oh yes! My pattern is being written for the complete beginner in mind.
Wow..just wow! Loved every minute of your video( and I got so much stitching time in🙂). Though I loved your 15th keeper update I do own two beautiful ones you made and I love them. But I totally enjoyed that you did a pattern and accompanying video that taught us how to make are own and you did a video that taught us how to make our own quilted project bags with your easy fusible squares method(Game changer) which I’ve made 5 of for myself & several for friends not to mention the other things you’ve taught us. I’m truly look forward for what you have coming in the future because I know it will be just as amazing as you are to us. Thank you for all the things you do 🙂
I’m so relieved I managed to finally get a keeper in the December shop update 😅
I’ve also bought the patterns for the full size and the mini so I will try to make more for myself.
Can’t wait to find out what new things you have planned to share with us.
Excited to see the new things that are yet to come! You do what works for you, everyone needs a good work/life balance to be happy. Looking forward to see what your birthday stitch will be this year. Have fun doing all the things and Happy New Year!
I love your finish of Harriot Hey and love the quote that you stitched on it - it's absolutely stunning. Your videos are always so much fun and so inspiring and positive. Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year!
Thank you! You too!
I love your sweater #1! I love your wool applique! I bought some things online from the Little Red Hen. I need to get out some of my kits to work on - I think I have a Valentine's Day one - I will look this weekend.
I would love to make a beanie. I used to knit a lot, I worked in a wool store. Sadly that was many moons ago, so you have inspired my desire to pick up my needles again. Auditioning charts 😂that made me giggle. The felt piece is gorgeous and I love the sweater you are wearing.😊
I love your quote for Miss Harriot! Will you be putting it up on your website like you did for Mary Morgan? Please, please, pretty please!😊
Hi Kari! I am new to watching your FT and I love it! I watched your Advent videos and really enjoyed them. I did the friend Advent with Shellie Fry - isn’t she the best! What an awesome gift-giver, too!! As you know! Anyway, I want to learn to knit so I am going to join your KAL!! See you soon!
So excited for the beanie a long! My sister is going to do it too so we are excited to see what supplies we need. I have been saying the same exact thing about being intentional! 2024 is the year for that!
Yeah! I love that you both are going to join. Hoping to release the material video soon.
Here's an idea tigerlily maybe🤔....get a helper!!!!!!!! I'm sure a quilt/stitchy friend would love to help make beautiful keepers with that beautiful fabric just a thought.....
I definitely have been considering getting a helper in the studio.
My college son is back to school today…..boooo!! I miss him so much when he leaves. That Clemson bowl game was one of the best games of the season!!! Happy New Year!
Oh my goodness, that was the most stressful game of the season. WOW!
I think you stitch the trees on the wool applique before you put the red back piece on. The purpose of the red is to hide the back of your main piece so the back of it doesn't show the under stitches.
I can see how that would be the case, but this kit actually came with a piece of homespun fabric that is to go on the very back as the last step to cover all the stitches.
I was glad to see you stitched the collectors heart on Aida and it looks like you had enough thread. I love those designs but don’t want to stitch on linen and haven’t tried the Aida.
Congratulations on your beautiful finish! Would you mind linking where you get the see through hanging labels on your project bags? Thank you!
Happy New Year. Hope I can be quick enough to get one of your extra boxes. Love the Blackbird chart you are doing. Considering the beanie KAL.
I hope you can get one too! I would love for you to join the Beanie KAL
Oh,yes, I'm getting into wool applique, too, and kits are really the best as I don't need to build another stash of something. I loved loved your 12 days of Stitchmas and seeing all the goodies in the Tiger Lily Advent. I am seriously thinking of getting it for 2024. I just wish I didn't have to pay so far in advance, but I totally understand why. I am also hoping to snag a January keeper whenever the extras are available. Also excited about the new stuff planned. Yay 2024!
Jenn Lee (Quirks & Stitches and 24 Hours of Cross Stitch) has a great system for sizing out projects. It’s a great guide for planning starts. I’m using it for my 24 new starts in 2024:
Add stitch count across with stitch count high. Divide that number by 2. The final number determines your project size.
Example: 179x135=314
314/2=157
157 is size of project.
1-49 is a mini
50-99 is a small
100-149 is a medium
150-249 is a large
250 + = Big Assed Project
Honestly this helped me SO MUCH with planning my starts. I knew I’d burn myself out fast doing nothing but minis, and get frustrated and quit if I had nothing but BAP’s…
So excited to see what the year holds for us!! Mary Morgans (with your conversions) and Nightingale from Mirabilia are my August starts (my birth month). I’ll miss the monthly updates. At the same time, you have to look out for YOU! Here is to a fantastic 2024!!!
Thank you so much friend for sharing the math magic...I love a good math problem. This will definately help me to stay on track. Happy Stitching!
Such great projects. I hope to do the knit along as I was set to start chemo the 8th, but it has been pushed back until the 22nd and a beanie will be great when I lose my hair. I definitely would love if you did a felt along. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed week and happy stitching. Lucinda
If I could have half your energy. 🤓
Hi! Thanks for another great video. We just our daughter on a plane to head back to school. 😢. She’s 22 hours away! My youngest daughter just got accepted early action to CLEMSON and has decided to go. My husband and I are Clemson alumni but we live in New Mexico now. So Clemson is about 24 hours away in the opposite direction as my other daughter. Sigh.
OMG! Clemson early action. YEAH! Congrats to her and you both. I can't imagine being 24 hours the opposite direction, my momma heart aches for you. But you know she is going to live her best Clemson life! That's all we want for our kids. Happy & Healthy!
I have seen beautiful wool appliqué patterns and kits at Quilters Studio in Fairfax, VA. I can’t do it because I am allergic to wool. I went to In Stitches during their after Christmas sale and I spent $249.😮I didn’t even buy specialty threads. I was in there 2 hours. My husband finally came into the store because he thought I was dead and no one had told him. 😂
Oh wow! I tried to be good and stayed away during the sale....but then I went the week after....so I guess that wasn't really good planning.
@@TigerLilyDesigns Did you get a chart for your birthday SAL?
Thank you for being such a bright happy human, I’m always in such a good mood after watching your videos! Also, congrats on that amazing big girl finish! The way you change and modify and are the boss of your own cross stitch is so inspiring. Happy early birthday!!
2024 have many changes for all of us. Love your imagination and energy.
You are adorable and enjoyable!! Thank you for sharing!! Your mom’s artwork is beautiful!! Happy 2024!! ❤
Kari, do you have a favorite "big girl" sampler?
Oh that's a tough one. Right now I would probably say my favorite is still Mary Morgans. Those colors and that feature Rose motif in the middle. Gorgeous!
You do so much Kari, we all understand if some changes need to happen. I love your word of the year, mine is actually 2 words, “choose joy”. It’s something I need to regularly remind myself to do. Hugs and blessings on your coming week!
I'm glad you received and liked your ornament. Thanks for sharing all your project goodness with us!
I love your energy. You do what you need too for yourself. Look forward to seeing you Friday!!
Thank you so much!
Love your saying on your Harriot Hey sampler!!
I love how you make the stitches your own so wonderful!
Thank you! 😊
Did you get your spinning wheel yet? Will miss you guys in Amana this fall😢
Great question! I did get my wheel....unfortunately it hasn't come out of the travel bag yet. I hoping maybe in February once I get the Keeper Club boxes out.
Enjoy your videos and updates on your stitching. Sounds like you're excited for the new things coming in 2024, look forward to seeing them.
Thank you!
No one deserves to take a break from the monthly keepers more than you do. We will miss them, but definitely understand. Even Wonder Woman needs a break😂. Can’t wait to start the Beanie-a-long.🥰
Thank you so much for the kind words and tremendous support.
Harriet Hey is beautiful ❤ ‘Intentional’ is a fabulous word of the year. We all need that more in our lives. Looking forward to the beanie-a-long.
Thank you!
(?) your first piece where you said you finished the border, are you missing a couple of red x's for the leaves on the last flower. Just checking.
Great catch! I will definately have to take a closer look
I’m so excited to learn to knit
Woohoo! Bet that feels great to have finished:)
I am so glad you were brave or strong enough to recognize when something had to give. Never feel bad about taking care of yourself. In this industry the pressure is probably tremendous. On that note, I can’t wait to see where 2024 takes Tiger Lily Designs.🎉🎉🎉 As always, love, love it all.
Thank you so much for all your kinds words and tremendous support.
Kari, I just love your videos and your enthusiasm. My head shot up from my stitching I even think I’ve lost my needle, when you mentioned your word of the year. I have never had a word of the year yet even though I have given it some thought. My word of the year came to me mid December when I was creating my 2024 planner and all the things I have plans to keep track of my word is INTENTIONAL I’m so excited we have chosen our first word and it’s the same word. I wish you all the best in 2024 and I hope you have a very intentional word. ❤❤❤❤
Woohoo! 2024 Intentional Sisters
I am soooooo excited you are doing wool applique!! It's my current favorite hobby with sewing and xstitch not far behind and I would love to see more!
So excited for you beginning new things in 2024! Congratulations on your big finish! Wishing you all the best. 🙂
Thank you so much!!
Do you organize your scraps as you stitch or right after a finish .... or do they just sit for a while? I have like 3 huge bags full of scraps. I say I need to oranize, but I really dont want to. I just got into wool applique!
I totally get having to let something go so you can do new, but also, enjoy what is good for you! Change is hard, but with change brings new opportunities! Your community will follow you wherever you go! Happy New Year!
lol I love you I was having a bad day and your compliment totally made me smile 😂❤. You’re my goals 😘
You are such a queen! Love you to pieces. Just watched your most recent video - You are a ROCKSTAR!
Very Nice job on Harriot Hey!!! Ummm, You deserve some free time, family time or just Me Time, it would be worse for all of your supporters if you burned out. My word this year is Conscientiousness. Keep us posted on the B-day SAL.
Thank you!
Thank you for another amazing flosstube! Happy New Year! I'm so excited to see what exciting new things you have planned for this year!
Thank you! You too!
My word for the year is also "intentional". I realized that I was doing way too much and not finishing anything. It is hard when you love all the things and you only have a 24 hour day. Take care.
Pop Up releases sound like fun! I love being a part of your keeper club, thanks for all of your hard work. Happy New Year! My word of the year is content. Janine
Thats a great word of the year!
I am so desperately wanting to follow you on beanie knit but I’m not on instagram. Please don’t forget us on your flosstube. I love watching your episodes and all the crafts you do. You create marvelous things and seem like such a kind person.Thank you for all you do….. Marilyn
I enjoyed your video today.I am excited to see what you come up with this year.
Thank you so much!
Yes to wool applique! I would like to nominate Bluebirds of Happiness by JBW Designs for your birthday sampler. I know you didn't ask, but... Hope you enjoyed your day at your LNS!
Kari - so excited for what’s to come. Totally understand about the monthly keeper updates - I really thought you were Wonder Woman with everything you do. I do love your keepers! I’m so glad you’re going to do the Beanie a long and teach us the basics - I’ve never knitted - super excited to make a beanie. I’ll be looking for your supply list. Thanks for the fun update- Happy New Year!
