Bedford should arrange to have the sun beating down on the pyramid constantly. The clouds just seem out of place. Michael, I enjoy the "kind of nonsense" you're "known for". Jo, I love your subtle observations, like "it's and interesting theory at 19:55. I hope you two never stop vlogging!
How nice to see Great Barford again. Back in the late seventies as a family were very involved in the Great Ouse Restoration society which contributed financially to the lock gates between Goldington and Upstream of St Neots. A grand Elizabethan festival was held and the lock opened By the Duke of Bedford. Happy memories.
I've missed you three! Lovely vlog, George of course was the star of the show. Sad that the odyssey is nearly at an end, but it has been thoroughly enjoyable. I'm looking forward to the renovation vlogs, it's time Perseverance had some TLC, she has served you well. Take care
Well done on reaching Bedford - I'm glad you came to the same conclusion as I did, that the Great Ouse is a lovely river and a relaxing environment. On our trip, we only made it to Huntingdon before turning back. It's certainly a long way (by waterway) from the Kennet and Avon where we started from!
During the refit.. gonna have to change the 1900 on the side to 2000! For all dem miles, hell even add the silver props too.. ole Percy has a distinguished thouroughbred now!
Although I've enjoyed the trek with Jo and Lorna, I've missed the boat journey. And I was a bit surprised to hear today's vlog is in July because the cloudy day had me thinking it was November. You've taken us on a very pretty trip on the river and thank you for showing us that much more of beautiful, green England.
Good to see George and Perseverance once again oh and you as well Michael, that's not to say I didn't really enjoy Jo's trek up the Highlands but it's great to see all of you together again. I've just loved your travels on the Ouse series of Vlogs. All the best to you all. Stephen 🦼
Reading the closed captions I wondered for a moment who the "Grey Two's" were, until I realised it was what you were travelling on. From memory 'Wolke' is the German for 'nuage' - there's an old English word 'welkin' , a poetic word for heaven or simply the sky, and which is closely related. (Here endeth the lesson.)
What a lovely cruise. Thank you for sharing with us...I look forward to seeing what you do on your boat? so many interesting renovations happening..You three take care...hope to see you soon..😊
Really a beautiful section of river! I have to say that I'm feeling bad about you folks cruising in tee shirts (I realize it was the end of July) as the temperature here in Central Michigan today only got up to the freezing mark at the middle of the day and the wind is blowing enough to take skin off with the cold, even in the warmest part of the day. I enjoyed this episode a great deal. Best wishes from a cold Central Michigan!!
Lovely! I love the alternate universe that you have access to! Here we sit at -3F and you are able to step back into summer. Really cool! Does it really make you sick, jumping from hot to cold frequently? One guesses decisions have been made and plans in motion? I can’t wait to hear. Looking forward to seeing what you are up to and how it is going. Take care of yourselves and we will see you again soon (ish)
Lovely video. I pass by Great Barford on the A1 regularly on my way to and from visits with family and friends in the Bedford area. Anyway, lovely to see y'all on the river, but a tad confused about the timeline, having watched Jo's amazing walk (with Lorna) along the West Highland Way. Best of luck in the next phase of your lives.
Yeah, the videos are a bit all over the place at them moment. I still have about 25 cruising videos to edit from the Ouse, Middle Levels and Nene. These were filmed between August and October. In October I (Jo) walked the West Highland Way and because I wanted to release the walking videos at the same time as Lorna these jumped the editing queue. Things are about to get even more confusing because we are now doing boat renovations and these videos are going to be coming out soon too.
Great video again Jo, I'm going to really miss these when your journey finally ends. Nice to see that you have gone all trip happy with 31th instead of 31st 👍
So near and yet so far. We are based in Milton Keynes (tantalising hope that a link might be built between here and Bedford). We have a share in a boat on the Norfolk Broads, but we’ve never considered Bedford as a boating or canoeing base before. Shame on us. Haven’t done any canoeing for a while.
Is the wide beam Bedford to MK link still on the cards? I had heard that they had allowed for the proposed route when building the new A421, but thought it had now proved not possible due to other obstacles.
So pleased you explained what a pyramid was doing there! You seem to have a very distinct end of term attitude. I suspect by now you have finished the final miles of the network. Hope we have fireworks when that video gets published.
The river has been lovely, it's nice being back on the water after the trek in the highlands. My legs were getting sore watching that, this is easier. Having seen some of the stuff on Twitter I'm looking forward to the renovation episodes. I won't spoil it for people who don't follow you elsewhere, but am waiting to find out how certain choices came out.
I spent a lot of time in that pyramid as a kid. Swimming pool with exciting water slides. And I seem to remember a rather good restaurant at the Priory Marina.
@@MinimalList I've always lived in Ireland, but I spent most of my Christmases in Bedford. Now I recall, that pool opened free on Christmas Day, staffed by volunteers, and money donated went to charity. I wonder whether they still do that. Ah, nostalgia!
We hope to get to both eventually by means other than Perseverance, but decided against any disconnected waterway that required a trip onto the Humber Estuary or the actual North Sea. M
Lovely scenery again Jo & Micheal. I’m surprised there’s not many nb’s in the area that you’ve covered, when you don’t need to use the wash to get there.? (I think). Is it not a popular place to visit. Take care K 💜💜🙋♀️🙋♀️ edit - I should have waited you kinda answered some of my questions. So do you have to go back over the wash.?
One of the greatest things about George is his stardom never goes to his head.

I'm in the process of catching up on missed episodes, very relaxing videos. Thanks guys
I had the "What the?!" reaction to the pyramid too! XD
The pyramid houses a swimming pool with big slides and there used to be a gym in there too.
A german cloud is called "die Wolke", pretty mush the same as in dutch (de wolk).

Well done to your family for helping improve those locks! M

The pyramid is a leisure pool with wave machine. Love your videos. Have kept us going through a very difficult year.
That’s really nice of you to say. Thank you. I really hope things are improving for you.
What a contrast in time/weather and scenery to the West Highland walk! And great to see you back (in time?) on the water.
Some slight time traveling was necessary, yes! M

Beautiful, really enjoyed today's video
It's a pool! No way!
Hey, great to be back on the water with you three. Dear George and his belly rubs!!! Amazing area, and so green. Thank you both and take care.
George lives the best doggy life. Beautiful Vlog as always and I enjoyed Jo and Laura's Highland Fling too.
Thank you so much.
It's both with and by Perseverance that you are reaching journey's end. Great work guys.
Thank you
oh jeez. Shot of Mike hammering a pin to moor
thinking back to the _Chip 2 Leg_ incident
😳
Great Vlog, I've missed you too! Lovely to see the Ouse in summer on a November day. Keeping up with your boat renovations on Twitter. 😀😀

Really enjoyed your adventures in this region less travelled, it looks beautiful and been added to my wish list, thanks.
Thank you. I hope you get to visit one day!

Enjoyed the cruise. Thanks so much.
Wolke is the word you were looking for :) Amazing vlog again, you have brought us so many lovely less travelled places - take care :)
Jo you are such a hero doing those heavy locks in your own. Hope you dont hurt your self xx
Beautiful trip!
What a lovely cruise. Thank you for sharing with us...I look forward to seeing what you do on your boat? so many interesting renovations happening..You three take care...hope to see you soon..😊
Renovation videos are going to start coming out soon along side the cruising videos

I love your videos but especially this one as I have walked around that area so many times. Some great walks around Willington area and Priory Park x
Thank you so much. It’s always quite interesting to see a space you are familiar with from someone else’s perspective

July seems a lifetime ago

Renovations videos are on the way soon. I am probably going to alternate them with cruising videos
Great video as ever! Thanks!
Thank you!
My family is from Bedford. (I'm the reverse of the usual: I'm Irish with British ancestry.)
I spent a lot of time in that pyramid as a kid. Swimming pool with exciting water slides.
And I seem to remember a rather good restaurant at the Priory Marina.
Glad to help bring back the memories!

I thought maybe the pyramid was an SG1 film site. lol
good vid on cut thanks lee
Thank you!
You've not finished yet - you've got the Driffield Canal and the Ancholme to do yet.
We hope to get to both eventually by means other than Perseverance, but decided against any disconnected waterway that required a trip onto the Humber Estuary or the actual North Sea. M

No, we head back across the Middle Level Navigations and up the River Nene.
414 ERROR - MINIMAL LIST EXCEEDED LENGTH
So many errors since we passed 399! M
👍
It’s a swimming pool …
Apparently so! 👍🏻
HANG ON SO MANY QUESTIONS! the river patrol boat can they pull you over and give you speeding fines are they police? lol
Lol, we have no answers for you I’m afraid.
31th - almost the end of spelling? :-)
Just checking to see who was paying attention!
