Just watched your reaction channel. History buff as well, & very aware of how effective the RAF Spitfire & Hurricanes were in fending off Nazi Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain! Best! 🇺🇸🇬🇧

It is not just the paint. The entire plane has been designed from the ground yp to be stealthy. The coating is just one part of the system.

"Stealth" tech...does not make an aircraft or other vehicle invisible...it reduces the amount of things being emitted by the aircraft that can be detected by any potential enemy. So for the radar signature of the plane, the shape is calculated to reduce the amount of radar reflection is given off by the plane when those enemy radar signals hit the plane. Then, add in the materials the plane is made of and top it all off with radar absorbing paint, and what you do is dramatically reduce the range at which those enemy radar systems can detect the F-22. So if a given radar could pick up a non stealth plane like the F-15 at a range of 200 miles, then the F-22 might have to be as close as 20 miles...or 10 miles, or less...before that radar system could detect it.

The paint and geometry of an object is what mostly dictates it's stealth characteristics as well as a few other factors in the design. All together this is what culminates into the total stealth capability of the object.

The F35 is technologically far superior to the F22. Where the F22 shines is it's dogfighting capability.
