This concert was part of the soundtrack to my time studying at university. I’m still listening to it nearly a decade later. An absolute masterclass and a joy to watch.
For sure... crazy part for me was this was their peak as a band "Evil Friends" and the previous albums (I saw them right after while they were touring "feel it still" So they still played a lot of the older songs and it was a great show!!.... But as a mainstream band they blew up on the next album "Feel it still" was huge for them And they haven't came out with too many songs that I love since then.😬 ..... I know that sounds douchey but I'm just being real 😜
It’s cool how they affect people at different eras of time and their life. For me, I got into them in 2006/7 so was really into their first two albums. Still enjoy this and their newer stuff a bit but their old stuff is my favorite. Listening to Waiter: You Vultures album takes me back to high school
In the mountain in the clouds was the greatest album. Drove out to red rocks from PA in 2016 to see them. Since feel it still released, I've been to 3 shows all of which played feel it still twice. Who the fuck does that? Losers lol
(0:00) Purple Yellow Red and Blue (5:50) All Your Light (10:09) Evil Friends (13:50) (Dayman) (15:35) So American (19:07)People Say (22:25) Sea of Air (26:35) Modern Jesus (30:20) Creep in a T-Shirt (33:55) Someday Believers (37:25) Sleep Forever (44:03) Smile
Anderson Azevedo No worries man! The transition from Creep is easy to miss, I also did the first time around, haha! Apparently KEXP also did (the description)...
Just commenting that 8 years had passed and I still come back to listen to this absolutely banger of a performance of my favorite band to this day. It's just amazing how time passes. I remember like it was yesterday when I watched this performance that was only 2 weeks old, after listening to this album 20 times non stop after buying it from a CD store lmao.
Yeah i agree! Take me for example, There are many favorites of mine, Porcupine Tree, O'Brother, Amason, Wolf Alice to name a few. In my opinion you can only name a band one of your favorites when you love the majority of their songs
I've come home drunk several times to watch this. I also watch it a lot when I'm sober. I just love them okay?! Can't wait to see them with Cage the Elephant in SF in June!!!!!
PTM is awesome....I prefer watching concerts like this without all the distractions of the crowd and the lights....makes listening and watching much more enjoyable and just sounds so much better. Love their music!
I agree! I've seen a few live shows, the lights and how heavy they go live, John's vocals suffer as a result. When they're more casual it's when they play better imo.
Well at 57 years of age this phenomena hits the sweet spot between my ears . I cannot disregard that you are all “SO YOUNG. Keep Lon rockin in the free world.
In case you're too high out there, it's always good to have "BASS" written on your bass guitar, upside down, as to not confuse it with a keyboard or something :)
5 years later and I still come back to it, so perfectly agreed. I'm not that big of a fan of life performances normally, but these KEXP shows were some serious magic. Amazing quality and many bands really brought their best.
As of this day in time DEC 14th 2015 this is the best performance in the world. KEXP show made your place in history as one of the best bands to come along in many years. John G you are a truly Efing Awesome and so are the rest of the band please play this same set many times in the future but if you dont i will listen here because this is your best performance of all so far even better than Bonaroo I am so grateful for discovering your music
If TH-cam videos could wear out like music cassette tapes used to back in the day, this video would be one of them for me. Can't wait for them to roll back through Seattle.
wanted to go to the bathroom since the video started, but didn't want to lose the magic atmosphere they created by a pause or anything else, so after 46 minutes finally i'm going to pee :D GOOD JOB kexp
This band is so underrated. The Pushers Party and People Say are probably my fav songs by them. The music is sooo sooo soooo good, they're amazing live, their acoustics are perfect...oh and the singer is precious (he reminds me of Nicholas Petricca). What more could you want in a band?
oh man, I can't help watching this daily. I only discovered them like 5 months ago and boy can I not get enough. Their stage performance could be polished up, and they could move around.. but they're having fun and sound amazing. I love John's high-pitch singing, and how he throws his voice.. they're so good!
31:40"just a creep in a t-shirt..." (wait, can I swear here?) *turns to drummer* : (yeah, fuck it!) *turns to bass guitarist* : (go for it man!); *turns back* (lol fuck it then) "I'm just a creep in a t-shirt, jeans, I don't fuckin care"
They are amazing. The videos don't do them justice at all. Even though the videos are still good. If they ever come near you, you should go see them. When I saw them the lead singer's wife was playing and singing with them instead of that dude on the guitar which was really cool. They also went into this tangent where they just jammed for a while, and they jammed hard. So they are better live because they just jam out sometimes and transition into random songs, its like they take you on a musical journey.
man 1234 If they ever came near me I woudn't miss it for the world ahah trust me .You saying that just makes me see them live 10 times more...truly amazing band
"i'll be brave, i'll be brave, i'll be brave, when the time comes around i'll be brave"--words so simple have never had so much meaning to me. when the time comes around, i'll be brave.
Great band, great performance and amazing playlist, love them so much! I guess people don't think about the different circumstances that there are between recording a cd and playing it in a concert, couldn't be more proud of being a fan of this band!
AND ALSO... i really like the guy whose playing the accoustic guitar.. he knows he's performing infront of a lot of people, altho he still is vibing out in his head.
Dayman - fighter of the nightman! How awesome is that, taking this silly song from IASIP and turning it into a really smooth song, I laughed my ass off. I haven't heard of them before watching this video, but they earned my respects instantly for this :-D

+Wyatt Scully I enjoy the harder minimalist, almost garage-like sound before they got all pop sounding. Same as the Black Keys. Just my opinion man. You're free to feel differently. ♡
+Benjamin Billman Check it out, you won't regret it. I agree 100% about Modest Mouse. The Moon & Antarctica is such a great album but you can hear their sound being more "produced" than raw from that point on.

Never take guys like this for grantid.
Anderson Azevedo They also play "Someday Believers" around the 34 minute mark.
Emil Brinch wow, that track passed totally unnoticed... I'm fresh fan of them actually, sorry for miss that song hahah thanks for help me out anyway!
Anderson Azevedo No worries man! The transition from Creep is easy to miss, I also did the first time around, haha! Apparently KEXP also did (the description)...

Brasileira de bom gosto!
That's when you wanted to see them....that was peak PTM
Every band is Cheryl's favourite band
That bitch.
can't trust these hoes
Yeah i agree! Take me for example, There are many favorites of mine, Porcupine Tree, O'Brother, Amason, Wolf Alice to name a few. In my opinion you can only name a band one of your favorites when you love the majority of their songs
same.
Fucking love Porcupine Tree.. I'm going to check out O'Brother, Amason, Wolf Alice though.. thanks!
I've probably watched this at least 50 times in a month
+Dylan Ross YES! I'm glad I'm not the only one, it's a strangely addictive set
me too
Still!
Yo también :33
Same. I come back to this set about every 3 or 4 months, watch it religiously, repeat.
Their song transitions are absolutely flawless
please come to Portugal!!
And meet the man
lol
underpants i.n.c. the fact that they've never played in portugal is pretty crazy, given the band name and the amount of tours they've been on.
+Justin Simmons I believe they played in Portugal in 2009 but yeah it's pretty ironic, they never step foot there

Can't stop revisiting this set....
also can't stop being the marshal of your gay pride parades. good for you loser
The transition of Creep In a T Shirt to Someday Believers is amazing!!!!!!
So amazing! Glad somebody also noticed that!
Yes yes yes!!!! I love it, I literally come to this just for this! But I end up watching the whole thing....Because it's PTM
The best part 😎
YES!
I can't even count how many times I've watched this concert. Hands down my most watched video in TH-cam.
It's their best on here
I've watched this almost every night for the last 6 months.
I've come home drunk several times to watch this. I also watch it a lot when I'm sober. I just love them okay?! Can't wait to see them with Cage the Elephant in SF in June!!!!!
Seeing them with Cage in Minneapolis in June as well
Did you say Cage the Elephant is on tour?!? Nice! I hope they are making it to the southern half of California.
It's gonna be *NorCal In San Fransisco later this month. An epic combo, cannot wait for the WAVESSSS =']
They will both be here in Portugal too, in august!
ill hopefully be there!
This video introduced me to probably my favorite band ever.
PTM is awesome....I prefer watching concerts like this without all the distractions of the crowd and the lights....makes listening and watching much more enjoyable and just sounds so much better. Love their music!

there are some decent modern bands
Album of the year and one of the best bands this generation. Day Man just sealed it.
The fact that they played dayman makes me so happy
I can't live my life without watching this every morning!
Ptm for the win!
In case you're too high out there, it's always good to have "BASS" written on your bass guitar, upside down, as to not confuse it with a keyboard or something :)
@Joel Gutierrez That made me chuckle ngl
Still, One of the best KEXP performances of all time (in my humble opinion)
I couldn't agree more I found this gem a year ago and go back to it at least 3 or 4 times a week
+Mitchell Morris I've seen quite a few of these things now and this is 1 or 2. Watch the Growlers one!!!!!!
singin is off
This performance is better then the album versions. Also, the kid kicks ass on the drums.
5 years later and I still come back to it, so perfectly agreed. I'm not that big of a fan of life performances normally, but these KEXP shows were some serious magic. Amazing quality and many bands really brought their best.
i absolutely agree, this performance is better
That's Kane Ritchotte on drums. He played Benjy (Sharona's son) on the pilot and seasons 2 & 3 of Monk when he was a kid.
@@noahmckelvie134 No kidding?
The really true
As of this day in time DEC 14th 2015 this is the best performance in the world. KEXP show made your place in history as one of the best bands to come along in many years.

I just heard them for the first time yesteray and now I think they might be my new favourite band.
The transition between Creep in a T-shirt and Someday Believers might be the best thing my ears will ever hear!!!
100% agreed
it's absolute ecstasy
It's like the first time getting jiggy with a lady.. blown away
As if I needed one more reason to love them. DAY MAN!
Last song Sleep Forever..is so sweet and sung beautifully! Great Artists!
I am so amazed for John who never played guitar how fast he learned and is so excellent from strumming to running licks !
6 years gone and i still absolutely love this
did they play "Nightman Cometh" by Charlie Kelly in its always sunny in Philadelphia?
Yea man they have played that song at every show I have been to so far, so awesome
Dude, that is Charlie
Sure did
they also did a very comical video w/ some of the cast of "Sunny," so apparently there's a friendship...
i am cracking upppp
If TH-cam videos could wear out like music cassette tapes used to back in the day, this video would be one of them for me. Can't wait for them to roll back through Seattle.
Hands down their best performance of purple yellow red and blue.
Portugal, the man is fine.
Portugal,the country is the best.
Insanely talented musicians with a fresh sound.... I'm addicted.
If you ever get the chance to see them live, you have to go. It will be one of the best shows you'll ever see.
Finally got tickets to see them this summer, so stoked!!!
omg this is perfect.
Perfect. So many great songs.
Thanks, I know that I'm perfect
Got turned on to these guys by accident about a year ago, and have been thoroughly hooked since. One word comes to mind when I listen - DEEP.
Creep in a T-shirt into Someday Believers.. so fucking epic.
wanted to go to the bathroom since the video started, but didn't want to lose the magic atmosphere they created by a pause or anything else, so after 46 minutes finally i'm going to pee :D GOOD JOB kexp
I love the vocals on this Live recording from KEXP.

Dayman - fighter of the nightman! How awesome is that, taking this silly song from IASIP and turning it into a really smooth song, I laughed my ass off. I haven't heard of them before watching this video, but they earned my respects instantly for this :-D
1.5 mil views im at least half. Come back to Arizona please! Best show!!!
I've seen Portugal. The Man play a couple live shows and they never seem to play "Smile" which is my favorite track off Evil Friends.
beautiful
great band!
I've already listened to this 4 times today.
31:40 my favorite moment when John stops singing and they're all smiling
It's because they didn't know whether or not they could swear, it hilarious because you can see John stop at "jeans" and step back and look around like "wait am I allowed?"
ya, sure thing feigit
i think he has such a beautiful voice! "It's Complicated Being A Wizard" is by far my favorite album!.
Damn I'm in love with that Rickenbacker.
I love the transition from dayman to So American
Holy cow the Dayman cover is epic!!
They are great live!
His voice is damn amazing.
I always end up back here! Great performance by PTM
força rapazes! excellent perfomance
I'm loving it all the way from New Zealand!
Ok I saw them live (finally) a couple of weeks ago and they blew my mind. This performance does them no justice. It was one of the happiest moments of my life that concert, so sick. If you have the chance to see Ptm live don't miss it
I'm finally getting to see them live this summer and I can't wait ❤
Want you in Portugal this year 🤩
when they busted out Dayman at red rocks i was blown away.

Essa musica é uma covardia. O coração não aguenta tal perfeição.
Qual delas? Todas né? kkkkk
@@DavidSousaP sim todas kkkk
2006-2008 PtM is the best PtM. I wish they would go back to their roots. They seldom play their old school songs.
