@@arielcardozo6907It seems you have fans who are strictly Bon Scott, those who are strictly Brian Johnson and those who fall somewhere in between. It's a hot button debate for AC/DC fans. I saw them in 1979 in San Antonio 5 months before Bon Died. A friend called me about two hours before the show, said he had a ticket for me but the seats sucked. When we got in the arena I found out we were sitting first row center section. As in this video the barricade was very close to the stage. Bon walked out with a cowboy hat on and had a big grin on his face. Angus had blood on his knees from sliding across the stage. If I had been in charge of that set list, I would've replaced "Problem Child", "Bad Boy Boogie", and "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be" with "T.N.T.", "Touch Too Much", and "She's Got Balls" instead.
They offered a complete box set from Midnight Special from 1970 through 1980. Got it for a Christmas present a few years back and it is nothing short of amazing. It has every band you can think of. Best present I ever got
And I'm 58. I've been listening to them. I've been going to see them live forever forever. It always fascinates me. Still watching Angus Young play that damn guitar and Bob in his head for the whole show. He is amazing. Without Angus there is no AC/DC. He is AC/DC. Thank God to their sister naming the band off the vacuum. That is true 1973. They came out going strong ever since. Thank you, AC/DC
I play in an AC/DC tribute band. I have watched literally hundreds of hours of their live performances. I've never seen anything better than this. I am completely blown away..

They were the opening act at the Monsters of Rock Day on the Green in Oakland back in 1978. Opened for Van Halen, Foreigner, Pat Travers, and the headliner Aerosmith. How about waking up to AC/DC- they blew everyone else away. Wow...I miss Bon Scott! This is the AC/DC I was raised on rocking with listening to throughout the 1970's! It's been so long I think I we've forgotten what AC/DC was before 1980 when he was replaced by Brian Johnson follwing his untimely death. This was full throttle hard rocking raw AC/DC that was the foundation for the legendary explosion of fame & fortune that happened after he died.
The combination of Angus and Bon is unmatched, so striking and captivating. Bon with those animated expressions on his face, looking right into the camera, the charisma, you can almost read his mind, he really knew how to connect with the audience. Then you have Angus strutting around frenetically without missing a note or beat, seemingly deranged or possessed by the music. Then add the rock solid foundation holding it all down- Malcolm, such a great rhythm player with great tone. The calm, steady foil to Angus and the tight team of Cliff WIlliams on bass and Phil Rudd on drums, pounding it out so solidly. So raw, no in ear monitors or fish tanks around the drums, old school all the way, how I wish more bands would play today. This is pure gold!!!🤘
It’s funny my cousins once told me that they were at a concert here in Houston. The first opening act nobody ever really pays attention to, so you go get your beer. They were standing in line and was listening to the band playing and they were kicking ass and he was like man who the hell is that. They literally got out of the line went to sit down and it was AC/DC opening up and they were kicking so much ass that people were literally leaving the lines going back to their seats to watch the band. And he said, during one of the songs that Bon Scott put Angus on his shoulders, and started walking through the crowd, while Angus was still playing. After that, they were huge fans, and they turned me onto him. I was probably 11 years old. And I’ve seen them quite a few times. Rest in peace Bon as well as Malcolm and if I’m blessed, maybe I’ll get to meet y’all guys on the other side. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
For a live TV performance nothing beats the Colchester Rock Goes to College show, but this is a close second place. Definitely the best live version of Sin City that I've seen, or heard. 1978 might have been AC/DC's peak.
High Voltage, T.N.T., Touch too much, Dirty Deeds, Riff Raff, Sin City, Bad Boy Boogie .... never has a band suited their song titles and lyrics better than Bon, Angus, Mal, Phil and Cliff. This is 100% PURE energy that just goes straight into every fibre of your body to fully absorb you in Rock'n'roll! Every one of Mal's riffs, no, every single chord played reall is just exploding in your face. Listening to this and watching the guys perform in their prime is quite literally a phyiscal experience more than anything. There absolutely cannot be any debate that AC/DC 1974-1980 was and still is the best rock band in the world. I adore the Stones, love The Who, admire Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple or Black Sabbath, love Status Quo, Van Halen, Metallica, Maiden, Priest and whathaveyou all the same... I dig Britpop (which IMHO was mainly rock, too, just with a couple of more pop-like or danceable underlying beats, admire the rawness of Punk and the sophistication and athmosphere of NewWave, Indie and Alternative. Hell, I even dig quite a bit of Rap, HipHop and Electronic stuff to go on - but the world has yet to show me a band that carries more energy and involvement in both their songs and their performances than the mighty 1970s Accadacca!
@@vincentmv898 Sure, Queen also clearly are one of the best groups ever BUT a completely different flavour. Queen ist not purely about power, energy and roughness. They sometimes played hard rock, but they never were a hardrock band. Loud, brash rock'n'roll is neither the majority nor the center of their work. There's far too much other styles and influences in their catalogue, IMHO: You have pop, funk, electronic, operatic and symphonic stuff, folk, ballads ... you name it... And towards rhe end of their career (I consider them finished since Freddie passed away) I am sorry for having to say that I could really barely stand them anymore (far too much pathos AND no more innovation).
I’m amazed Angus doesn’t have whiplash after that head bobbing. How he struts like that on stage year after year is amazing to me. What a fantastic performance! They were on 🔥
I saw them live that summer in an outdoor venue... so much fun and energy. Bon Scott carrying Angus on his shoulders into the crowd was fantastic... sad to see him pass a short time after Highway to Hell blew them up world wide.
I used to watch this show as a teenager back in the seventies. I didn't know how lucky I was to be a kid in the seventies. Thank God there was no phone cameras.
@@ACDZ123 Yes I forgot to add that! In the US that came out only after BIB, so in my mind it's still outside the 70's timeline. That actually turned me on to the pre-BIB releases and been a fan ever since. Got both Aussie and US releases too, because you just have to if you're a fan!
I saw AC/DC this same year in Albuquerque New Mexico with Journey. AC/DC blew away the boys from the bay. Never forget that concert angus young jumped off the stage and ran through the crows playing bad boy boogie. Then on the stage again he jumed off the speaker stack right on Bon shoulders and he finished the song with Angus jammin on his shoulders. Fuckin best concert I ever went to.
The day and song that got me hooked on AC/DC. When Bon died they were never the same for me. But through the "If You Want Blood..." era they were the shit.
Bon was the greatest frontman the world has ever seen . I saw them in 79 - highway to hell tour just before we lost him . Life changing for a 13 year old to see him - and then all - in their finest hour . Dc died when Bon died
I saw these boys live for the first time in 1976. Having just now watching this for the first time I have to say, as much as Brian Johnson has done with AC/DC, and he has had an EPIC run with the boys, absolutely epic! But watching Bon here....well... Bon was IT. He had IT. He WAS the MAN. No one can be better with AC/DC than Bon Scott. Great music. Great times, and now they are out on tour again...Go get 'em boys....Let There Be Rock!
Angus had the world's first laptop, at 0:21. This is why ACDC was so special. The US Government tried to keep them down and steal his technology, but, he and ACDC prevailed and even came up with the American anthem, "Thunderstruck."
Bon Scott. The ultimate voice of AC/DC. R.I.P. Bon and Malcolm Young.

Saw AC DC open for Kiss
For a live TV performance nothing beats the Colchester Rock Goes to College show, but this is a close second place. Definitely the best live version of Sin City that I've seen, or heard. 1978 might have been AC/DC's peak.
They had EVERYTHING. Mesmerizing singer, consumate showboat lead guitar, powerful rhythm section. Perfect rock band
To all those who have gathered here today about to rock, I salute you!
Early AC/DC is all gold man, if youve never heard the Bon Scott era youre missing out on the best stuff!
Bon Scott. Commanding doesn’t even begin to describe his presence .
Remember watching this episode! Can't wait for the whole show...AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick...it was a fun show that night!
Wow, that sounds EPIC!!!
ACDC always delivers.
Some bands, you never know who will show up, but ACDC is always tight.
The Bon Scott era of the band was so damn good. What a shame he passed when he did.
Queen?
They were on 🔥
His chiropractor must be flush by now.
When Angus flicks off the school boy cap it's GAME ON
Little did those people know they were watching what would go on to be the greatest
Rock -n- Roll for the next 50 years of all time! 😆🤘
I want to go back to this time period so bad.
I saw them live that summer in an outdoor venue... so much fun and energy. Bon Scott carrying Angus on his shoulders into the crowd was fantastic... sad to see him pass a short time after Highway to Hell blew them up world wide.
Rock on!
So so very lucky! Have seen vids of that shoulder carrying, can’t imagine the energy felt~produced seeing it live! 😊
Saw them 4th of July outside of Rockford Illinois with hometown heros Cheap Trick! Absolutely EPIC!!!
Nice bass solo by Cliff Williams. He had only recently joined the band at this point but fit right in.
Old bon just oooozes cool
What a song and what a voice. Mr Bon Sctott always missing you
Good God... ❤ it!!!
Rock was hard and loud, gritty and mean. A band of badasses with Mister Bon Scott leading the parade. Just wow.
They need to bring a show like this back. I remember going to school on Monday morning and everyone talking about Midnight Special.
Bon Scott chewing gum and singing at the same time. What a legend!😁
I remember watching it live when I was younger I'm 66
Every metal band owes homage to this performance!!
Сильнейшие рокеры суперская группа рок 🎸 навсегда здорово 👍
We are so grateful to have AC-DC in all its forms one of the greatest bands ever 🙂
This is awesome! Mom must of put me to bed before this episode started 😂
Totally unbelievable how good these guys were.
Are
I used to watch this show as a teenager back in the seventies. I didn't know how lucky I was to be a kid in the seventies. Thank God there was no phone cameras.
Caught Powerage on an alt radio station while studying late one night in college. Went out and bought their entire catalog the next day.
I love HTH, but “Powerage” was always my favorite. This channel kicks ass!
I wish I were alive back in the 70’s. Oh, wait a minute I’m 60 years old, I was. It was God damn awesome!
So RAW live! Bon's vocals are off the charts.
Bon could start a prison riot right there.
Mal and Angus on 🔥
Bon owned that stage and that crowd...at every show
Unabridled in your face rock n roll.Exactley how it should be.70’s acdc were on another level. You can feel this!!
Never been an AC/DC fan, but I absolutely love Bon Scott-era AC/DC. Can listen to High Voltage/LTBR/Powerage on repeat all day.
What about dirty deeds album? So many good songs ..get the Aussie albums
I'd say you were an AC/DC fan then.
"Never been an AC/DC fan, but love Bon Scott era AC/DC," = oxymoron.
Killer showmanship - Angus gave his all 110%! What a time
I saw AC/DC this same year in Albuquerque New Mexico with Journey.
Powerage is the best hard rock album. Ever.
That's right. Nothing but rock.
That voice! Wild yet delivered with perfect control! There really is nothing like it. 🤗
Одна из любимых вещей ранних АC/DC Весь альбом 1978 -самый глубокий из творчества АС/ДС
Malcolm really glued the whole thing together from the shadows. This is such an awesome clip. Rock and roll
I was a teenager watching this show at midnight on Fridays in the 70s.. the most awesome bands ever!!!
Bonn and Angus were the best front men ever and Malcom was the engine! Best rock n roll band in my opinion.
Well said 👍
Luv watching Angus run around powered w/ his battery backpack ❤
Phil Rudd and Malcom were the engine, Rudd was a time machine, very well respected in the drumming world...
The day and song that got me hooked on AC/DC. When Bon died they were never the same for me. But through the "If You Want Blood..." era they were the shit.
Bon growls like a tiger! And all guys outstanding here. Rock N Roll to everybody!
AC⚡️DC were a force to be reckoned with back then and I loved going to their concerts , so much energy and raw talent that you will never see again
😂😂😂
