Great demonstration! It was really helpful to be able to see what part of the leg to hobble. We just did this to one of our newly hatched goslings. Thanks so much!
Hi, this video has helped me soo much, my duckling was hatched from a grocery store egg on Sunday, I had to help it out of the egg as it struggled alot and we started to worry. Everything turned out okay but it had splayed legs, after watching this video I managed to correct them and now he's walking better than ever! Thank you soo much!
I actually had a gosling do this to me about a year ago, her name is Franky, I actually had no idea there were videos out there on how to correct it so I used my imagination and I cut off the scrunchy part of a sock, super glued the correct amount together, and I placed it high on the legs so it wasn’t below any joints or anything like that, she was walking normally without help in a week!
I've had a few baby peacocks with spraddle legs and/or curled toes, and I agree, too much dampness just prior to hatching is what causes this. Tape curled toes flat on a cardboard or stiff plastic sandal (this even worked on an adult bird with an injured, curl-toed foot).
Thank younso much for this video. It was so helpful. You have a great heart. We hope your video helps many goslings with splayed legs. It helped a baby peafowl. God bless you!
Hey I live in central indiana between indy and Cincinnati, can you do a video on you pigs? I'm curious how you're keeping them and what their enclosure looks like. I want to start raising animals and I've binged watched all your duck videos.
Do you have any tips on what you can do to one that’s about 3 weeks old that’s doing the opposite of this ? We order a splint on Etsy but one leg doesn’t bend at the ankle.
I have a very tiny duckling who doesn't have splayed legs, but her belly is on the ground as she walks just like your gosling. She is very tiny and weak. I gave her hydrohen and nutridrench and she seems to be eating and drinking more, but still tired and struggling to walk. Do you think this method could be helpful? Any advise would be so very appreciated! I'm going to be heartbroken if I lose her.
Much easiee to use coflex bandaging cut into a strip. ALSO...anatomically, that large joint above the foot is NOT the stifle or knee!!! It is the hock joint. The kneeor stifle joint is where the drumstick adjoins the thigh. I've watched several videos on this that have called the hock joint the knee joint!
I have a duck that started out looking normal and one day he fell and now has both legs splayed and cant balance, were making him swim and suporting he's legs so he can strengthen them.. if anybody has some tips please let me know
It has been 3 days and my chick showing little to no progress. My chick was normal until she is 4 weeks old when we Put them on a temporary shelter that has a slippery ground after three days she had splayed legs. I try to fix it right away but it shows no progress
Thank you very much. My gosling had this problem he couldn't even get up. It's much better now thank you. You're the best!!!
Thank you sooo much one of our ducklings was born with this and i was panicking for a little while. This really helps
Aww that's so sweet! ❤️😭
Did your ducklings leg become alright?

Worked perfectly for my little Buff gosling, Lucky! he is walking around normally now! Thank you!
Man all these comments make me wish I had a pet gosling
How many days did it take to become alright?
Excellent video. That was exactly what I needed to see. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. It works! It is also important to consider placing the birds in a non slippery surface.

WORKED!!! Thank you 🙏 So much
Thank you so much for this!!!
Good day! I have a question.... Our duck she is about 2 months and we noticed her legs looking deformed
Do you have any tips on what you can do to one that’s about 3 weeks old that’s doing the opposite of this ? We order a splint on Etsy but one leg doesn’t bend at the ankle.
What if hes able to stand but cant walk
How long should I leave the bandage on?
Super helpful, thank you!
what about if the ducklings fall on the high ladder and got one splayed leg. Is this method okay?
My grown duck has this does it work on a grown duck ?
🇿🇦 Thanks I have 5 of them they are 3days old I try by all means not to lose them
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I wonder if this condition is more common when they are hatched in an incubator vs with the mother.
That’s a good question! I’d be interested to see if any studies have been done
Even hatch with mother you get this @@TheHomesteadTrail

I think it’s worth a shot! Maybe give it a day with those supplements to gain some strength first if she’s weak. Good luck!!
can i do this with chickens

The "knee" in this video is the ankle "heel joint"

That sounds like it might be slipped tendon instead, unfortunately that’s not as easy to fix
Can I will try this tipe on one month baby?
aww poor baby! Will it be able to walk later? We were thinking about getting ducks too. Oh way cool, you fixed it's legs!!
is it possible in adult ducks
Not really. The bandages would be too small
@@dragonempress8367 thank you for this it really worked for adults
Que bonito lo que haces, es maravilloso; estaré al tanto de la evolución. Disculpe que escriba en español.
