Thank you so much for including the recipe since I was just a boy this has been my favorite birthday treat I thought when my mom had passed away in August I was afraid that she took the original recipe with her hopefully I can make one the right way for my birthday next month I hope you guys had a happy holiday and have a happy new year because you have truly brightened my own
Awey,,, I love the way Kendall looks at you... in this video,, with such adoration,,,what a little sweetheart.Momma you are truly Blessed! Thanks for sharing your recipe with us.
Oh my - that definitely looked 'scrumptious'. I love that you are passing family recipes to your daughters and creating memories 💕 Thank you Renee and Kendell.
My grandmother made something similar that her mother made in Germany. It had fruit mixed in the plain layer. Great memories. Enjoy the family time---I miss that!
Weeeell, what can I say... That looks delicious! 🤤 You know, Renee, you are spoiling us now! I could get used to watching new videos from you & the family each day!
Christmas is coming, so it's the perfect occasion! By the way, I would really like to try some of your choco bombs, but I live in Eastern Europe, so the logistics could be a problem hahaha
Thanks for sharing this video. A cafe close to where I used to work made a pie like this; and they called it dream pie. I make a pie that has the same layers; but the recipe calls for pistachio pudding instead of chocolate and vanilla. Everyone loves it. I think what really makes these pies stand out from others is the crust and the pecans.
I think it's called Scrumptious Pie because it's Scrumptious! In the 70's one of my coworkers used to bring that pie to all the pot lucks except she used pistachio pudding and pistachio nuts. This recipe looks so yummy since I'm a chocolate lover! It's so wonderful to make something that is yummy and also brings back special memories.
My son makes this every year for his wife’s birthday but they call it Ribbon Cake. Don’t know where they got the recipe but it is the same as yours. He made it Nov 29 and I got to have a piece. It is scrumptious!
@Meowch Another one here that's made it for years. I've heard both of those names but we have called it Chocolate Cream Delight. Only difference is with the crust (base), we don't add sugar and melt the butter and just mix it together with the flour and walnuts.
We do something similar but we have a gluten free ginger snap crust. When I was a toddler (I'm 57 yrs old) there were no "gluten free" products so my mum used a crushed corn flakes / brown sugar & butter crust. Everything else was pretty much the same but we used homemade custard as our 1st layer then whipped cream mixed with cream cheese, then choclate pudding and the top is more whip cream/ cream cheese. Then we sprinkled grated chocolate on top. We had no nuts ( allergies in the family). Old recipes are the best and bring back so many happy memories. Merry Christmas to your famil from up here in Canada. Enjoy your time with your daughters.
Wow!!....you didn't include the step where you remove all the calories!!...looks delish and my weakness would be to have a piece with a cup of coffee the next morning for breakfast, but I'm sure there are never any leftovers!!...great recipe and thank you for sharing!!
We have been making this in my family for 50 years for every holiday. Everyone fights over who gets to take the leftovers home. Some have been known to sneak it out of the house and take to football playoffs the weekend of Thanksgiving. We call it Million Dollar Dessert. We live in Southern Ohio. I love watching you Renee. It is like talking to an old girlfriend. You are so real and such a beautiful person inside and out. Love you, your family and your precious little dogs. I have 6 Yorkies and a mix dog that reminds me alot of Pollux! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!!
I have made this for so many years I can’t even say how long. At some point I started making a graham cracker crust instead. So good. Has to be Honey Maid Graham Cracker crumbs though.
Love these home spun recipes that taste delicious. I think we've made this before using no chocolate but coconut pudding and or vanilla or butterscotch. This recepie is flexible and adaptable to most any situation. Thanks for sharing.
You know I’m making this one! Love your dessert recipes, made the Christmas Crack & Bran Flake Muffins love them both. Thank you for sharing. May you & your family have a Safe and Happy New Year.
This looks fabulous ! Thanks for sharing. My daughter and my heart are in Milwaukee as well. I’m only five hours away, but it feels like a million miles some days. Thank goodness for FaceTime. Happy Holidays to you and your family 🎄
Thank you girls for the video! It truly is scrumptious! My family always made this the very same way, only with lemon pudding; we call it Lemon Lush! 😋🥰
I make a similar version of this. I got the recipe from a lady I used to go to church with. I have been making it since I was a teenager and I am in my 50s now. She called it "chocolate delight." So yummy!
Wow! This dessert is an oldie, but definitely a goodie!!! When I was a little girl my family made this with different pudding variations. We all called it striped delight. My first ever was made with pistachio pudding & pistachio nuts. I now make it & sometimes even make it with apple pie filling. Pumpkin pudding is yummy too! Thanks for sharing (I’m late watching 😂)
Looks delicious. It's important to learn your favorite recipes, when you are out on your own or you will miss this. I remember calling mom to see what I did wrong on pinto beans, so silly to not know.
My momma makes a version of this..we call it chocolate lush We do everything but the vanilla pudding! In fact it's always my request for bdays or special events 😁
@@WelcomeToMyCurls I would have to omit the pecans from the crust...I have a few people with an allergy to nuts. I imagine it wouldn't be a big difference in taste to leave out those pecans.
You and Kendall (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) make baking look so easy. Another wonderful video and it's only Day 4. I'm not much of a baker myself, but I'm going to be trying out this recipe next weekend with my own daughter, Kyla. Look forward to more. It's like opening up a present every morning with your videos. Thanks again!
All I can say is yum yum yum. Oh but there's more. How lovely it is to share and preserve Christmas Traditions with Kindle( so sorry if I misspelled your name). We already made the french green beans with bacon wrap and brown sugar for Thanksgiving. Now we are trying the Christmas Crack. Have a lovely with all your family and friends and the baby doggies. 💘 Love all you have shared with us and made us feel like friends.
I have made that since the 70’s. The only difference is that I use only chocolate instant pudding. In Charleston SC we call it Chocolate Delight. I am going to make it for my family Xmas party since I have forgotten about it. This solve my problem of what to make. Thanks for the reminder. So easy to make, too.
I make this all the time only I use graham crackers for the crust and I layer my vanilla and chocolate pudding separately top it off with a Cool Whip after chilling a few hours and the flavors of mix it is scrumptious
Oh my gosh! I know why it's called Scrumptious Pie.....it looks so Scrumptious! I don't cook much but I'm going to try to make this! Thanks for sharing this!! Happy Vlogmas!!
