Elvis is one hell of a mechanic but that repair on the arch was horrible. I don't think he has the experience Edd had with body repairs

Im a sheet metal guy and that panel job was horrendous.
@@nickybyrne4961 and I was a professional coachbuilder, worked at Rolls Royce and welded the Starship Enterprise together and it looked absolutely fine to me.
I am a welder the body language tells me he hasn't done much welding

I’ve actually just bought one of these with 80000 on the clock in lovely condition for £250 off marketplace and all it needs is some of the stitching redone on the roof.and can’t wait to give it a good detail and service ready for spring.

I saw the whole episode on TV. As he test drove the car Mike got on about how bad this car drove and sounded. And right he was! Just for a second you could see a rusty exhaust. But no sign of it on the list of repairs. Not to mention the engine. 113000miles and the didn't even pop the hood? And four full adjustable shocks for 200 quid? You must be kidding me! The producers must think the viewers are complete idiots! This is going on for quite a while and sadly it's not the only car show where they treat the audience like some uncritical dimwitts!
200 quid coilovers I bet they're total dog crap.
ALL coil overs are terrible, you need a back made of granite for them, leave them for track cars. Stock shocks and lowered springs gives you nice ride height and comfortable cruising.
@@DoubleOSeven007 no it doesn't as stock shocks hit the bump stops on alot cars with lowering springs fitted. Top of the range fully adjustable coilovers are fine if you buy cheap they'll be rubbish
@@DoubleOSeven007 lower springs on standard shocks throws the spring weight out massively and your driving on a pre compressed shock giving a worse ride usually bouncy.

Candy Apple Red/Burgundy is the best colour in my opinion for this generation.
I prefer a base GL. The auto roof always fails. Its super easy top to raise!

@@Car_and_classic_lover yeah they wanted him to do more comedy stuff and less working on cars which he hated. I have a wheels dealers dvd set with thr original first 3 seasons but can't watch it because it's in the UK format. I asked for a multi region DVD player for Christmas so hopefully I'll finally get to watch them back. I love the first 3 seasons just ed working on the cars no bs
@@ecymbura31 yeah the early episodes were great, just about the work on the cars as you said.
I really didn't like the ones out in America simply because the work on the cars seemed a little compromised by what discovery wanted and to me everything seemed dramatised for no reason.
I'm liking the latest series though, I think Elvis is a great mechanic and if you look on the positive side, we now have two great car shows to watch, one with edd and one with Elvis and Mike.
@@Car_and_classic_lover I don’t like the American episodes either one thing I love about the old episodes is all the scenery from the UK it always looked so peaceful and quiet there. Mike would buy cars that were actually cheap and just needed some tlc but as time went on they started restoring cars more than just fixing them up. I just think the episodes from the UK in the little shop are the best

You forgot to put in one thing: windshield.
It came with the car, did include £234 for fitting, but left out, paintwork,how many hours labour, lost money, calls himself a dealer?
So much for these well built vws cars like all cars full of faults can any body tell me what vehicle you can buy with out faults or recalls i keep asking this because when they say well built well made i look up on the internet to see try it your seif and sea what what comes up love wheeler dealers

All VWs are rust buckets, I stopped buying Transporters and now own a Vivaro and my daughter a Trafic. both 100% rust free and better to drive and own.
Call themselves dealers, £400 profit, minus how many hours labour? So actually lost money yet again. And I was looking forward to watch how they blended the paintwork in on the bodged wheel arch, but that never happened either
Exhaust was rusty and looked as though it needed replacing, the engine could have done with a service, didn’t mention cost of paintwork after the bodged wheel arch repair, plus how many hours labour? So Brewer, you’ve lost money yet again, you fool.
