Beautiful PPP! The marbling pattern is superb! I was actually about to ask about the stuck leaves if it happens to you but you actually talked about it haha!
My humidity is high. No matter what, it tends to get stuck. Although not as bad as if low humidity. So to avoid it, I use a cotton bud(the one for ears), wet it, and slide it along the sheath and it just pops right out smoothly. I find that this happens due to PPP having SUPER rubbery leaf when it's newly coming out from the sheath. Can't wait for my PPP to get huge!
Yea, wetting them definitely helps! Learned that hack when my BOP had stuck leaves! Just have to keep an eye in these sassy ones! 💕

Yous is so beautiful. I finally got one at my local grocery store for 15$! Crazy 😜 I’m really hoping I can make it work. Some are so beautiful and some are so ugly . I I’ve had 2 others and they died cause I never knew what I was doing. I’m attempting again and this one is nice already so I’m hoping I can keep it nice

I found this plant at a lowes for 7.98 l like unique looking plants l don’t really know how to take care of them but lm getting better that’s why l only buy on sale…it is pretty….
Thanks for this video! I’m planning on maybe putting mine in a fish tank (only roots submerged) because I hear they do really well there. Might just keep mine and get another tho because they’re on sale at my plant store right now
They do very well rooted in fish tank water! Keeps the roots aerated and well fed!
That leaf is stunning and the plant is beautiful.. Mine is still small with good variegation but you are sooo right, it's growing wonky and every leaf looks as if something made a meal of it but she's still a cutie to me (proud plant parent). Since this is my 3rd one (the first 2 died, simply melted away), I don't baby her but I watch her closely if that makes sense 😁 Thanks for sharing always!!
Put yours on a moss pole and fertilizer it will get bigger leaf I use osmocote plus grows my ppp and my strawberry philo super fast

They definitely like the extra humidity to help the leaves not get stuck! I find this happened when the plant is small but as it matures the leaves come in a lot better!!

Oh no! I'm so sorry about the thrips. I definitely can empathize with how frustrating they are.
I have to tend to my PPPs. My reverted one I have air layering and my other two have giving my the dark cherry look for one. Then the other is starting to give my half moons. My tent humidity where they live stay between 75-80. ❤
I use imitation light, a few centimeters away, if on window a few inches away.

She loves life! I chop and prop her often, and many people now have her babies 🩷✨️
Love love your Princess! I would just trim those damaged leaves, the plant will be fine and they will look totally natural instead of having damage.
I get the crooked new leaves sometimes, one leaf I just nipped the connection to the other leaf, slicing gently down without cutting the new leaf, you only cut the connecting part, which doesn't damage either leaf. But other leaves, while getting a bit crooked as they tried to pull away from the main leaf, sorted themselves out just fine, I don't have any damage due to it.
MIsting a plant lasts about 5 minutes of water on the plant, then its dry, so there is really is no point.
Hey! I think you might be confused as to why misting is beneficial for these plants!! It's just to help the leaves not get stuck, not for any other reason. And I don't trim off damaged leaves bc they're still serving the plant. I like to let the plant dispose of them when it's ready, but that's my personal choice, of course. If it bothers you, then you can definitely cut them off! 👍🏻
Also my white princess is not doing well,I took it out of soil ,had it in water for 1 month and now on perlite for a while,it seems to be happier with the humidity,

I just got a dark cherry and white princess. As a substitute for a humidifier would misting the plant be okay? My house ranges from as low as 30% humidity to 60% it’s very random. I do have an aquarium I plan to set them by.
So misting doesn't actually do anything to help with relative humidity. All it does it put water on the leaves that can create fungal issues down the line. To up the humidity without a humidifier is challenging, but a pebble tray under the plant will raise it a little bit. Misting the new leaves as they come out, however, that will help bc they do tend to get stuck. I wouldn't stress it too much, though. These are super easygoing Philodendron! They'll acclimate to your home, and as they mature, the leaves won't get stuck as much!

Can you show what you are talking about, for example the pot? I have clear pots called Orchard pots, or nursery pots. They are plastic with cuts along the side for watering and watching for root growth. I'd like to see what you are talking about. Perhaps a view of the chunky mix in the pot. Have a bucket of some kind with the mix in it. We've seen the same view of the plant you are holding.
You can check out the repotting videos to see the soil and pots I use if you'd like. People use different things in their soil to make it chunky, so I recommend doing what works for you!!

I will love her regardless either way. The other is a beautiful rooted baby cutting I am hoping will grow big and beautiful as this. ❤

Love your PPP 😍 - mine is small still. Idk however is humidity is what keep leaves from popping. Mine is in 20% (on a good day) and it pops leaves easy. My burkin however dose that on every flipping leave and I put it into 65% and still stuck 🤬 so 🤷

i just got my first plant and ot appears to have loads of small leaves at the bottom close to the moss. will all those grow big or should I trim these tiny leaves at the bottom? my plant has about 6 large leaves on a 4 inch stalk. and abiut 20 little leaves at the very bottom all seem somewhat pink and greens but tiny. Im hoping to place this next to my fig for companionship and grow large..
Let them grow out and then separate them from the bottom! It's baby plants!

Sure, but it would get pretty scraggly, and the leaves would stay small. It's meant to climb and the leaves will get very big! 🩷

Why do the pink in my PPP fade? I put it by my east facing window and occasionally i give it a grow light if its a cloudy day

I don't think she said this but in most cases you should cut off full pink leaves or almost fully pink leaves because it takes alot of energy from the plant and can slow plant growth for the pink princess but if a leaf is half pink and half green it should most likely be fine.
That's not necessary, to be honest. Unless it's an old leaf, you can leave it. The rest of the plant should have enough green to sustain it. If it continues to have many like that with no green, then you should definitely cut the plant back. But do what works best for you!!
