  • Part two - Short block assembly after full rotation balance.
    OEM crankshafts are balanced to 10k rpm already but I did extra balance and micro plush. Balanced flywheel, pulley and even clutch. If I need to replace the clutch I will have to re balance flywheel and new clutch again. Not a big deal. It worth it. Also got rods and pistons all wighted.
    I have done this to all my previous builds and they still drive after 7 years of boost.
    Next part will work on the head. Installing springs and retainers for those big cams. And maybe head install.

    No matter what style VTech built it's awesome for what it is. I'd rock a B20N/A VTEC. It's not the model car, it's whatever engine and setup that defines what you're driving with Hondas."Im driving a B18B LS/VTec turbo; I'm driving a K20a2 N/A on e85&nitro; I'm driving a Stock D16z6/Y8 w/vsprings& lowPSI centrifical SC...ect" B series my favorite by far. They might not have the full potential of a K series but the best one to build when you add the full picture up.

    Your videos are sick! So glad I stumbled across these as I'm building the same engine just not as fast lmao

      They are fun either way. Lots of torque.

    This is actually making me NOT want to build a b20 vtec. Holy shit that’s a lot of time/money/work involved. But thnx for the detailed build it’s def a good resource in case I change my mind lol

      It's not just a B20 Vtec, this is essentially how every thorough engine rebuild goes. It could be a bone stock D15 and the process is essentially the same. Clearances need to be checked, and machine work needs to be done if they aren't correct.

    Small critique...one should make practice of always turning the crank in its natural direction of rotation...I get it if you didn't want to loosen the bolt, and not that you caused any harm, but best practice is to always turn the crank over in the direction it turns when running...

    Video is 100!! My question is when installing main seal plate, Do I install dry and if lubed exactly where and why not bother installing main girdle please?(B18c1 ~13:1 compression)

    • @UNIQUEGrills
      @UNIQUEGrills  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can lube it if it’s new. Used already oily.
      I saw 1000whp LSV/B20Vs and no griddle.

    Hey, how did you like the ACL oil pump? I’ve heard some good and bad things about it. I have already bought one for my b20v build and I’m scared it might fail. Did you have issues with yours ? Please let me know. Thank you

    You didn’t have to notch the bock using the ARP rod bolts? I’m assuming you are using.

    • @UNIQUEGrills
      @UNIQUEGrills  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. You don’t notch anything on B series. D series yes.
