    Hi Tash, I love your design on your Paper Dolls sweater! All your WIPs are gorgeous and I’m staggered by the amount of knitting in all of those Carnaby skirts!😳👏❤️
    I’ve been knitting a baby kimono jacket and beanie for a women’s refuge and had forgotten how tedious seaming can be! I usually knit seamless projects but this little kimono pattern is adorable and very roomy for wriggly babies so it’s absolutely worth it.
    Knitting brings me so much joy, I love seeing patterns and designs coming to life. The soothing and happiness factors for me are scrumptious!!!
    Thanks for another fabulous episode. 😃🧶❤️

      You would be surprised by the skirt knitting - there wasnt really that much in it at all. Dense knitting - but 500 m of worsted weight so not crazy.
      Thanks so much for the encouragement. Enjoy the baby knitting. I love seeing little finished garments. :)

    Hi Tash, great episode. I would def do another inch or so on the cumulus tee. I think it will work best for tucking in and also this is pretty classic design so if the high waisted stuff goes out of fashion which of course it will, then you’ll still be able to wear this comfortably not tucked in. @mostlyknitting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Bec - yeah - it does need to be able to be tucked in and bloused a little.... And then will work ok left out as well if not too long. :)

    Hi Tash. I think another inch on your cumulus would be perfect. So glad your going to knit a half and half wrap. I'm working on the second half of mine, picking it up when I want mindless knitting. I'm knitting it with linen quill and love the feel of the yarn. I have more on the way from purl Soho to knit a sweater.

      Thanks so much Cheryl. Definitely adding length to the Cumulus. That seems to be a consensus. It is nice when I get the same feedback from everyone. ;) Glad you are enjoying both the Linen Quill and the Half and Half pattern. That will be a nice long term knit. :)

      @mostlyknitting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much for the feedback. Darker for over dyeing is definitely easier so I reckon that is a good option. Definitely doing another inch on Cumulus. I will also do a button tutorial video shortly. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. :)

    Definitely another inch on the cumulus tee. Love seeing all your knits. Don’t know where you get the time to be so productive!
    I think I saw a moth flying around your desk a couple of times. So I would put that pink carnaby skirt back in its bag. If it was me, I would frog that skirt and knit something else with the wool. The colour may end up uneven after dyeing anyway.

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much Robyn. Definitely adding length on the Cumulus. eeek - a moth. I hope not. They are around but I am really good about keeping all my knits in sealed bags and lots of lavender sachets. I cant see any signs of moth damage but I might pop it in the freezer just in case. Cant hurt. I am going to try the dyeing as it cant hurt to try and then have another think if that doesnt work. :)

    Hi Tash, ugh garment length - it's always something I struggle with. I think another inch might be good. Love your wips, sometimes a night tight gauge in plain knitting is just so lovely. Your overdying, I would try and dip the lighter area in first (if possible and yes it's supposed to be damp/wet) and also don't forget to add acid (vinegar or citric acid). You're not really going to know unless you try and then if it's not changed enough then either dye darker or frog. Nice discount save on purl soho - I always say never be afraid to ask! Have a great weekend and thanks for the fun, Karen.

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much for the dyeing tips Karen. Great idea to dip the lighter section first. I am so curious to see how it will turn out. And nothing lost really - i am not going to wear it as is.... x

    So happy when another one of your podcasts comes out! I LOVE your friends from the vault, you look stunning in them! You "should" definitely wear the orange one, it is such a gorgeous vibrant happy colour, I am not usually a fan of orange but this one, and the one of your ranunculus are beautiful. With colours it really depends on so little to completely change if we like it or not. I think it's worth you doing the crochet chain thing! And yes that skirt would look lovely in tweed as well. I am inspired by it, but I wonder how it would fit me. Love the top too. The cumulus, I would add just a slight bit more, it's funny, I would have the same hesitation on starting a new ball, but when we think about it, why in the end, right? it's a lovely top and that colour is so pretty, as is the aqua one. The half an half...yes it's a free pattern on their website, and there are loads of people who have made it, with variations making german short rows instead of wrap and turn for example. I also had my relatives bring me some linen quill to make it! But in the meantime I started making it with drops alpaca, but somehow was not convinced, I wonder if it is the yarn in garter, it did not seem to come out as regular as I would have wished. I am not sure if it is because I am not used to garter, my stockinette is regular usually, or if it is the alpaca that shows every irregularity, and I wonder if it would even out if blocked...so I just stopped because it is such a huge project...I think I need to try it with the linen quill instead...I bought two different shades of blue. I also had a good experience with their customer service, they are very friendly. Very inspired by those colors you chose from that Andrea Mowry sweater, a very vintage contrast. lovely!...I just decided that I am going to invest in a very good strapless bra so that next summer I knit myself some of those super cute tops with tiny straps! Oh, I feel I resonate so much with all the projects, all the billions of plans I would love to knit. except you actually do knit most of them! you are such a speedy (and great knitter)...I think I am going to start a written wishlist I revisit because my ravelry ❤ has become impossible 😂. I love the idea of your hidden basket, so motivating to solve/finish the unfinished business! the pink carnaby skirt is also very pretty, I actually think it could be a fashion statement with the different panels of color, but I understand if it's not your thing, please don't unravel it before giving it a try with the dye! Go with the pink, I saw someone suggested starting with the lighter panel. I have dyed different clothes with those kind of dyes in the washing machine, but never woolen knits. I did dye a vintage dress that had a stain and it came out so pretty and the stain was hidden. and other things, the colour was not always what I had expected but it was fun. Oh gosh! sorry this was so long! I write a lot because I feel like interacting with your video and chatting with you😊 take care 🌸🌺 Barbara

      Hi Barbara, I love reading your comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to write. Replying to comments is actually one of the things I enjoy the most about making the podcast. Editing - not so much. But I need to work on finding a way to like it, because I do want to improve in this area. I think garter in pure alpaca may not look as even as you are used to in stockinette. It would probably block out ok and you could try doing that mid project to see if it was worth contnuing. Having a knitting wishlist is a great idea. I cleaned up my ravelry queue a while ago and edited it from hundreds to about 30 now. A bit more manageable. It is worth trying to rescue something with dyeing before frogging all the work so I am definitely going to give that a go. Have a great week. x

Love the Tee but yes 5 cms or inch an a bit will do the job, especially when you move and lift arms...Go ahead ab dye the skirt. My friend dyed a yellow cardigan with green and got kind of an olive green. Your skirt will be much more even- such a nice design. Happy knitting

    Hi Tash, Thanks for another juicy video! Love your FO (friend) from the vault! I hope you enjoy your half and half. I've started another one as soon as I finished the first one:) It's a meditive, comforting knit. I still havent photographed it yet to add it to your KAL. Purl soho are amazing, they retro credited me because I'd ordered a day before they had a 20% off sale, without me even asking :) I would dye with the pink, it will look fabulous! Please dont frog it, all that work!!! Def, add another inch to the cumulus! Ps. I recently bought a Hyundai i30 and its so so lovely to drive. I was advised not to buy an MG, just by the way.

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Kaz - that is a great commendation for a large knit with the half and half - that you started another one straight away. I am looking forward to starting it. And I am so glad to hear you had such a great experience with Purl Soho as well. This is obviously consistent great customer service. I will definitely give dyeing the Pink carnaby a go. I will start with the dye i have and if that doesnt do enough of a difference, i will try with a red. Blocking the Cumulus didnt add any length so another inch of knitting to be done. Thank you so much for your car recommendation for the Hyundai. I have passed that on to my husband and we are looking at more options. :)

    You are so right about not wanting to cut yarn! And starting another ball, as if a full solitary 50 g ball is any more useful than a part ball. An MG here (Canada) is a little sports car and I’m pretty sure that’s not on your list of safe cars😀. I love my Soho Top but it seemed to take forever to get a few inches of garter so it ended up being my first crop top. I’m not a fan of the look of garter but somehow this top looks great.

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am glad to hear you are happy with the result of the Soho top, even though the garter can be such slow going. The old MGs are little sporty cars but the new ones are in a whole range of styles. We are looking at a smallish SUV. They seem sturdy and safe and have a lot of extra safety features which is important. I know - it is so silly that i would think 50g is more useful than 40g. Cant do much with either and if i wanted to make something, it would involve stripes and I would just manage with whatever i had left (or buy another ball if i needed it). Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. :)

    Finishing up viewing - Overdying thought: Do you have any waste yarn or leftover yarn from the skirt? Maybe mix all the dye, set most of it aside for a day or so later (I used to store mine in gallon vinegar or gallon water bottles with lids. A large bucket with a lid from a hardware store would also work), dye and set (I used to use the microwave for 30-60 seconds with the item in plastic wrap), and then see what you think. If you're happy with it, you then have the dye all ready to go! Hope this helps!

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Melissa, I wish i hadnt already attempted dyeing before reading your message. Absolutely none of the dye took as there wasnt enough heat. So I will have to try again and choose a dye that is meant for wool... Thanks so much for the tip. I will knit a swatch with the leftover yarn and dye that first. :)

    Hi Tash Love your cumulus tee, but I think that it is a wee bit short for tucking in and another inch would be good. I have never dyed before but wouldn’t it dye showing the difference in colour still? If you wanted to do a different colour what about a shade of brown, I do notice you don’t wear a lot of drown so perhaps you don’t like the colour! Your exploration station shawl is looking amazing in those colours and the dark pink really pops - I love it. Looking forward to seeing a few finished objects next week lol ❤

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much Carol. Thanks for your thoughts on how the color difference will show anyway. Karen (casuaringirl) suggested dipping the lighter colour in first so i could try that. You are right - i dont wear a lot of brown. But I do like it. And a brown skirt is a really good staple. A nice chocolate brown could be a great idea - tempted to just go straight to that... But i have the pink dye so i may as well try it. Yay for FOs. The Cumulus will get at least another inch of length. I have just woven in all the other ends and blocking it now to check for any possible growth... x

    Hi Tash. Love your weekly videos. I’m also knitting the cumulus tee, but using Sandnes Garn Tynn Line. However, my progress is a little slower than yours 😂. In my opinion, a few more centimetres would be good ? 5cms. Then you would have enough to tuck in and tbh the fabric is quite fine so there won’t be tonnes of bulk.

      Hi. The colour is a pale pink, not dissimilar to the KfO ‘Ballerina’ shade you are using, although a more dusty pink. The Tynn Line yarn is lovely. Soft and light with great drape. I think you will like it when yours arrives from the USA, and it will look fab knitted up for the Kuutar top 😍
