Mate, cought the Sambar bug when I was in my early teens, fifty six next birthday. Mates n I hunt the same as you do, but meat hunters, antlers a bonus. Have them on my doorstep, but love the big country. See plenty when on my horse, he points like a bird dog when onto one. Love watching your clips. Same ethics as I preach. Your a true Sambar hunter showing total respect to an amazing animal, and the country they live in.
Always a good watch and I know how steep those little gully's can get. Unlucky for Kev but you gave it a good crack. Just another reason for him to make the trip back down south once again.
Love your respect for the animals you hunt mate. Hunting deer with a thermal is just admitting to everyone that you are apathetic human and an even worse hunter
Another great video Zeb. I always learn a lot from your content and I’m about to post a “thanks” short on my channel for your vid with Dodge. It helped me harvest my most recent deer. 👍
Hi mate. Get yourself a good fold up light weight umbrella. You might feel gay but they are the best thing since sliced bread. You can bunker down while your out, you can keep glassing, you can even walk around with it. Even with your rain gear on it’s good to keep the rain from being directly on you
Think Thermals have their uses where animals need to be culled on private land ,but definitely no place in fair chase public land hunting , great trip , shame Kev didn't get onto one of those Stags but would have to be happy with the experience, bet he will be back from Qld, interesting watching the interaction of deer with the dogs, I think being a fishing or hunting guide is hardest job going and when it comes to guiding on Sambar turn that up by 150%
I agree totally, yeah Kev had a ball despite not taking a stag. There's a reason no one else is guiding public land Sambar. It's ridiculously hard work. Not only to have success but also physically and mentally taxing.
Hey mate. I know you like your light weight equipment have you heard of Aziak equipment. I use them they are great tripods for back country. I would like to send you a tripod to demo. If you’re interested let me know.
Weight is critical on backcountry hunts; tripod legs weight in at 20.4 oz (with long center column) or 18.9 oz (with the included short center column), well below any other offering currently available with all these features. A max height of 45" gives you more than enough room for sitting while glassing with room to splay the legs out on steep hillsides. 3 section design means you get larger diameter carbon tubes over a 4 or 5 section tripod, giving higher stability to weight ratio. Triangular center column means the tripod can fold together tighter and take up less pack space. Quick one finger adjustment to 3 different leg angles, allowing you to get just the right setup on any terrain. Oversized center column locking knob for ease of use with gloved hand. Oversized rubber feet for grip on all surfaces. Collapsed length of only 15.5" (legs only)
*Note: Tripod includes both the long and short center column, but the Ball Head is sold separately*

A rifle is a affective tool to make an ethical kill. A thermal removes the animals ability to remain undetectable in cover. We have to draw a line with technology and this is definitely where it should be drawn. We can argue about rifle, bows and spears but really 🤷. What's next if thermals are accepted? Drones with thermal ? Don't leave camp until you fly over and find the deer first! We must put more emphasis on fair chase and ethical hunting otherwise we will become known as cullers not hunters which removes the animals status as a game animal which in turn removes hunting opportunities
That footage of the wild dog and stag was awesome mate.
Spewing about that bloody tree branch though!
Yeah cheers mate, the dingo was a cool experience. That bloody branch. If he had of aimed at it he would have missed it for sure

Rob H
Glad to see there's a heap of like minded people out there Rob 👍
Love the little orange shot dots you are adding
Thanks for your feedback Chris 😀
Well played on your Fair chase comments/leadership & encouragement for others to follow. Ethical hunting is the real approach & challenge for us all.
Let's hope enough pay attention and follow the right path
Always a good watch and I know how steep those little gully's can get. Unlucky for Kev but you gave it a good crack. Just another reason for him to make the trip back down south once again.
Thanks mate, appreciate your comments
That is some beautiful country 😍 the fact it has some awesome critters is truly a bonus.
You got that right, be boring without them
Love your respect for the animals you hunt mate.

Thanks for your support mate 👍
Good work. Fair chase, something that quite a few don`t do.
Unfortunately your correct
Cheers Zeb for showcasing such scenery. I dare say not many lures have been cast in those places.
There's a few stretches I'd say very few
Awesome vid Zeb,another great production!
Thanks Archie, loving your support 💪
Another great video! Thanks for putting these together for us
Pleasure, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍
29:48 there’s something that jumps in the river just as your pulling in your lure..wonder what it is mate check it out to the left of screen
Could have been a lizard 🦎 🤷
Great vid Zeb... I always carry my rain gear, and a torch have learnt the hard way. Love your tips of the day. 👍👍
Hey Ben, best lessons are the hard ones 👍

Awesome to hear your getting more than just entertainment from my content mate 👍

I've actually been thing about the umbrella 😉 guy or not I'd like to stay dry 😅
Is it even worth getting a rain jacket or better to have an umbrella and good puffer 😅
@melbournewellness wouldn't be caught dead in a puffer 😆 good rain jacket everyday
Awesome trip footage trail camera well positioned hows the dogs roaming and that stag preaching ⚡️ 👏👍🏕
Great hunt Zeb, dropping the stag would have topped off a great 5 days in the bush.
Thanks Chris, yep it would have but oh well next time
Lovely Ep
Thanks Craig 😀
Another great video as usual Zeb. Yep agree re thermals as well. Thermals might suit the hunting methods of some but not for me.
Thanks Curt, drop hunting form your comment when you add thermal, it's proper English 😉
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures 😂 I stand corrected.😂😂
Zeb good stuff. Fair chase should statement , put it on every video . I reckon tee shirt with it on 👍👍👍
Good idea mate 👍
Nice one mate few deer about that's awesome 👌. Fair chase all the way champion
Thanks Bradley, stay true to the hunt 💪
More awesome footage mate with that dingo harassing the stag
Pretty cool wasn't it.
Nice country Zeb pity someone put a bloody branch in the way oh well these things were sent to try us.
Haha yeah the bloody branch 🤣 he'll remember that one for a while
Cheers mate 👍
Great watch. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Mark 😊
Great video 🤙🍻
Thanks mate 🍻

Another excellent video. Fully agree regarding thermal use.👍
Thanks Tony, it will be interesting to see how many others agree
Loved the vid Zeb and agree that thermals have no place in ethical hunting. Just because they are in the regs doesn't make it right
Thanks Steve, happy to have your support 😀
Great vid mate what type of safety gloves do you have on
They are a maxifit or flex or something from Bunnings.
Hey Zeb .. could you sentle my own internal dialogue ..
Whats your thoughts on the 30/06 , Hornady ELD-X combo ?.. 178 gn ?
Great video zeb… what trail cam do you use?
These were very cheap Boblov cameras 3 for like $270
@ the picture quality looks good… thanks mate
@@BBlake-jl1ev good enough to see what they are, night time isn't as good
What's your recommendation for snake gaters?
I don't worry about snakes. I wear gaiters for crossing Rivers and creeks. Never owned snake gaiters

@perfectzero. sounds like a good thing, if you want me to review one I'd.be happy to
Yep shit happens unfortunately
Just another day on the hill as a guide 😁
i don't necessary disagree with the fair chase but in that theory you would be using a speer not a gun its all subjective really
