Can you use needle eye hooks or are ringed eyes better?

No no no I’m a mate out of Oregon inlet North Carolina and of my 15 years of mating I have never seen someone rigg a bait like that must be in Wilmington thing Not saying it won’t work but that is not a Carolina rig
