What I find interesting between Mitsurugi and Hwang is that they share similar moves so it’s no wonder they’re equivalent as the Ryu and Ken in the Soul series
The story there is slightly different. When Soul Edge was exported to Korea, the Koreans mostly liked it, but specifically did not accept Mitsurugi because... well, let's just say that Koreans don't like samurai very much. So they replaced him with a sprite swap, a proper Korean hero named Hwang Seong-gyeong. When Soul Edge was ported over to consoles (as Soul Blade), Hwang was included with minor tweaks; but in later iterations of Soul Edge Arcade, Hwang was also included as a hidden character. Korea's refusal of Mitsurugi continued into Soul Calibur, where he was replaced by Arthur, a random British orphan who ended up in Japan and became a self-taught pseudo-samurai.
Probably the easiest ABK combo to pull off is Seong Mina especially with her ultimate weapon giving all that weapon gauge regen. Also the ending fight against the tanegashima rifleman is the second hardest ending for me. The hardest for me bar none is Voldo. I'm really enjoying this series though.
Can I just appreciate how different you make each of the cutscenes with Soul Edge? Helps give some variety to each run.
My favourite line in SC2 9:40

Iron Slasher in later entries would have its name kept untranslated as Zantetsuken (Iron cutting sword).
Water moon was the king of the survival mode
I like to believe that Mursame is literally a ref to the legendary cursed blade and it hurts the user. Ergo, no one in Japan would use it lmao
