    Very nice video. Informative, and really nice job getting the camera to show exactly what you were working on, especially in those tight spots. Thanks!

    This was a fantastic video. It’s easily the best instructions I’ve seen for dealing with the connectors. Thanks for sharing!

    Terrific video. Best look at the way to undo the connectors I have seen. That seems to be the biggest problem when attempting to remove the radio. Thanks again for the great video.

    Mucho Many Thanks For This! I tackled this job today; I'm embarrassed to say how many hours it took, LOL. Musta run back into the house 152 times to get through each step - I could NOT have done this job w/o this video! Fan/Heat Control did NOT work initially - I channeled my Dad, my Mom, and my deceased car helper buddy, and Voila! It started working! Hopefully I won't lose the Fan/Heat Controls if I hit a bump...
    Now to bench the old unit and see why it won't eject its CD(s) - Shaker 500 was in-op when I bought the car...

    Great video. Some videos tell you to disconnect the negative battery while doing this. I don’t think that’s really necessary and it doesn’t appear that you did that.

    This is the best of all the Mustang radio removals I've seen. Thanks so much for posting. I need to pull the unit out in order to just disconnect the CD player from the radio and then put it back in place. Even when the radio is turned off, the CD player is still draining my battery. Can you tell me which connector(s) are only for the CD player?

      The big clip on the back of the radio is the power source for radio and CD player. Try plugging in the other two and see if the radio works. But I’m not sure it will power on without the big plug.

      I’m having the same issue I removed the shaker and the car doesn’t die at all it runs great. But I tried different plugins and what not and still somehow get the clicking radio thing that drains the battery so I’m guessing we just gottah get another one

    Hey, great video.
    Does this Stang has an AUX Input?
    It says „AUX“ on the shaker pannel, but I can‘t find an input.

    I want to swap out my 07 Shaker 500 radio for an OEM Ford navigation/touch screen radio from the same generation (like the Shelby’s have) would I run into any issues, or would it install just as easily?

    If you replace the shaker with another shaker do you have to reprogram anything Or put a code in?

    While unplugging the bottom plugs of the climate control module, (the radio cover) I broke the grey lock on the electrical wire connection on the passenger side. I managed to plug it back in without the lock present, and it seemed to go all the way in and click, but now I have no A/C-As in, absolutely nothing happens on ANY of the settings. Could breaking the lock of the aforementioned wiring connector have caused the wires to not properly connect, thus causing my problem? Or is it likely something else?
    By the way, I changed my blend air door actuators (the two I replaced are both mechanically and electrically connected) while taking my radio in and out, so I don't think that's the issue, but just so you know

      Check both connectors to make sure they are in correctly. Passenger side the clip is at the top. Driver side the black clip is on the bottom. Good luck.

    When I removed the radio it was 3 connectors. The wire harness I shop around have two connectors. What is the 3rd connector for?

    My radio gets the same signal for every station and then the signal distorts, I thought It was the antenna but it’s not, does it mean it’s the radio and I need a new one?

    Question. I have a 2006 Mustang GT with the Shaker 500. The FM band has ceased to work. Popped out the head unit and began looking for an ORM replacement. The model number on my unit ends with “ HE”. Most of the head units I have found end in “ GE”. Some have stated the antenna connection isn’t the same between these two head units. Both have identical 06 model numbers except for the last two. Letters. Any thoughts concerning if what I have been told is true? Find it hard to believe Ford would change the head unit antenna connection mid year, but stranger things have happened. Thanks

    • @MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC
      @MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The are correct. The 2005 & 2006 Shaker radio has a different antenna connection than the 2007-2009. If you can match the “HE” to a replacement than you are good. Best case, you look at the antenna connection on your unit and the one you are looking to buy. Make sure they are the same before you buy.

      Thank you for the verification and timely response. I used your video to remove my head unit. Videos like yours makes life easy. Unfortunately when Ford decides to change head 7nits during a model year, it makes life difficult. Loads of units ending in GE, but practically none ending in my HE. Figures lol.

      @@mikekellum6238 Try to find one that has the same antenna port as your current unit. The Shakers have three ports for connections and the antenna port. 2005 & 2006 do not have a white spindle in the middle of the antenna port.

    • @mikekellum6238
      @mikekellum6238 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately all the units I find are on line and I can only go by the photos of the back of the unit. Some antenna openings appear to be the same but not seeing them in person gives me cause for concern, Don’t want to buy a unit that won’t work. If I could validate a GE version works with the HE version I would be set. Thanks again.@@MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC

      There are several fuses that relate to the radio. Check all of the fuses to the radio. Also, it could be the replacement unit isn’t working properly. Try putting your old radio back in to see if there is power to the radio.
