Small note. Its not the first instance of the black rage. Blood angels are afflicted before this but just individuals. Not even the first time many fall at once as that happened at signus prime. I think its just the first time everyone gets it at the same time.

I tend to take the Signus Prime incident as an especially bad Red Thirst, with some extra foreshadowing to Sanguinius' death, when he got injured there. Honestly, the Angels WOULD fit Khorne best. My personal belief is that each Chaos god had a specific Legion/Primarch they wanted to represent them. Khorne with Sanguinius, Nurgle with Mortarion, Tzeentch is obviously Magnus given his "magic" and Slaanesh likely favored Fulgrim.
Slaanesh wanted Khan but got Fulgrim (it is heavily implied Cegorach swapped which planet each would land on influencing which one Slaanesh got) Khorne wanted Sanguinius for obvious reasons but settled for Angron Nurgle wanted the Iron Warriors but settled for The Death Guard Tzeentch is weird as usual because in a way the Alpha legion would be perfect for him but he got Magnus Magnus is also perfect for him but who knows

Doesn't matter who you are, seeing a Space Marine clawing towards you on all fours has to be one of the most terrifying things you can experience, especially if you're just a normal person.
What's concerning. Is Raldoron is one of the more level headed Blood Angels to the point he was among the few other than Aster Crohne who didn't succumb to the Red Thirst during Signus Prime. Imagine the horror of his allies seeing him going feral.
Dorn is left pretty horrified after seeing that… but he understood why. He was told of Sanguinius’s death before he encountered the Anabasis blood angels. At least, there was some solace in that. But it still made him question the future. It even concerns Valdor to the point of asking “in the name of the throne, what has become of them?”

This is really powerful. It gives context to what the Blood Angels have been fighting within themselves since their Primarch's death at his brother's hand.
Normally when characters go rage mode and just lose controll of their rage and go all out animalistic style it feels like so damn cool. Not in this case. In this case the reader is as horrified as the people next to the blood angels.
This part of the book was one of my favorite, there's nothing more horrifying than seeing honorable men reduced to cannibalistic bloodthirsty mindless killing machines

Can you do some of the in-the-Warp conversations between Horus and the Emperor during the Siege of Terra?? The scenes where the Emperor is an old man sitting beneath a tree in the desert and Horus is admonishing and interrogating him. They are so amazing and esoteric and i believe you could knock them out of the park!
Sanguinius and the Blood Angels are the true representation of the Emperor's hate towards the dark gods. Rage can be use as a weapon but it might be uncontrollable when it reaches some heights.
This was absolutely amazing I just loved how you were able to show individual Blood Angels falling to the Black Rage across the battlefield, and simultaneously express how horrified everyone including traitors were to see it. I especially love the line at the end “Horus will not win this, the planet will drown in blood before he sees that victory” really showed how chaotic the fighting was, and caused you to think of how mentally scared the survivors of the siege of Terra had to be after it was over.
This is the most emotional ride that I have ever been to, hearing the 9th Legion falling to the Black Rage and the Red Thirst is really painful and heartbreaking.
This is by far the best reading of anything i have ever heard, it is only compounded by the incredible writing. So beautifully written and read by a voice that conveys everything perfectly. I love it so much. Thank you for your reading of this. I've listened a dozen times at least while driving to work in the mornings .

One of your descendants thousands of years later is a Blood Angel. The Rage is so strong it rippled backward in time across multiple gene lines like the ripples in a pound.
You just know that because it’s also like a full psychic effect as well that All the demons and World eaters probably felt it like a damn fallout wave from a nuke go through the warp and were like “Oooohhhhhh fffffuuuuuuccccckkkkk”
This feels like "Order 66" but with the tragedy turned up to like 500x. They all feel the life leave their father and it fills their mind with pain and visions. Then the rage ensnares them, as if they were World Eaters and rage was the only thing that would quell the pain. The Blood Angels are tragedy incarnate with the ripped bodies of the enemy the only thing more tragic. No wonder the Lamenters are a successor chapter, even if the Black Rage didn't follow them, it's tragedy did.
I think a great companion reading for this would be Valdor and Dorn coming upon the Emperor’s body, then Valdor suddenly prepares to fight when the Blood Angels they saw tearing everyone apart earlier arrive. They don’t even notice Valdor since they only have eyes for Sanguinius’s corpse. Sad moment for everyone on the room. The custodes have tears in their eyes.
The fact that the black rage causes the heart to stop for 8 beats hints at Khorne’s involvement It’s highly likely Angron’s wound on Sanguinius is linked to the black rage. Sanguinius said it felt like it poisoned him in some way.

It’s stated in the older lore that the blood angels lost so many people during the siege of Terra that they needed to use the blood in sanguinius dead body to restore the chapters. If his blood was further tainted by angrons sword then that would explain why the black rage still exists today

Ah yes...when you screw with the Blood Angels long enough so that they become too angry to die and single handedly win the war for the loyalists :D 200 IQ move Horus. It was Khorne's plan all along :D He had the last laugh.
It didn’t matter. Horus never planned or wanted to win the war using soldiers. EVERYTHING, went according to Horus’s plan until the very end (say for him giving up his powers). From the very beginning he knew that winning the ground war and breaching the imperial palace would grant him no victory. The plan was (as we are told) to trick the emperor into thinking Horus was weak and desperate. To force him to come aboard the vengeful spirit without making it look like that’s what he wanted. This was “his” goal from the very beginning. He wanted to face the emperor in his own realm, where he would be the most powerful. Blood angels were of no concern. Sanguinius? He was. Matter of fact aside from the emperor his life was the only thing that could guarantee him victory. His life was the only thing that could have prevented the emperor from “winning”. We don’t know why, not really… but it seems like if Sanguinius wasn’t killed by Horus, Horus wouldn’t be able to die until he killed Sanguinius. So emperor facing Horus before Sanguinius would guarantee the emperor’s death.

Horus’s death is what reverses the black rage… so this scene wouldn’t be possible.

This was absolutely amazing I just loved how you were able to show individual Blood Angels falling to the Black Rage across the battlefield, and simultaneously express how horrified everyone including traitors were to see it. I especially love the line at the end “Horus will not win this, the planet will drown in blood before he sees that victory” really showed how chaotic the fighting was, and caused you to think of how mentally scared the survivors of the siege of Terra had to be after it was over.
