Saw a mention of this tutorial in Just Cross Stitch magazine and had to check it out. Kari, you have the best tips! Everyone needs to watch this!! Thanks so much. Maybe you should highlight and link to this in your floss tube so people who don’t get Just Cross Stitch have a chance to see it❤
Burned my fingers one too many times with the glue gun so for Mothers Day I'm getting a sewing machine. This is the first pillow tutorial I've watched and I feel I've hit the jackpot, thank youuuu. 🌼
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I appreciate you taking time to show step-by-step process. Especially like how you add rickrack and close the backing. Have a great stitchy weekend!
LOL the lizard "liver " looks great LOL too funny thanks for the laugh I'm glad you didnt take it out . Great tutorial cause I like seeing everything even though I am not new to sewing . I like watching the full process .
Your tutorial taught me very helpful tips to putting Rick rack in a seam, doing a ladder back stitch to close, using lizard litter for weight in the bottom to have a stand up pillow and loved seeing you sew it on your machine as I’m a visual learner! Thanks so much Kari for sharing what works for you. I’m definitely going to refer back to this video when adding Rick rack to a pillow I finish. Happy stitching from Culpeper, VA
Such a great tip to draw the line and sew in the rick rack! I like that look, as I have just hand stitched it flat around the pillow. I also like the way you closed the back. I just cut a small slit, sew it together and cover with a piece of wool, usually cut into a heart or matching the shape of something in the stitched design. Thank you for your tutorial.
That was a great tutorial! It was funny to hear you try and say Lizard Litter...lol When you said Lizard Liver...I laughed so hard! 😁 You make my day! I was looking for a great way to fill my Christmas ornaments and this was perfect! Thanks again.
So anxious to try this. I have made pillows but your methods seems so much easier. Thanks for sharing. Edited to add: I made a pillow this afternoon and loved the results. My ric rac was 7/16 instead of 1/2 inch but otherwise I did exactly as you instructed. This will definitely be my go to way of finishing future pillows. Thank you again.
