if you haven't already, check out Basie & Peterson's piano duo albums : Satch And Josh, and Satch And Josh...Again. While there's no question that OP rules with dexterity and speed, CB just plain out-swings him!
Can you all please stop trying to compare the two and give everything an explanation and just enjoy the music and realize the beautiful music these two came together to play.
In an interview with Andre Previn, Oscar said that CB "really can play". A lot of people love(d) the CB understated performances. The styles could not be more opposite.

chrish12345, yes I certainly rate OP as much better than CB, not just based on this performance, but overall. There is no comparison - it is doubtful if any jazz/improvisational pianist has ever exceeded OP’s virtuosity. The possible exceptions are Art Tatum (though no in my personal opinion) and Franz Liszt (can't say for sure on this one, for obvious reasons ;-).
Count basie just sometimes likes to keep it simple lol. Why would he play along side oscar if he wasnt good its more like oscar is playing alongside him. Just look up more of Count's stuff
