Yes. I’ve had to turn a rental property into code enforcement in my town. I made the complaint on line at their website with a written description and picture. They issue a warning to the owner to take care of it. If not, they cut it and charge the owner. Thanks for the work you do.

The homeowner probably rented out this house the first time with a maintained yard, but the renters that moved out never maintained it and now the new renter was going to take care of the yard but Fill's Lawn Care took care of it. Home owners should state in the rental agreement that the renters have to maintain the yard or have the home owner do so and send the bill to the renters or increase the rent to compensate for this yard work. Many renters assume they don't have to maintain the yard of the home they rented, but that is not the case in most States.

All the rental agreements I ever had stated very clearly that the renter was responsible to maintain the yard, its the norm.
The landlord should be ashamed of himself to let the grass get in the condition it was in and then to have the nerve to rent it out . He sounds like a money hungry hog.😮

Fill I think you are the only one that rakes up all the long grass and takes it away. Many of the mowers just leave the grass in the yard. When your lawn job is done the yards always look much nicer than the other lawn mowers. Another great job Fill! 👍😎

That would've been a red flag for me that the owner is a slum lord. To show a potential tenant that house without cutting the yard tells me that you don't give a damn.
Great transformation Fill!! The adjacent neighbor (with the 2-story, blue house) owes you a rib dinner. The tall grass by the tenant’s fence made their house look bad. They had a beautiful yard but you fixed that for them by doing a great job to the tenant’s lawn.
A typical personal lawnmower could not have handled that yard. The home owner should have taken care of that. Shame on them. Disgraceful. Slumlord. Ugh. Thank you for helping the renter.

I haven't had any violations but b4 we bought the .50 acre lot next to our existing .50 acre w/house I had to call them bcs the lot was owned by an out of state [FL] developer that let it go. Rodents & snakes were a problem. Luckily the code enforcement supervisor grew up in my house [small town 🇺🇸] and took care of my request right away. We bought the lot and keep it mowed, and natural for the neighborhood and the wildlife. Everyone is happy we're not building on it!!!

I believe most owners have it in “their lease” when the tenet has the responsibility to keep-up the yard, so, I don’t think it’s “always a surprise” when the are approached or confronted about the condition of the yard….. as a single mom (years ago) I bought a lawn mower from a yard sale & kept up the place where we lived…… it’s called priority and caring about where you live …… “ my mom used to say: how you going to care for something better if you don’t take care of where you are “? She said this to us as we were growing up 💗💗💗💗

Looks great! Having a gate large enough to use a riding lawn mower is a "must" for this home owner. Push mowing it, like you had to do, would be a "no thank you" from any future lawn mowing service help...I am sure the renter and neighbors appreciate all your hard work!
Far to often, renters tend to get very lax on lawn care, while some expect the owners to take care of that. Either way, I am sure that code enforcement has certain properties that are permanently on their radar. Anywho, soooo amazing how you step up to the plate and take care of so many of these properties in need! Keep it up, You ROCK!!!

At 38:50, you’ll notice some hinges. There’s the place where the fence opens to let in your riding mower.

Code Enforcement may also be responding to a neighbor who is bothered by the lack of yard maintenance and repeatedly reports them.
