    Hey Mr Al
    I did a fitting tryed the p790, nope didn't work out for me. But gave them a proper try tho ! since Ive heard so much about them. Ended up with Mizuno 921 forged. And haven't looked back since.

    Great review Al - Keep seeing p790 v T200 irons but personally I think a head to head against the T350 would be a much closer battle (lofts aside)

    I tried them along with the the P770 and the Ping i525s. Then I went to Titleist T200 and my lord. The feeling in the T200s was way better than all the other clubs.

    Just an idea for fun based on a retro vibe.. how about you compare something like a MacGregor Muirfield and see how “feel” has evolved over time. Compare against modern forged irons, cavity and these hollow jobbies
    Just a fun idea 👍⛳️🤷‍♂️

    What do you think about these P790s versus the Dynapwr forged that you loved? I hit these two the best in my fittings and I’m torn. I like the looks of the P790 more but I like the Wilson in terms of feel and price!

  • @alanmartins6349

    IMO the Takoma 101 irons are the equivalent and are just as good for half the price.

    • @jeffreymarkanich6076
      @jeffreymarkanich6076 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the R&D at TaylorMade is very hard to beat. I’m figuring that the inside of the club is where the action is. I also love the Takoma’s and think they look beautiful. I would pay money to see a forgiveness test with both irons. I would guess that the P790 is way more forgiving on off center hits. However, Is that (possible) added forgiveness worth the significant price difference? I think we know the answer to that as we both probably know people who will happily spend an extra $500 for a driver that is 5 yards longer. Hopefully someone will do that forgiveness test.

    • @alexetchesgolf
      @alexetchesgolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Define better in every way? Because it really isn’t close to being the game golf club.

    • @mikeshar852
      @mikeshar852 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexetchesgolf I have both. I’m a 16 handicap. I also own ping g425 which are the most forgiving clubs I’ve played. The mizuno look better, actually feel like forged clubs, sound better, and I see no difference in forgiveness between them. The p790 feel and sound more like my g425 than they do to the mizunos. Obviously they’re amazing clubs. But if you’re looking for a blade looking club that feels forged yet is forgiving, the 225s win each category. P790 in no way shape or form feel or sound like forged irons. But obviously this is how I feel. I’d be very surprised if any fair minded person that isn’t loyal to a brand would disagree.
