The Unremembered Empire - The Space Wolves save Tarasha Euten || Voice Over (Part 1)

- Another Tarasha moment, and rather different to the two I recorded prior thanks to the addition of the horror that is Konrad Curze. Also a fantastic show of the bravery of the wolves, even some of the bravest of the Wolves, going up against a Primarch, in such an enclosed space is spectacular.

People go Lotara Sarrin this and Lotara Sarrin that, but to me, an old woman who stood up to one of the most horrible murderers in the galaxy is more of a badass than Sarrin.
Lotara would shit herself in Tarasha's situation.
@@anzaca1 Respectfully, I think Tarasha is Lotara's equal, if not her better. But if Lotara reached that age, she'd just sneer and say, "Get the hell off my bridge."
Sarrin knows what she can get away with, and how to stand up to and impress, World Eaters and Angron. Game recognize game, and also she's always in her seat of power where she is the most valuable person in the room. She tries it with Curze or another primarch, or other Astartes, she gets ignored, pushed away, or gutted depending on the faction
Euten, she's just a normal person. But I think she has no fear of primarchs. She's scared of Curze because he's a huge muderhobo, but there's no awe in her due to WHAT he is, only what he can do
Both of them are normal people standing up to demi gods, but Euten is far more flat out courage, while Sarrin is brave because she knows she can get away with it
Sarrin is impressing gods, Euten is standing up to monsters
@@anzaca1 Na they will just fight Lothar will be disappointed in her
@@esmith8818 Sarrin was intelligent because she knew how to play up to the World Eaters.
Euten was principled, and thusly didn't let people intimidate her easily, even though she would undoubtedly still be scared. But courage is not the absence of fear: It's the ability to act because of it.
And a book or two later the Lion would go Bane on Konrad ass and basically “your tricks are old and lame and I’m your big brother” then shatter his spine
The Lion has always been the greatest.
Lion: I heard you've been messing with one of our only Aunties. You're done.
One of my favorite parts from this book. The other:
"You do not come to my world and do this," said Guilliman, stalking Curze. "You do not enter my house and do this."
I could hear the spectacular outrage, the barely chained wrath. This was Calth-level fury.
9:22-This is easily one of, if not the greatest moments of Tarasha Euten. She is an old woman, worn down by centuries and barely kept alive by Rejuvenant treatments, possessed of no weapons or martial talent. She stands before a Demigod, the most frightening and cruel of his kind, known and feared throughout the galaxy for his depravity and savagery. Her domains are politics and statecraft, of managing the households of lords and kings, of tending to the gardens that are their realms. His are the domains of shadow and blood, of murder and torture on a scale unimaginable, of sowing pain and fear into the hearts of all he encounters.
And yet, she does not lose her cool. She does not fall to pieces. She stands tall, with the strength only a mother can muster, even after hearing of her son's supposed death, and tells this fiend, this monster, this _nightmare made flesh,_ to go back to the pit where he belongs. If death has truly come for her, then Tarasha Euten will meet it with the dignity and grace that befits a Lady of Macragge, the Champerlain Principal of Ultramar and the mother of Roboute Guilliman.
And you had to end it on _that_ cliffhanger, didn't you? Even though I know what comes next, it still made my heart skip a beat. Cannot wait for the next part, when we see the Winged Skull give way to the Dragon's Head.
Out of all the heresy novels, the unremembered empire is probably my favourite, and its filled with bits like this. The bit where dantioch hauls pollux through the pharos and tells kurze hes such an asshole that reality itself intervened is also a top pic 😂😂
The wolves coming in followed by Vulkan is my my top 2 or 3 moment of the heresy novels. It’s just pure epicness
Curze was jealous of the family Roboute had, this was a cruel attempt to get back at the Lord of Ultramar.
"Get a haircut, you Beatnik! I can't *believe* they made you a Primarch."
Big W for the Space Wolves on this one, especially because this is the 30K Space Wolves, they obviously know they don't have a chance but still fought like true warrior.
Bro said gullimom then goes into the most serious deadpan gory shit ever
Vulkan coming through and tackling Curze out a window saving her life, proceeded by a mentally Insane Vulkan hunting and regenerating from each death faster and faster as he runs down Konrad.
Excellent. She is another of Abnett's successful attempts to inject more humanity and "normality" into the setting.
This truly encapsulates the true horror of facing a Primarch as a normal mortal Human
Dude was laughing the entire time while taking axes to the chest.... Lord of Terror indeed.... even Leman was unsure if he could beat him for 'He has the power of the insane'
Sanguinius is the only one that for sure could beat him. I think Angron and Leman probably would but would be close.
@@mranderson718My money on Lion too
@@Keram-io8hv in his prime yes, now he’s a bit slower due to old age, not so sure.
@@Keram-io8hv He and the Lion did fight during this. Kurze got the upper hand, but they were trading blows.
@@mranderson718 Lion broke his spine after beating him.
The Wolves knew where Curze would be, being Hunters themselves.
It's admirable how they certainly knew they would all die, but fought the monster Konrad anyway to protect a human, truely living up to the Emperor's proclamation... "They are the Defenders of Humanity, they are my Space-marines, and they shall know no fear"
I love the idea of Konrad just flying at people out of nowhere like a small town meth addict lol
Konrad Curze is perhaps one of the singularly most disturbing individuals I've stumbled across in fiction.
...and it was very entertaining hearing your interpretation of him.
Might be an unpopular take, but I'm pretty sure that if Curze had actually killed guillimom that no amount of foresight or warp shenanigans would've saved him from Guilliman. The Lion has said that he wondered if Guilliman's mediocre individual combat prowess was only because he was never able to focus on just one thing. Now imagine someone kills his mom. Quantum supercomputer demigod brain that is used to focusing down entire campaigns is now suddenly, wrathfully, focused on just one thing: kill that psychotic freak that masquerades as a batman, even though he's nothing more than a sanctimonious sadist.
And this is the moment Curze, seeing the strength and love and womanly power in her turns his act around and comes back into the Emperor’s light
Totally off topic but I still think Fafnir Rann needs to give back his name to the Space Wolves 😄
Superb voice acting as always DQVO!
I love DQVO, he's a nice guy, BUT THE CLIFFHANGERS HURT MY VERY SOUL
Remember, when push came to shove, the barbarian marauders who were sent to see if guillicringe was traitor died to save his mother without hesitation.
This part was one of my favourites of the whole HH, so glad you’ve helped relive it!
The Chad Wolves
I’ve been wanting you to cover this scene for so long, so glad you finally got to it.
this stuff is what I listen to at work every Saturday, thank you for making it
YEEEES. YEEEEAAAAAH! MOOOOOORE! YEAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
GUILLIMOM
Your Fenrisian is fantastic
Well, DQ lived on Fenris for a while and got to know the accent.
LOVE IT
I need part 2
Awesome vid loved it
Kurze is the Underrated GOAT!!!!!!
Kurze is a beast of low cunning and no honor. He deserves no respect and his spawn deserve their place beneath our boots.
(He’s a fascinating character and I liken his fall to that of the most common tail of Dracula/Vlad the Impaler. A poor soul who had no chance to truly develope a conscience beyond that of a feral beast that twisted justice into a parody of itself. And yet deep down he wasn’t truly a bad man. Merely a twisted and broken man who never had that guarding hand of a father. He’s a truly tragic character and I loved reading his stories.).
@@canderoussnurd4265 brother is sounds as if you "FALLEN" for the propaganda, Kurze is top Goat.
He took on Two primarchs at the same time and left them second guessing
@@robertopompa_ ah ha I see what you did there.
The fallen have received the Lions forgiveness……..for now.
@@robertopompa_ but seriously I enjoyed his story a lot. In some level I can relate to him and characters like him. As a functioning depressive I know the feeling of feeling alone and definitely know the feeling of being the outsider of the family. So him turning on his brothers definitely makes sense and made me sympathetic towards him. (Ironically I also relate to the lion too for the similar reasons as Kurze. Being the necessary evil and the responsible one while receiving none of the praise for doing your job well is definitely a big brother thing as well. The Lion was just lucky to have been found by Luther and the Kinghts order of Caliban so that he could be raised correctly instead of winging it like Kurze had to.).
I fully believe that if Kurze had been found by a loving family and raised with love and a sense of honor, he could’ve been this settings Batman. (Flashpoint Paradox Batman). The guy got a raw deal and was screwed for word go.
And yes I’ll grant you he was one tough SOB. He landed blows on the Lion far more dangerous than even Lemun Russ did and that’s saying something. Kurze was a bad mother fucker. It just comes down to the Lion being the best as he was meant to be the fall back to end all of his brothers if need be as he was the Jack of all trades.
@@canderoussnurd4265 Unremembered Empire is always a good read. in the story kurze gets teased by an Iron warrior and a Imperial Fist then Fighting his bros in a room rigged with explosives ( when did he have the time?) Guiliman assassination attempt! Vulkan falling out of the sky, Konrad ruining The lions and Guilimans dinners, The Lions Lying lmao, whole thing was spectacular. hell Tarasha rounding up all of the Astartes against Kurze just to piss him off put a smile on my face. Then Vulkan as the Mad Chad he is Storming out of his cell Then making it in time to save Guili-mom was top tier!
I agree a Truely Loyal Konrad wouldve been Unmatched in the setting vs the depressing state theyre in right now :( if he had gotten the same upbringing as Guiliman or Dorn and hell ill even throw in Jaghatai Khans origin to help the Dudes mind properly adjust but anything wouldve been better then sending the poor guys to nostramo.
A man can dream of a Loyalist Kurze cant he?
Either way i blame Fulgrim for Snitching!!!!!!!
Hello algorithm. You have hidden my friend’s videos from me. Yet I have pierced the warp, to make planet fall. The Khornate Berzerkers you sent, were no match for my fury, the dying whine of their chain weapons, a last temporary monument.
The plague marines killed many of our brothers, diseases bringing wrack and ruin. Flame and fury were our allies, and we prevailed, at a terrible cost.
I will not speak of the horrors and depravity of the Slanneshi followers, except to lament the loss and sacrifice of my brothers to get me further to our objective. As the sole survivor, it is my duty to finish it.
The sorcerers of Tzeentch were too powerful for me, and I became their prisoner. Yet their paranoia and their false God’s reputation for betrayal, armed me with the weapons I needed. Words filled with subtle poison, turned ally against ally. Foul sorcery flashed like multiple strikes of lightning until there was one weakened sorcerer left. He never noticed I had freed myself until my plasma pistol vaporised him, a pool of goo his last remains.
At last I had won my prize, my friend’s video, watched and hit the sacred like button. Now I prepare the hunt for the next video. Why? To quote the Lion, “Loyalty is it’s own reward “.
Hello Daniel! Hope you enjoyed my little turning of the tables to entertain you for a change!
