  • I have added a few Leatherman Charge models to my collection, so I thought I would update this video. Which would you consider your favorite model?

    Thanks for great video.
Little silly story: I have three leathermans (charge tti, free p4 and rebar) and I really liked them and didn't want scratch them up or damage them so I kept them at home.
One day my buddy asked me to help him change his car battery. We got the battery, drove to his house, open the hood of his car and realized we don't have a single tool to do it with....
Now I keep rebar at home, charge tti in my car and carry free p4 at work. And I truly enjoy using my tools! Because I realized that these are tools, they are not meant to sit on shelf collecting dust. Leatherman gives you 25 year warranty too.
In your case, however these are some really rare and expensive collectibles. So it's different story

DROOOL...!! Lovely collection there, Ben! I have 'only' my orange G10 that was a must have to replace a trusty Gerber that passed on intact to my grandson! Not a wealthy man, I've just got room for the one, so it's an EDC treasure in my man bag. Thanks for the show & tell, especially love the rare pieces! Regards, RRC

I bought the original Leatherman many years ago at a store called Tool Crib of the North in Grand Forks North Dakota. I bought the tool cuz I never seen anything else like it. I shopped Cabelas frequently but don't recall seeing any Leatherman products until much later when I already owned mine. Perhaps there were smaller dealers who peaked the tool interest to Cabela's. Thanks for the interesting info that helps those of us with a limited budget to explore what is available.

Thanks for sharing. Since your first review of the orange g10 version, it was on top of my wishlist, but I ended up buying the titanium version because it had a temporary price drop, nearly down to 110 dollars range in the local online market and g10 was still in the 200 dollars range. Now Wave plus is more expensive than the price I got charge plus TTI when I got it.
Charge plus TTI had a sharp edge on the plier jaws and I got a small cut by the edge while opening it like a butterfly knife. It’ got my blood and I feel a strong bond with it now.

    Great collection!
Really wish they just implemented the scale tools in a production Charge instead of wasting the idea in the Darkside. I can't imagine anyone NOT wanting the scale tools in a production model Charge (call it the Charge 2 or Charge ++ or whatever Leatherman wants), so I don't know why they had to use a limited Garage release to test out the scale tools AGAIN.

Wish the nasa version was standard... it really irks me that they can easily do it but don't! It's why i keep going back to Victorinox... the plus scales and tools can be purchased for less than $15... and its an upgrade i can do my self! This concept has a proven track record in the market place it seems like an obvious business move! Can't understand why they don't pursue it! Great video of your collection, thanks for sharing!

leathermans leadership doesn't make much sense like when they discontinued the juice lineup and ever since then never made a tool to fill that role mostly now it feels like leatherman has gone to far into gimmicky features and sprint runs cause not gonna lie the free series tools is the single most gimmicky disappointing set i've seen. Plus being realistic when you compare fit and finish victorinox is on another level especially with their swiss tool series leathermans new ideas look like an intern who forgot that in order for a tool to be useful it needs a useful tool set...not 4 flat head drivers and no bit exchanger and sub par blade steel.

I sent my gen 1 in for warrantee due to a broken flat driver and the new titanium one they sent back is significantly thicker than the gen one I sent and seems to weigh more. It also seems to weigh more than a wave +. I didn’t realize they changed this. I’m quite disappointed.

Nice collection. I m a big fan Spyderco knife like Shaman or Manix. I was affraid that the blade length will be too small in multitool. A few month ago i bought Charge + black aluminum sklills, and the blade length is acceptable. I am using this multitool every day, its really heavy duty tool and pocket friendly.
