I’m so glad you did this one! This was one of my signature scents in college and I absolutely love it. It is a bit strong at first but I also get some really pretty florals in this too, then the dry down is just beautiful with the tobacco. I also think it’s perfectly unisex as well, I see reviews of it online saying how (traditionally) masculine it is and I just don’t see that personally.
I'm so intrigued! Tonka is a favorite of course, but your reference to it being comforting really drew me in. I love a good comfort scent for myriad reasons. Certain comfort scents really can soothe and get you through the tough days.

I own The Dreamer & it's a unique lavender fresh scent which leans masculine a bit too much for me but yet my husband doesn't think it's masculine enough to wear lol

Damn, it looks as though the new version of The Dreamer is a totally different fragrance! I just ordered it today, but now I see on fragrantica, it's looking like a completely different fragrance as of 2010. No tonka! What?! WHY Not?! And tabacco.. *wrinkles nose* ...blossom instead of cured tabaco!? Pfffffft! Boo! For shame Versace. For shame! Oh well I am going to wait and see what the one I ordered smells like. Likely, I will have to hunt down a older version on ebay because I won't be satisfied until I get a tobacco & tonka Dreamer of my memory. A high school boy I was crazy about wore it back in the 90's and I remember he always smelled like a chocolate chip cookie mixed with Christmas. And he looked equally as delicious! Did you get your bottle a long time ago?

Someone told me that it was recently reformulated. Not sure if that’s true but you may want to consider an older bottle on fleabay or the likes!

The performance of this fragrance isn't great on my skin. I think I'll give it a try on my undershirt instead. The scent itself is really nice.
