- I'm back at the famous Terry's Café today in London. It's about a 10 minute walk from Borough Market and I thought I'd head back to the place where the channel started to give a proper review as my first one wasn't particularly great!

Having watched Garys excellent reviews for several months, can I just ask everyone to give a like and support him, anyone who works this hard to bring us quality, free restaurant reviews deserves all the support we can give him. I have no connection to Gary other then an avid viewer like you all, lets get those "likes" up when we enjoy the review.

Tom, i agree with every word you wrote.
I think you've misunderstood what TH-camrs do. Yes it's free to watch but they don't make and upload videos out of the goodness of their hearts. Their videos are monetised by the advertising and that's how many of them make money. So you don't need to plead for Gary's welfare. I'm sure he's doing just fine.
@@michaelb2388 I fully understand that, just because someone makes money from something doesn't mean we shouldn't be grateful. Likes and subs are the only way advertisers can quantify the value of a video, ergo no likes, no advertisers, no video.
By far the best food reviewer on TH-cam deserves all the support he can get. And don’t forget the cameraman.
I love his down to earth no nonsense likeable character. He draws you in and i always love relaxing after working a long day and joining him

Hi Gary, just thought I’d mention how much this channel means to me. An extremely likeable and genuine character giving honest unbiased reviews, what’s not to like?! I speak from the heart when I say that subscribing to you was more of a no brainer decision than some of the ‘biggest’ channels out there on TH-cam. I work as a terminal operation controller at Gatwick (hopefully you can come here as a follow up to the Heathrow video 👀) so the job is getting very busy with the summer schedule but watching your videos relieves a lot of the stress. If you enjoy what you’re doing then we couldn’t be happier because everytime we see that upload notification life genuinely peaks ❤️❤️

Great review of a double breakfast at a café where we could not sit as it was fully packed. As you go back to the café that you first reviewed, it is reasonable to look back and realize what you have achieved with your many food reviews as far as I am concerned: you have succeeded in turning London into a city that is full of affordable delicious restaurants, bars and cafés by unveiling them with your honest approach. I loved this video, Gary. This came across as a charming and wonderful home-coming of sorts video.
That breakfast looked fit for a King, Gary! 🙂👍
The restaurant itself looked to be a picture of genuine care, decency and integrity.
You could just really feel and perceive it. Spotlessly clean, brisk efficient service , on top of everything and a real pride in what they are ( succesfully) attempting to do.
The free-range Eggs Benedict looked a beautiful, and no doubt highly nutritious colour. Wonderful homemade (?) Hollandaise sauce; the finest herby Cumberland sausage and a fine black pudding ; eggs cooked to perfection and that lovely crisp fried bread and toasted sourdough.
This looked to me to be a very special breakfast, nay, a veritable feast, Gary!
I know just how many restaurants you've visited now and just how meticulously discerning and forensic you are about your food, Gary!
Thats why i love and appreciate your reviews and why i think you are the best and most reliable food reviewer currently on TH-cam. This breakfast just looked to be a breakfast prepared with real heart and undeniable care.
Better than Ramasy's, eh..!? Well, i don't mind paying more as long as the quality is there and is commensurate. In this case i think it definitely was.
These niche restaurants have rightfully made a good name for themselves and the best of them will not now rest on their laurels.

I used to work across the road from Terry's cafe. We used eat there a lot it was in the days when Terry ran it and Austin did front of house. Glad to see it is still running strong.

I certainly don’t mind all the London reviews. I was born and bred in London (Greenwich) and I miss it everyday. I’m 74 now and too unsteady on my feet, so I’m pretty sure I’ll never be able to return.

My office is near Terry's but the only thing is that it is so popular when you take time out from work you need an hour or more because of the queues! I enjoy the complex cookery in upmarket Michelin type places on occasion however for me the essence of good food is humble sounding ingredients but ones that have been farmed with care, producing a quality product, and then obviously cooked by someone who knows their onions! If you can master a poached egg then rest of the traditional British breakfast comes easy. And as Gary says a sausage makes a breakfast and Terry's are very good, as are all the other ingredients. I only wish there were more places where you pay a bit more but you reap the awards in terms of taste.

Don't worry Gary, most of the things on a traditional fry up are healthy. Eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding. Fatty meat doesn't make you fat or clog arteries if they are high quality products - no fillers and nitrates. The beans, bubble, fried bread are bad however, carbs=sugar and seed (vegetable) oils, these will clog arteries and make you fat. Unfortunately a lot of places cook with seed oils these days rather than the healthier lard or dripping. Unsweetened clotted cream is also fine, I remember you looked a bit scared to eat it with the naughty sticky toffee pudding in another video, but that was the healthiest thing on that plate! Having said all that - this fry up looks amazing.

Living in Gascony I use duck fat usually. It's healthy, apparently. Sometimes extra virgin olive oil.

Had a couple of hangover breakfasts at Terry's! 😋. They were the best! (in particular I am so happy how generous they are with the beans, most places just drop a spoon full, and it's never enough!). Given the absurd amount of food you ordered, hopefully Cameraman had a good breakfast too!

I don't remember ever having eggs benedict, but the main spread looked great. I would have gone without the baked beans, replacing them with the scrambled eggs, with grilled tomatoes on the fried slice. I hope the cameraman had the rest of the eggs benedict. I'm sure it was top notch. A ten for it all, going by your responses. I'm looking forward to your tours away from London.
This is one café I highly recommend, we do travel but for personal circumstances it can be very difficult

So these channels with a million subscribers as you put it you don't think they once had less than 100k numbers start at zero and go up from there we get taught that in preschool. You got me good at the start Gary! 🤣 A cafe that's survived the slings and arrows of outragous fortune all those years, has to have something good going for it! My daughter works in Borough so maybe I can get her to take me there. I love the British decor with its vibe and theme. BTW, fried bread IS good for you. How? It makes you happy! Always take care of your mental health as well as your physical.... 🤣 I'm for dying with a smile on my face! The food looked amazing, and especially the Eggs Benedict as I love that anyway. And the hollanaise makes or breaks it always, so good to hear it was delicious. Sage advice to our friend Gordon too. What's missing from any of his restaurants is the love and personal involvement! And not pricey for great food. It's a 10/10 from me!

I'm pleased that you revisited the first cafe that you reviewed, and even more pleased that you felt it deserved the top mark. From where I sat the ingredients looked high quality, and as any cook will tell you with that, you simply can't do the best job in the kitchen.
As an Aussie, who enjoys visiting various cafes in my neck of the woods, I have never quite understood the appeal of black pudding. But you and many Brits appear to love it.

Lovely cafe good food ok price. Really like to see this type of cafe thriving and as you say Gary the owner is hands on which makes a difference. I notice the plates had the logo -nice touch. You devil caught me with the sound at first i thought it was my phone on the blink😂
